ORDER FOR THE WORSHIP OF GOD TRINITY PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH NOVEMBER 20, 2016 10:30 AM HYMN OF PRAISE Praise, My Soul, the King of Heaven (from Psalm 103) CREED FROM COLOSSIANS 1:13-20 PEOPLE God has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins. 1 Michael Wichlan Associate Pastor
The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities all things were created through him and for him. And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together. And he is the head of the body, the church. He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in everything he might be preeminent. For in him all the fullness of God was pleased to dwell, and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether on earth or in heaven, making peace by the blood of his cross. CONFESSION AND ASSURANCE Psalm 130 LEADER PEOPLE LEADER PEOPLE Out of the depths I cry to you, O LORD! O Lord, hear my voice! Let your ears be attentive to the voice of my pleas for mercy! If you, O LORD, should mark iniquities, O Lord, who could stand? But with you there is forgiveness, that you may be feared. I wait for the LORD, my soul waits, and in his word I hope; my soul waits for the Lord more than watchmen for the morning, more than watchmen for the morning. O Israel, hope in the LORD! For with the LORD there is steadfast love, and with him is plentiful redemption. And he will redeem Israel from all his iniquities. TRINITY PRAYER OPPORTUNITY: To that end keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints, and also for me, that words may be given to me in opening my mouth boldly to proclaim the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an ambassador in chains, that I may declare it boldly, as I ought to speak Ephesians 6:18-20. As members of the body of Christ, we have the great privilege and responsibility of praying for one another and for the saints around the world. The Trinity Mission Committee provides an important opportunity to pray for current, specific needs for our global and local ministry partners every weekday by subscribing to the TPC Mission Prayer email list. You will receive a short, specific request each weekday for one of our partners. Please subscribe at http://is.gd/tpcprayer and intercede on behalf of our ministry partners as they proclaim the mystery of the gospel.
