(Matt 3:6 NAU)
DECREASE THE WORLDLY ELEMENTS B5: Blessed are the merciful, for they shall receive mercy (Matt 5:7) B6: Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God (Matt 5:8) B7: Blessed are the peace makers, for they shall be called the sons of God (Matt 5:9) B10: Blessed are those who have been persecuted for the sake of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven (Matt 5:10 NAU)
THE GUARANTY OF GOING TO HEAVEN Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness for theirs is the kingdom of heaven (Hebrew Matthew acc. to Shem-Tob, trans. George Howard, 5:10) Blessed are those who have been persecuted for the sake of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. (Grk Matt. 5:10 Eng: NAU) If One Is So Transformed by God, and Lives Out the Righteousness of Christ, He Will Not Be Welcomed by This Fallen World, and Will Be Persecuted for Being Righteous, thus Perfectly Fit & Ready for Life in Heaven. The Righteous Fruit in Practice/Life Proves the Righteous Nature Received from Belief/Faith.
CASE 1: RIGHT BELIEF AND RIGHT PRACTICE 13 At that time Jesus said to his disciples: Enter in the narrow gate because the gate of destruction is wide and deep and many are going through it. 14 How narrow is the gate and grievous the way (that leads straight) to life and few are those who find it. (Heb Matt 7:13-14) 13 "Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the way is broad that leads to destruction, and there are many who enter through it. 14 "For the gate is small and the way is narrow that leads to life, and there are few who find it. (Grk Matt. 7:13-14 NAU)
CASE 1: RIGHT BELIEF AND RIGHT PRACTICE The Narrow/Straight Gate Is Jesus Christ: Enter thru Faith And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must be saved. Peter (Acts 4:12 NAU) I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me. Jesus (John 14:6 NAU) The Grievous/Narrow Way Is Holy Life: Stay in Practice If anyone wishes to come after Me, he must deny himself, and take up his cross and follow Me. (Matt 16:24) 29 If your right eye makes you stumble, tear it out and throw it from you; 30 If your right hand makes you stumble, cut it off and throw it from you. (Matt 5:29-30)
CASE 2: WRONG BELIEF AND WRONG PRACTICE 15 Again he said to them: Beware of false prophets who come to you in wool clothing like sheep, but inside are tearing wolves. 16 By their deeds you will know them. Does a man gather grapes from thorns or figs from briars? 17 Every good tree bears good fruit and every bad tree makes bad fruit. 18 The good tree cannot make bad fruit, nor can the bad tree make good fruit. 19 Every tree which does not make good fruit (is burned in the fire). 20 Therefore it is according to fruits, that is, by their deeds, you will know them. (Heb Matt 7:15-20)
CASE 2: WRONG BELIEF AND WRONG PRACTICE 15 "Beware of the false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly are ravenous wolves. 16 "You will know them by their fruits. Grapes are not gathered from thorn bushes nor figs from thistles, are they? 17 "So every good tree bears good fruit, but the bad tree bears bad fruit. 18 "A good tree cannot produce bad fruit, nor can a bad tree produce good fruit. 19 "Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20 "So then, you will know them by their fruits. (Grk Matt. 7:15-20 Eng:NAU)
CASE 2: WRONG BELIEF AND WRONG PRACTICE False Prophets Have both Wrong Beliefs and Wrong Practice. They Teach Heterodoxy (Wrong Beliefs). They Practice Heteropraxy (Wrong Acts). The Latter Will Tell/Reveal the Former. True Prophets Relay God s Message and Call People to Repentance; They Are Repentant Themselves First, and often Give up Comfortable Life. False Prophets Say What People Like to Hear, and Do Not Adhere to God s Word; They Let People Focus on Success in This World, and Often Live a Luxurious Life.
CASE 3: WRONG BELIEF AND RIGHT PRACTICE 21 Becausenot everyone who says unto me, Lord, will enter the kingdom of heaven but one who does the will of my father who is in heaven will enter the kingdom of heaven. 22 Many will say to me in the day, Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name cast out demons and do many signs in your name. 23 Then I will say to them: I never knew you, Depart from me all you workers of iniquity. (Heb Matt 7:21-23)
CASE 3: WRONG BELIEF AND RIGHT PRACTICE 21 "Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven will enter. 22 "Many will say to Me on that day, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many miracles?' 23 "And then I will declare to them, 'I never knew you; DEPART FROM ME, YOU WHO PRACTICE LAWLESSNESS. (Ps 6:8) (Matt. 7:21-23 NAU)
CASE 3: WRONG BELIEF AND RIGHT PRACTICE The Because in Heb Matt 7:21 May Indicate that Matt 7:21-23 ( Case 3 ) Was Just the Appearance of Matt 7:15-20 ( Case 2 ): They Say that They Have Done the Right Things; Jesus Say that They Practice Lawlessness. There Is Actually a Kind of People, who Strive to Live a Religious and Righteous Life (e.g. Many Jews, Catholics, Mormons, SDA), but because What They Believe Is Wrong, Their Righteousness Is Actually Lawlessness in God s Eyes. They May Do Many Things Right, but Some Are Wrong. They May Be Religious, but Not Regenerated.
CASE 4: RIGHT BELIEF AND WRONG PRACTICE 24 Again he said to them: Everyone who hears these words and does them is like a wise man who built (his) house on a rock. 25 The rains comes down against it and the winds beat it and it did not fall because its foundation was on a rock. 26 Everyone who hears these my words and does not do them is like a foolish man who built his house upon the sand. 27 The rain comes down, the flood came and fell against it, (and it fell) with a great fall. (Heb Matt 7:24-27)
CASE 4: RIGHT BELIEF AND WRONG PRACTICE 24 "Therefore everyone who hears these words of Mine and acts on them, may be compared to a wise man who built his house on the rock. 25 "And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and slammed against that house; and yet it did not fall, for it had been founded on the rock. 26 "Everyone who hears these words of Mine and does not act on them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand. 27 "The rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and slammed against that house; and it fell--and great was its fall." (Matt. 7:24-27 NAU)
CASE 4: RIGHT BELIEF AND WRONG PRACTICE This Is the Case of the Church of Laodicea (Rev 3:14-22): Post-Modern Evangelical and Charismatic Church. Many Are Born-Again by Believing in Jesus Christ as Who He Said He Is, Accepting Him as Personal Savior, that His Death Paid for their Sin, & They Are Saved by Faith Alone. But Many Do Not Regard Jesus as their Lord, to Obey His Commands, to Let the Holy Spirit Fill them and Transform their Character, to Know and Obey the Spirit of the Law. They Focus on Justification (Regeneration = Salvation Step 1), but Neglect Sanctification (Conforming to the Image of Christ = Salvation Step 2). They Will Miss a Lot of Reward at the Glorification (Salvation Step 3)
BELIEF VS. PRACTICE Sermonette 8 (Matt 7:13-27) Orthodoxy (Right Belief): (+,?) Heterodoxy (Wrong Belief): (-,?) Orthopraxy (Right Practice): (?,+) 1. Small Gate & Narrow Way (7:13-14): Bona Fide True Believer (+,+) 3. Good for Nothing (7:21-23): Religious but Unregenerated (-,+) Heteropraxy (Wrong Practice): (?,-) 4. Build House on the Sand (7:24-27): Saved but Not Changed (+,-) 2. False Prophets (7:15-20): Wrong Life Tells Wrong Belief (-, -)
BELIEF VS. PRACTICE Orthodoxy (Right Belief): (+,?) Sermonette 4 (Matt 5:43-48, Supplement 6:2-4) Heterodoxy (Wrong Belief): (-,?) Orthopraxy (Right Practice): (?,+) Love even the Enemy (5:44-47) Seek for Perfection (5:48) Do Righteousness for Men (6:2-4) Heteropraxy (Wrong Practice): (?,-) Love (Only) Those Who Love You (5:43a) Hate Those Who Hate You (5:43b)
LIFE OF ABRAHAM A Life on the Path of the Beatitudes 1. Poor in Spirit Childless Pagan Left Ur; Enter Canaan 11:27 12:9 2. Mourn [for Sin] {Proud Man Lost Wife}; Rebuild Altars 12:10 13:4 3. Meek Let Lot Choose Land; Defeat 4 Kings 13:5 14:16 4. Hunger/Thirst for Righteousness Tithe, Faith, {Ishmael}, Circumcise, Receive the Angels; Isaac Promised 14:17 18:15 5. Merciful Intercede for Lot; {Wife Protected} 18:16 20:18 6. Pure in Heart Let Go Ishmael; See the Angel of God 21:1-21 7. Peacemaker Peace Covenant with Abimelech 21:22-34 8. Persecuted for Righteousness Bind Isaac, Bury Sarah; Find Rebecca, Let Go 6 Sons 22:1 25:11
GIVING UP LIFE AND MONEY Abraham Binding (and Almost Sacrificing) Isaac Was Being Ready to Give up Life (His Only Begotten Son s Is Like His Own) for God s Sake. Abraham Paying a Sky-High Price to Buy the Land for Burying His Wife Sarah in the Promised Land Was Being Ready to Give up Money for God s Sake. For Many People, Money Is Life, Giving up Money Is as Hard as Giving up Life. In 1 Corinthians, which Has 8 Section Corresponding to NOT Having the 8 Blessings in the Beatitudes, the Last One Involves both Life (Resurrection in Ch.15) and Money (Donation to Jerusalem in Ch.16). Finding Rebecca for Isaac, & Letting Go 6 Sons for Isaac, Are How the Kingdom of God Became Surely Abraham s.
