Ps 11:,,10 (to understanding) Open thou mine eyes, that I may behold wondrous things out of thy law. Thy testimonies are wonderful: therefore doth my soul keep them. Ex. : it,11(to 1st.),1(to :),14(to 2nd,) it came to pass, as Moses entered into the tabernacle, the cloudy pillar descended, and stood at the door of the tabernacle, and the Lord talked with Moses. 11 And the Lord spake unto Moses face to face, as a man speaketh unto his friend. 1 Now therefore, I pray thee, if I have found grace in thy sight, shew me now thy way, that I may know thee, that I may find grace in thy sight: 14 And he said, My presence shall go with thee, Isa 2: And the eyes of them that see shall not be dim, and the ears of them that hear shall hearken. 7 II Kings :-17 when when the servant of the man of God was risen early, and gone forth, behold, an host compassed the city both with horses and chariots. And his servant said unto him, Alas, my master! how shall we do? 1 And he answered, Fear not: for they that be with us are more than they that be with them. 17 8 And Elisha prayed, and said, Lord, I pray thee, open his eyes, that he may see. And the Lord opened the eyes of the young man; and he saw: and, behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha.

But we have the mind of Christ. we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God. Luke :-11 And it came to pass also on another sabbath, that he entered into the synagogue and taught: and there was a man whose right hand was withered. And the scribes and Pharisees watched him, whether he would heal on the sabbath day; that they might find an accusation against him. But he knew their thoughts, and said to the man which had the withered hand, Rise up, and stand forth in the midst. And he arose and stood forth. Then said Jesus unto them, I will ask you one thing; Is it lawful on the sabbath days to do good, or to do evil? to save life, or to destroy it? And looking round about upon them all, he said unto the man, Stretch forth thy hand. And he did so: and his hand was restored whole as the other. 11 And they were filled with madness; and communed one with another what they might do to Jesus. 10 28 11 20 Acts 28: the,28 the heart of this people is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes have they closed; lest they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them. Be it known therefore unto you, that the salvation of God is sent unto the Gentiles, and that they will hear it. Luke 17:20 when he, when he was demanded of the Pharisees, when the kingdom of God should come, he answered them and said, The kingdom of God cometh not with observation: Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you. Matt. 1:-0 The The kingdom of heaven is likened unto a man which sowed good seed in his field: 25 2 But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way. But when the blade was sprung up, and brought forth fruit, then appeared the tares also. 28 So the servants of the householder came and said unto him, Sir, didst not thou sow good seed in thy field? from whence then hath it tares? He said unto them, An enemy hath done this. The servants said unto him, Wilt thou then that we go and gather them up? 2 But he said, Nay; lest while ye gather up the tares, ye root up also the wheat with them. 0 1 Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn. Matt. 1:-4 his his disciples came unto him, saying, Declare unto us the parable of the tares of the field. 7 He answered and said unto them, He that soweth the good seed is the Son of man;
of 10 /2/201 8:1 PM 8 The field is the world; the good seed are the children of the kingdom; but the tares are the children of the wicked one; The enemy that sowed them is the devil; the harvest is the end of the world; and the reapers are the angels. 40 As therefore the tares are gathered and burned in the fire; so shall it be in the end of this world. 41 The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity; 42 And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth. 4 14 14 4 Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Who hath ears to hear, let him hear. Rom. 8:14 as many, as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. Ps. :4-5 (to :) The Lord on high is mightier than the noise of many waters, yea, than the mighty waves of the sea. 5 Thy testimonies are very sure: 1 17 1 2 1 17 20 Phil. 4: Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you. Heb 11:1, Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear. Rom :2 be not be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. Mark 1:17 these,,20 (to 1st.) these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. SCIENCE AND HEALTH 1 SH 20:1-2 Spiritual sense is a conscious, constant capacity to understand God. 2 0:1 SH 0:1-10 Its ideas are expressed only in "new
4 of 10 /2/201 8:1 PM tongues;" and these are interpreted by the translation of the spiritual original into the language which human thought can comprehend. The Principle and proof of Christianity are discerned by spiritual sense. They are set forth in Jesus' demonstrations, which show by his healing the sick, casting out evils, and destroying death, "the last enemy that shall be destroyed," his disregard of matter and its so-called laws. Jesus' disregard of matter 25:1 4 5 0 SH 258:1-1; 25:-14 Through spiritual sense you can discern the heart of divinity, and thus begin to comprehend in Science the generic term man. In divine Science, man is the true image of God. The divine nature was best expressed in Christ Jesus, who threw upon mortals the truer reflection of God and lifted their lives higher than their poor thought-models would allow, thoughts which presented man as fallen, sick, sinning, and dying. The Christlike understanding of scientific being and divine healing includes a perfect Principle and idea, perfect God and perfect man, as the basis of thought and demonstration. SH 2: The spiritual sense of truth must be gained before Truth can be understood. This sense is assimilated only as we are honest, unselfish, loving, and meek. In the soil of an "honest and good heart" the seed must be sown; else it beareth not much fruit, for the swinish element in human nature uproots it. Jesus said: "Ye do err, not knowing the Scriptures." The spiritual sense of the Scriptures brings out the scientific sense, and is the new tongue referred to in the last chapter of Mark's Gospel. SH 547:2-2 Spirituality of Scripture The Scriptures are very sacred. Our aim must be to have them understood spiritually, for only by this understanding can truth be gained. The true theory of the universe, including man, is not in material history but in spiritual development. Inspired thought relinquishes a material, sensual, and True theory of the universe mortal theory of the universe, and adopts the spiritual and immortal. It is this spiritual perception of Scripture, which lifts humanity out of disease and death and inspires faith. SH 5:14 The evidence of the existence of Spirit, Soul, is palpable only to
5 of 10 /2/201 8:1 PM 7 8 10 spiritual sense, and is not apparent to the material senses, which cognize only that which is the opposite of Spirit. SH 4:1-28 The chief difficulty in conveying the teachings of divine Science accurately to human thought lies in this, that like all other languages, English is inadequate to the expression of spiritual conceptions and propositions, because one is obliged to use material terms in dealing with spiritual ideas. The elucidation of Christian Science lies in its spiritual sense, and this sense must be gained by its disciples in order to grasp the meaning of this Science. Out of this condition grew the prophecy concerning the Christian apostles, "They shall speak with new tongues." Speaking of the things of Spirit while dwelling on a material plane, material terms must be generally employed. Mortal thought does not at once catch the higher meaning, and can do so only as thought is educated up to spiritual apprehension. SH 505:1 Spirit imparts the understanding which uplifts consciousness and leads into all truth. The Psalmist saith: Language inadequate "The Lord on high is mightier than the noise of many waters, yea, than the mighty waves of the sea." Spiritual sense is the discernment of spiritual good. Understanding is the line of demarcation between the real and unreal. Spiritual understanding unfolds Mind, Life, Truth, and Love, and demonstrates the divine sense, giving the spiritual proof of the universe in Christian Science. SH 41: Understanding imparted It is only by acknowledging the supremacy of Spirit, which annuls the claims of matter, that mortals can lay off mortality and find the indissoluble spiritual link which establishes man forever in the divine likeness, inseparable from his creator. SH 548: How little light or heat reach our earth when clouds cover the sun's face! So Christian Science can be seen only as the clouds of corporeal sense roll away. Earth has little light or joy for mortals before Life is spiritually learned. Every agony of mortal error helps error to destroy error, and so aids the apprehension of immortal Truth. This is the new birth going on hourly, by which men may entertain angels, the true ideas of God, the spiritual sense of being. The clouds dissolving 11 SH viii:4-
of 10 /2/201 8:1 PM To develop the full might of this Science, the discords of corporeal sense must yield to the harmony of spiritual sense, even as the science of music corrects false tones and gives sweet concord to sound. Theology and physics teach that both Spirit and matter are real and good, whereas the fact is that Spirit is good and real, and matter is Spirit's opposite. 41:1 1 72:1 14 SH 40:1 The nature of Christianity is peaceful and blessed, but in order to enter into the kingdom, the anchor of hope must be cast beyond the veil of matter into the Shekinah into which Jesus has passed before us; and this advance beyond matter must come through the joys and triumphs of the righteous as well as through their sorrows and afflictions. Like our Master, we must depart from material sense into the spiritual sense of being. SH 72:1-8, As Within the veil There is but one spiritual existence, the Life of which corporeal sense can take no cognizance. The divine Principle of man speaks through immortal sense. If a material body in other words, mortal, material sense were permeated by Spirit, that body would disappear to mortal sense, would be deathless. A condition precedent to communion with Spirit is the gain of spiritual life. As light destroys darkness and in the place of darkness all is light, so (in absolute Science) Soul, or God, is the only truth-giver to man. Truth destroys mortality, and brings to light immortality. Mortal belief (the material sense of life) and immortal Truth (the spiritual sense) are the tares and the wheat, which are not united by progress, but separated. SH 481:7-,1-2 Material sense never helps mortals to understand Spirit, God. Through spiritual sense only, man comprehends and loves Deity. Spirits obsolete The fruit forbidden Human hypotheses first assume the reality of sickness, sin, and death, and then assume the necessity of these evils because of their admitted actuality. These human verdicts are the procurers of all discord. SH 17:7 Our pro-
7 of 10 /2/201 8:1 PM portionate admission of the claims of good or of evil determines the harmony of our existence, our health, our longevity, and our Christianity. 1 17 1 20 0 SH 2: To material sense, the severance of the jugular vein takes away life; but to spiritual sense and in Science, Life goes on unchanged and being is eternal. Temporal life is a false sense of existence. SH :5-,-1 Spiritual sense of life Corporeal senses define diseases as realities; but the Scriptures declare that God made all, even while the corporeal senses are saying that matter causes disease and the divine Mind cannot or will not heal it. We must silence this lie of material sense with the truth of spiritual sense. SH 5:4 PROPHET. A spiritual seer; disappearance of material sense before the conscious facts of spiritual Truth. SH 84:-5(to fiction); 85:2 The ancient prophets gained their foresight from a spiritual, incorporeal standpoint, not by foreshadowing evil and mistaking fact for fiction It is the illumination of the spiritual understanding which demonstrates the capacity of Soul, not of material sense. This Soul-sense comes to the human mind when the latter yields to the divine Mind. SH 28:1-,25-0 What the senses originate Scientific foreseeing Spiritual sense, contradicting the material senses, involves intuition, hope, faith, understanding, fruition, reality. Material sense expresses the belief that mind is in matter. This human belief, alternating between a sense of pleasure and pain, hope and fear, life and death, never reaches beyond the boundary of the mortal or the unreal. Angels are not etherealized human beings, evolving animal qualities in their wings; but they are celestial visitants, flying on spiritual, not material, pinions. Angels are pure thoughts from God, winged with Truth and Love, no matter what their individualism may be. SH 205:- Befogged in error (the error of believing that matter can be intelligent for good or evil), we can catch clear Thoughtangels

In divine Science, man possesses this recognition of harmony consciously in proportion to his understanding of God. SH :1 Heaven is not a locality, but a divine state of Mind in which all the manifestations of Mind are harmonious and immortal, because sin is not there and man is Salvation and probation found having no righteousness of his own, but in possession of "the mind of the Lord," as the Scripture says. SH 57:2 remember remember Jesus' words, "The kingdom of God is within you." This spiritual consciousness is therefore a present possibility.
