PRESBYTERY OF YELLOWSTONE First Presbyterian Church, Bozeman, Montana March 2-3, 2012 COMMITTEE ON MINISTRY REPORT The Committee on Ministry participated in a Working Retreat Thursday and Friday 26-27 January 2012 at First Presbyterian Church, Bozeman, Montana, and a Telephone Conference Call on Tuesday 14 February 2012. Actions taken by CoM since the 11-12 November 2011 Presbytery meeting include: The April 1993 Remuneration Guidelines for Sessions was discussed and modified to reflect conditions in 2012. P Voted to recommend a new set of Remuneration Guidelines for Sessions to Presbytery for approval. See Attachment #1 P Assigned liaisons for TEs/Congregations for 2012. See Attachment # 2 P Adopt Established CoM Goals for 2012 See Attachment #3 P Voted on behalf of authority given CoM by Presbytery of Yellowstone to approve Terms of Call between Editha McKay, CREPS, and the Stanford Church with the addition of a 6 th point stating that Editha has a responsibility to serve in the Councils of the Church. See Attachment #4. We await evaluation and agreement of terms by Community Presbyterian Church, Geyser. P Voted to reappoint Rev. Kathy Goodrich as Editha s mentor for 2012. P Voted to approve, with several suggested changes, the mission study of the Community Presbyterian Church in Jordan PSub-committee appointed to interview Paul Cannon with the PNC, Hysham, MT. via SKYPE PVoted to recommend Paul Cannon for ordination and membership into Yellowstone Presbytery upon his examination by Presbytery at a Special Called Presbytery meeting on Thursday, 12 January 2012 PApproved the Administrative Commission for Ordination and Installation of Pollard (Paul) Cannon, Jr., called by the Community Presbyterian Church of Treasure County congregation, Hysham, MT., to serve as Minister of Word and Sacrament (Teaching Elder) with them. See Attachment # 5 for Administrative Commission & Terms of Call PApproved Presbytery Administrative Commission for Installation Service on Sunday 08 January 2012 for Rev. Susan Louise Ennis, called by First Presbyterian Church congregation, Poplar, MT. to serve as Minister of Word and Sacrament (Teaching Elder). See Attachment #6. PApproved Church Information Forms, CIFs, for First Presbyterian Church, Miles City, MT and St. Andrew Presbyterian Church, Billings, MT. Their Pastor Search now begins. PReceived timely bi-monthly reports from Rev. David Schneider, Interim, with appreciation expressed for the great work he is doing with First Presbyterian Church congregation in Miles City, MT. PVoted to name Rev. Dick Davis as Moderator of the Deer Lodge session PVoted to grant permission to labor within the Bounds of Presbytery of Yellowstone to the following retired Presbyterian pastors for the following purposes:

Rev. David Krebill to perform a wedding at Big Sky Rev. Wayne Bolton to preach at St. Timothy s Chapel Rev. Laird Stewart to preach at St. Timothy s Chapel Rev. John Galloway to preach at St. Timothy s Chapel PApproved appointment of Rev. James (Jed) Cauffman, First Presbyterian Church, Lewistown, MT. to replace Rev. Mary Davis, (due to health issues) as member of Presbytery of Yellowstone Administrative Commission for the Installation Service of Rev. Jim Kidd whose call to the White Sulphur Springs with the Yoked Parish of First Presbyterian and American Lutheran began on 01 October 2011. Attachment # 1 PRESBYTERY OF YELLOWSTONE COMMITTEE ON MINISTRY REMUNERATION GUIDELINES FOR SESSIONS In order to provide for the expenses of a Moderator of the Session when a church does not have an installed pastor, the following guidelines are provided: Single Preaching Occasion $100.00 Plus travel reimbursement at current IRS employee rate Second Service at another church $ 50.00 Plus mileage reimbursement at current IRS employee rate Moderating a Meeting of Session: $ 50.00 Plus travel reimbursement at current IRS employee rate Moderating Congregational Meeting $ 50.00 Plus travel reimbursement at current IRS employee rate If more than a single occasion is involved, (e.g. Preaching followed by session and or congregational meeting) then the session should negotiate a reasonable financial arrangement with the person who has been asked to serve. To complete the Committees portion of the supplement to the presbytery s Manual of Administrative Operations by October 15, 1012. To adopt a Sexual Misconduct Policy by the November presbytery meeting and provide Boundary Training during the first half of 2012. To provide a minimum of 45 minutes of time at each face to face meeting for Spiritual Practices and Spiritual Reflection. To accomplish 7 Triennial Visits during the year. To develop a plan to build closer relationships with Pastors and congregations. To provide a training segment at each face to face meeting. To monitor the developments of the Presbyterian Fellowship and participate in meetings to share these developments with churches. To review the status of work on the above goals at each committee meeting.

Attachment #4 TERMS OF CALL for Editha McKay, CREPS Service from January 1, 2012 to December 31, 2012 Cash Salary: $19,500.00 Auto Allowance: 6,000.00 Housing Allowance 5,000.00 Continuing Education 650.00 cumulative to 3 years Pension/Medical not applicable at this time. This compensation is for a 30 hour work week not including time for travel between the churches and home to work. Editha Mckay will keep a log of her job activities to help determine her work schedule. Auto allowance is for her work related mileage including travel from home to the churches and also between the two churches.
