Dress, Testimony, Cooperation, and Statement of Faith Because Highlands Christian Academy is a Christian school, it is necessary for all employees to agree to certain things: I. DRESS - It is agreed that all employees will dress modestly and appropriately, according to given standards for the position. II. TESTIMONY - It is agreed that all employees will adhere to the following at all times: A. Refrain from indecent language, smoking, gambling, drinking, viewing of morally questionable materials, and being involved in any form of inappropriate conduct. B. Maintain Christian standards of courtesy, kindness, morality, and honesty. C. Maintain conduct that is above reproach. D. Staff should not express their opinion to any parent, student, or other faculty member if they are not in agreement with these standards. III. COOPERATION - It is agreed that all employees will adhere to the following: A. Cooperate with superior and fellow employees. B. Be faithful in conducting all professional responsibilities and expectations. IV. CHURCH MEMBERSHIP - Members of Highlands Christian Academy faculty are required to be active members of Grace Baptist Church. All staff members should be faithful in attending all church services. Failure to meet this basic requirement will place the employment of the staff member in jeopardy. Members will be encouraged to give a tithe to the Grace Baptist Church to support the Lord s work. Because ministry at Highlands Christian Academy also involves ministry at Grace Baptist Church, teachers are expected to be involved in an area of service/ministry. V. STATEMENT OF FAITH We believe that the Bible, both Old and New Testaments, was given by inspiration of God, and is our only rule in matters of faith and practice. We believe in creation, not evolution; that man was created by the direct act of God and in the image of God. We believe that Adam and Eve, in yielding to the temptation of Satan, became fallen creatures. We believe that all men are born in sin. We believe in the incarnation, the virgin birth, and the atonement for the sins of mankind by the shedding of Jesus blood on the cross. We believe in the necessity of the new birth, and that this new birth is through the regeneration by the Holy Spirit. We believe that salvation is by grace through faith in the atoning blood of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. We believe that these essentials of the faith are sufficient basis for Christian fellowship. We believe all born-again followers of Christ who sincerely accept these essentials can, and should, live together in peace. These beliefs should promote harmony among the members of the body of Christ who work together to share the gospel with as many people as possible.
