Our parish newly constructed confessional, like the womb of Mary, holds and delivers the promise of the Lord s Oh, what a wonderful day! Amidst the special liturgies of this morning and tonight, with two visiting bishops to our parish, we have mercy. We should hear, with alert spiritual ears, during the visit of a splendid day, full of great graces released, as we warmly welcome the statue of Our Lady of Fatima to our parish today, the special call of Mary, the Mother of Compassion, to make our acts of repentance, the loving presence of the Mother of God, Mary most holy, into our confess our sins, and put into place firm commitments to pray for the lives and into our parish. Both a parish and individual acts of consecration to Mary will be devoutly made today with the assistance release of mercy through the redemptive wounds of Her Son, who came that sinners might find forgiveness and live! of our visiting bishops. Dear Parishioners, How is it that the mother of my Lord should come to me! Like the cousin of Mary, Elizabeth is expectant both with child and with awestruck faith over all that God has done for her, as she proclaims this holy welcome to her young relative, also with child and full of grace. With our newly renovated and relocated shrine of Our Lady of Fatima to an outdoor setting on the west side of the church we are now prepared to consider prayerfully and enter more fully into the meaning of the Fatima message in that great moment of Mary s apparition in Portugal, in 1917. I thank everyone who participated in our holy day today in the parish and for all who planned for and donated their time and effort to bring about visit of the Statue of Our Lady of Fatima! May Our Lady of Fatima come and make her loving intercession for us before We have the whole day to honor and venerate our Lady in her special the throne of her Son as we reconsecrate our hearts to her historical role as Our Lady of Fatima, who appeared to three children Immaculate Heart and to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, her Son. Another beautiful statement for our own personal consideration. What is our response? Is it Elizabethan? Centennial Corner Hello parishioners! My email is mgflannnery1992@gmail.com and my phone number is 952-913-3136. Meg Flannery International Pilgrim Virgin Statue of Our Lady of Fatima Welcome to the Church of St. George! We are honored and privileged to be hosting Archbishop Bernard Hebda, Bishop Andrew Cozzens, and the International Pilgrim Virgin Statue of Our Lady of Fatima. We are excited that this weekend s significant events will be a part of our history at St. George during our centennial year! Here is some historical information on this weekend s important guest as you pray with the International Pilgrim Statue of Our Lady of Fatima. She was hand-carved from mahogany wood by the famous Portuguese sculptor José Thedim in 1947 based on the detailed directions of Sister Lucia of Fatima. The Bishop of Fatima blessed the statue on October 13, 1947 and gave it the vital mission to serve as the Pilgrim Virgin. Additionally, the Bishop prayerfully requested that Mary herself follow the statue during its global journeys. His Holiness Pope Pius XII declared in a radio address to a million pilgrims at Fatima, Portugal: In 1946, I crowned Our Lady of Fatima as Queen of the World and the following year, through the Pilgrim Virgin, She set forth as though to claim Her dominion, and the favors She performs along the way are such that we can hardly believe what we are seeing with our eyes. This Sunday spend some time in prayer with our Holy Mother and open your heart to her as we welcome this very beautiful and powerful image of Our Lady of Fatima.
