SCRIPTURE Isaiah 9:3-7 (NKJV) You have multiplied the nation And increased its joy; [a] They rejoice before You According to the joy of harvest, As men rejoice when they divide the spoil. 4 For You have broken the yoke of his burden And the staff of his shoulder, The rod of his oppressor, As in the day of Midian. 5 For every warrior s sandal from the noisy battle, And garments rolled in blood, Will be used for burning and fuel of fire. 6 For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. 7 Of the increase of His government and peace There will be no end, Upon the throne of David and over His kingdom, To order it and establish it with judgment and justice From that time forward, even forever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this. 4
RESPONSIVE READING Psalm 99:1-5 (NKJV) LEADER: The Lord reigns; Let the peoples tremble! He dwells between the cherubim; Let the earth be moved! CONG: The Lord is great in Zion, And He is high above all the peoples. LEADER: Let them praise Your great and awesome name He is holy. Joyful, all ye nations, rise, Join the triumph of the skies; With th angelic hosts proclaim, Christ is born in Bethlehem. Hark! The herald angels sing, Glory to the newborn King. (2) Christ, by highest heav n adored; Christ, the everlasting Lord: Late in time behold Him come, Off-spring of a virgin s womb. Veiled in flesh the God-head see, Hail th incarnate Deity! Pleased as man with men t appear, Jesus our Immanuel here. Hark! The herald angels sing, Glory to the newborn King. (3) Hail the heav n-born Prince of Peace! Hail the Sun of righteousness! Light and life to all He brings, Risen with healing in His wings: Mild He lays His glory by, Born that man no more may die; Born to raise the sons of earth; Born to give them second birth. Hark! The herald angels sing, Glory to the newborn King. (4) Come, Desire of nations, come! Fix in us Thy humble home: Rise, the woman s conquering seed, Bruise in us the serpent s head; Adam s likeness now efface, Stamp Thine image in its place: Second Adam from above, Re-in-state us in Thy love. Hark! The herald angels sing, Glory to the newborn King. 6
The tenth shall be holy unto the Lord. Leviticus 27:32 Every Christian should strive to learn how to be a cheerful giver. When we give what does it actually mean? It simply means we, cheerfully give to God our tithes and offerings. Tithing honors God. Are you giving the Lord His tithes or your tips? The word tithe means to give back to God one tenth of your earnings for the support of the ministry, the expenses of the church, the relief of the poor and the spread of the Gospel throughout the world.
