Enjoying God as My Security 44 www.tasteheavennow.net...not from how well I defended myself. God is my defender. I praise You who are close to me......not by sarcastic laughter that causes others pain. It is God s power not mine that is my security......not by how well I manipulate people. I don t have to feed on twisted forms of human power. I love You Lord......not by my getting even with those who hurt me. Vengeance belongs to God. God s presence is far more thrilling......not by how well I use words to put other people down. God s power is my security. God is worthy of praise......not the power I feel when putting myself down. The Lord is the God of all power. I love the closeness of Your power......not from the smiles I get from other people. I love the radiance shining on me from Your face He is my security......not from finding out if they approve of me. It is God s acceptance and approval that makes me secure I praise You......I turn away from having to achieve a sense of being secure by earthly means. I rest into trusting the abundant grace of God the power of His presence is far better. I love taking refuge in God...... God is my strong fortress... (2 Sam 22:33)......let us continually offer up a sacrifice of praise to God... (Heb. 13:15) For You have been a refuge for me, A tower of strength...let me dwell in Your tent forever; Let me take refuge in the shelter of Your wings... (Psa. 61:3,4) Though the fig tree should not blossom And there be no fruit on the vines, Though the yield of the olive should fail And the fields produce no food, Though the flock should be cut off from the fold And there be no cattle in the stalls, Yet I will exult in the Lord, I will rejoice in the God of my salvation. The Lord God is my strength, And He has made my feet like hinds' feet, And makes me walk on my high places. (Hab. 3:17-19)...God is my security because I take refuge inside the armor of His presence around me... The Lord is my light and my salvation; Whom shall I fear? The Lord is the defense of my life; Whom shall I dread? (Psa. 27:1) The Bible tells me,...put on the armor of light...put on the Lord Jesus Christ... (Rom. 13:12 and 14) he who takes refuge in Me...will possess My holy mountain. (Isa. 57:13)... I will say to the Lord, My refuge and my fortress, My God, in whom I trust! (Psa. 91:2)... You are my hiding place and my shield... (Psa. 119:114)...The word of the Lord is tested; He is a shield to all who take refuge in Him. (2 Sam 22:31)... I have set the Lord continually before me; Because He is at my right hand, I will not be shaken. Therefore my heart is glad and my glory rejoices; My flesh also will dwell securely. (Psa. 16:8,9)...let us continually offer up a sacrifice of praise to God... (Heb. 13:15)

Enjoying God as My Security 45...not in soothing myself with how nice I am to people. It is God that soothes me best......not how well I do in conversations with people. Lord, I praise You not myself......not found in disbelieving the truth about God. It is safe for me to trust that God is good and be near to Him......not from the religious culture that surrounds me. Lord, I worship Your power not theirs......not from how well I avoid rocking the boat and settling for mediocrity......not from......i turn away from having to achieve a sense of being secure by earthly means. I rest into trusting the abundant grace of God the power of His presence is far better. I love taking refuge in God......God is not asking me to give up anything that He hasn t also promised to replace it with something far better......repent and return, so that your sins may be wiped away, in order that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord (Acts 3:19)....Rather than finding refuge in earthly ways, I rest my soul into receiving the presence of the Holy Spirit... For the one who has entered [God s] rest has himself also rested from his works, as God did from His. Therefore let us be diligent to enter that rest... (Heb. 4:10,11)....we...receive the promise of the Spirit through faith. (Gal 3:14)....having been exalted to the right hand of God, and having received from the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, He has poured forth this which you both see and hear. (Acts 2:33)....it is by faith, in order that it may be in accordance with grace, so that the promise will be guaranteed to all... (Rom. 4:16) But if it is by grace, it is no longer on the basis of works, otherwise grace is no longer grace. (Rom. 11:6)....God can be my strong security because I can be near to the fountain and God lets me take refuge in His presence... Draw near to God and He will draw near to you... (James 4:8) How precious is Your lovingkindness, O God! And the children of men take refuge...they drink their fill of the abundance of Your house; And You give them to drink of the river of Your delights. For with You is the fountain of life; In Your light we see light. (Psa. 36:7-9)...they walk in the light of Your countenance... (Psa. 89:15-17)...the one who comes to Me I will certainly not cast out. (John 6:37)...we have boldness and confident access through faith in Him (Eph. 3:12). for through Him we...have our access in one Spirit to the Father. (Eph. 2:18; see also Heb. 4). Let us go into His dwelling place; Let us worship at His footstool. (Psa. 132:7) Heaven is My throne and the earth is my footstool... (Isa. 66:1) The Lord make His face shine on you, And be gracious to you; The Lord lift up His countenance on you, And give you peace (Numb. 6:25,26).

Enjoying God as My Security 46...not from using self-contempt as a tool to keep me from opening up to the Lord. God is a better way to find security......not from my loving fear and disbelief as my best hope for a place of refuge. It is safer for me to make God my refuge......not from how well I keep them liking me. The approval and pleasure of God feeds me better. Lord, I face toward You......not from sympathy I get from people. God soothes me better His presence is easier to receive much more abundant......not from how well I hide in a cave of fear. God is a far safer place to hide because of His abundant grace to draw near......not by how well I cower and close up inside. Lord, I love that it is safe to draw near and stand open before You......not from......i turn away from having to achieve a sense of being secure by earthly means. I rest into trusting the abundant grace of God the power of His presence is far better. I love taking refuge in God... I will say to the Lord, My refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust! (Psa. 91:2)... I have become a marvel to many; for You are my strong refuge. (Psa. 71:7) Since I am afflicted and needy, Let the Lord be mindful of me. You are my help and my deliverer... O my God. (Psa. 18:2) I love You Lord, You are...my rock and my fortress. (Psa. 71:3)......the Lord will not abandon His people, Nor will He forsake [us as] His inheritance. (Psa. 94:14)... Though the fig tree should not blossom And there be no fruit on the vines, Though the yield of the olive should fail And the fields produce no food, Though the flock should be cut off from the fold And there be no cattle in the stalls, Yet I will exult in the Lord, I will rejoice in the God of my salvation. The Lord God is my strength, And He has made my feet like hinds' feet, And makes me walk on my high places. (Hab. 3:17-19)...those who know Your name will put their trust in You, For You, O Lord, have not forsaken those who seek You. God is my fortress not because of earning it because of grace......not by my trying to have people around me all the time. I will thrill my heart with the closeness of God......not by my giving people reason to keep saying or doing what makes me feel secure. I love taking refuge in God......Lord, I love that I don t have to earn the grace that allows me to have relationship with You. I grab my soul and turn it from having to earn God s presence. Heart hear this: it is the grace of God not what I achieve or earn. I love that I can turn and face my whole being toward God. Lord, I trust I am facing toward You......having been exalted to the right hand of God, and having received from the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, He has poured forth this which you both see and hear. (Acts 2:33)....we...receive the promise of the Spirit through faith. (Gal 3:14)....it is by faith, in order that it may be in accordance with grace, so that the promise will be guaranteed to all...
