The Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ The cup of salvation I will take up, and I will call upon the name of the LORD. The parish office schedules presiders, musicians in consultation with the family. PRECIOUS BLOOD On this solemnity we focus our attention on the Body and Blood of Christ. We listen to the story of the renewal of the old covenant, which Moses sealed by splashing the blood of animals on the altar of sacrifice, as well as on the people. Jesus, whose blood is the blood of the new covenant, shed that precious blood on the cross, saving us from sin and promising us everlasting life. Blood is the life source that courses through our bodies. The precious blood of Christ is the life source for our spirits. Today may we, like the psalmist, offer a sacrifice of thanksgiving to the Lord, whose Body and Blood strengthen us to bring the Good News to everyone we meet. How To Setup Your On-Line Giving http://www.corpuschristicos.org/church-giving/ You may also wish to contribute a restricted fund Fr. Bill Carmody Angel Fund Supports Corpus Christi Schoo via tuition assistance Capital Improvements New Heating & Air Conditioning Renovation of Bathrooms and Confessionals Ongoing facility capital improvements and maintenance OUR MISSION PLANS FOR THE FUTURE --- NEED YOUR GROWING SUPPORT! Our Capital Campaign Projects are underway! Our new heating/cooling system and remodeled confessionals and restrooms should be completed by mid-august. We are just 300,000 dollars away from reaching our goal of 1.4 Million! Please keep GIVING and VOTING (Beard or No Beard). You can use the white envelopes in the church pews or designate your gift on-line at www.corpuschristicos.org. We are looking to hire a part-time High School Youth Minister! A wonderful team of parents has led this ministry for the past 10 years. We thank them for the generous donation of their time, talent, and treasure to forming our young people as disciples of Jesus Christ. We look forward to hiring someone that they will continue to work with and to grow our high school youth ministry. Before our 98th school year begins in mid-august, I want to thank you for your great support of this mission of our Corpus Christi Parish. We serve the entire city of Colorado Springs and children come to us from all over El Paso County. We are the largest Catholic School in the southern half of our Diocese. Your prayers and financial giving are indispensable! Last year, we received unexpected notice that the Diocese was decreasing their financial assistance to needy children here at our school by 21 percent or 61,000 dollars. This was a surprise, to say the least, since our enrollment continues to grow with children needing financial aid. Nevertheless, we are committed to serving children desiring a Catholic School education. In the recent issue of Catholic Home Magazine published by our Diocese, Bishop Sheridan noted that, Catholic Schools do what no other schools are able to do... Good Catholic Schools cost money... Funding our schools will always prove to be a challenge. He went on to thank James Varrone and his family for leaving an endowment to help support us, but we need much, much more. Your extraordinary gifts to our Father Bill Carmody Angel Fund would make up the difference and are dedicated solely to help needy students. Even if you re traveling this Summer, you can still keep supporting our mission here at Corpus Christi. Go to our website: www.corpuschristicos.org and sign-up to give on-line! Keep Close to Corpus Christi! Rev. Mark Zacker
