Saints Alive!

A Message from the Dean An old way of organizing church life was to divide parish life into the four categories of worship, serving, learning and giving. This newsletter is a brief overview of how we will worship, learn, serve, and give at our Cathedral this fall. Please follow the newsletter and website for further details on the events listed below and on new opportunities as they arise. God Bless, Neil A Message from the Vicar The Reverend Quinn Strikwerda is the new vicar at All Saints Cathedral. If you haven t met him yet he s the dashingly handsome bearded bloke who s been showing up on Sunday mornings. He is also the writer of this third-person introduction! Quinn is passionate about social justice, delving into God s word, and living and sharing faith with others. Rev. Quinn comes to All Saints from a varied background. Formerly he was rector of St. Augustine s-parkland (2007-12) and most recently he was chaplain at the Edmonton Remand Centre (2012-17). He s also been at various times a butcher s assistant, world traveller, gas jockey, hotel clerk & manager, hospital chaplain, hardware clerk, juggler, summer camp director, grocery store manager, gardener, cook, night watchman, and general hangerabouter and student of life. Quinn is married to Madeleine Urion, also an Anglican priest. Together they have two sons, Samuel, age 10, and Liam, age 6. Currently they have no pets. Although the boys want a puppy, mom and dad aren t so sure. Quinn would love to connect with you. Please come and talk to him on Sundays so he doesn t get lonely, or call him anytime at 780-719-1548.

It offers a very tangible and real link to divine life. It teaches and guides us how we should live and be in the world. These Wednesday evening sessions offer both new ways to look at the Eucharist and to deepen our appreciation for this sacrament. The book we will follow during these sessions is Ronald Rolheiser s Our One Great Act of Fidelity and copies This runs from 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM, and follows the scripture readings for the coming Sunday.
