Pentecost XIX Proper 22 Rector s Message October 15, 2017 What is your Ministry Interests? The Christian vocation: We are fir st and foremost called to be faithful Disciples of Jesus Christ. As the baptised we are called to prayer, worship and witness. Lector - The ministry of reading and proclaiming the Word of God. The Sunday School - Nurturing the Next Generation - The Sunday School Ministry of the Anglican Church has been a vibrant part of the church s ministry. Many of the present leaders of our church were nurtured in our Sunday Schools. We continue to make the Sunday School a place where our children experience the wonder of God, learn to appreciate Anglican rituals and use the Gospel to address their everyday needs and concerns. We are always in need of Sunday School teachers and benefactors. The Servers Guild - This group assists the Clergy at Sunday Services and special services, weddings and funerals. They meet every 2 nd and 4 th Saturday of each month. Training of new servers is about to begin, interested persons please speak to a current server or contact the church office. Creative Arts - Worship through the Creative Arts - which utilizes singing, music, drama and dance - is a highly specialised ministry, and one which has been practised by the church for centuries. Special training and expertise enhance latent talents in individuals who then express worship to God in a creative manner. Prayer Ministry - A Prayer Ministry can take on many formats; personal, with a prayer partner, corporate church praying and so on. Whatever the form, whoever might be involved, we should want our praying to be effective. Church members can pursue the relational aspect in prayer, understand its purpose, be impassioned, view prayer as a priority, know its power, adhere to scriptural principles, and make it a personal practice in their own lives. We extend a warm welcome to all visitors worshipping with us today, especially Canon Glenville Edwards and his wife Colette, and Canon Calvin McIntyre and his wife Camille. Sirrano+ 2.

Gradual - If you only knew the blessing If you only knew the blessing that salvation gives You would never, never stay away. If you only see the table spread with lovely things You would come to the feast today. For when the door is open wide And the Saviour bid you come There is nothing you have to fear Be now wise and step inside and never be like those Who throw their lovely chances away. The Creed I believe in Jesus I believe He is the Son of God I believe He died and rose again I believe He paid for us all And I believe He is here now Standing in our midst Here With the power to heal now And the grace to forgive I believe in You, Lord I believe You are the Son of God I believe You died and rose again I believe You paid for us all. And I believe You're here now Standing in our midst Here With the power to heal now And the grace to forgive. Refrain: Leader: Loving Lord as you have served us All: So empower us to serve others Offertory: I Know Who I Am We are a chosen generation Called forth to show His excellence All I require for life, God has given me And I know who I am I know who God says I am What He says I am Where He says I'm at I know who I am I m walking in power, I m walking miracles I live a life of favour, 'Cause I know who I am (Rept) [Repeat from the top] Oh oh oh, oh oh oh I know who I am (Repeat) I am holy, I am righteous oh I am so rich, I am beautiful I m walking in power, I m walking miracles I live a life of favour, 'Cause I know who I am (Repeat) Take a look at me, I m a wonder It doesn t matter what you see now Can you see His glory? Faith Formation and Christian Education Did you know? The National Heroes of Jamaica emerged at a time when the Jamaican people were under the colonial power of the British Crown. They changed the course of Jamaica s history (by giving social and political freedom to its people), as well as challenged the institution of colonialism (by standing up for the people of the country). (Jamaica remembers National Heroes, 2017) Quote for Reflection Prayer in action is love, and love in action is service. Try to give unconditionally whatever a person needs in the moment. The point is to do something, however small, and show you care through your actions by giving your time " (Mother Teresa n.d.) Question Do you know of anyone in need of assistance of any form?
