Keeper of Cob s Message Hi cousins Well as you know, everything must end sometime, regardless of our position or status! That time has come for me to step down from my post as Imperial KOTC. I am stepping down because of sickness at home. The decision was one that I had to make for the sake of my family! It has been an honor and a pleasure serving you the past years! The many Shrine hillbillies I have met over the years have only reinforced my belief of how great a Shrine sideline degree it really is! I have enjoyed my time working with the other officers and meeting so many Shrine Hillbillies. Message from Your Canadian Ambassador Hello Cuzzins. I got a call from Cuzzin Lyle Cavanagh about Clan 149 doing a Hillbilly degree in August. Lyle told me it is the same weekend as the Northeast Shrine Association Convention. Lyle is the Oriental Guide of Tunis Shriners and the Raban of Moonliter Hillbilly Clan 149. I asked him what night were they planning to do the degree. He said it looks like Thursday the rest of the weekend is busy. I asked how many and what time was it going to start. He said around 8.00 PM. so when we got there, I asked how many were going to take the degree He said I do not know. About 8.30PM 2 school buses came driving down the road and came in and with about 80 Shriners and Ladies got off the bus. So about 10.00 PM. we initiated about 60 Flat landers and 30 Ladies it was a great night. I have not seen that many Shriners and Ladies taking the degree at one time. Out of all of this I think that One or two Shrine Temples have been talking to Harry Steel about getting the Hillbillies going in their Temples again. I know that I was happy to see this done and I know that Cuzzin Lyle was happy also. As you can see by the picture how many were there. At Clan 46 in Toronto we are busy doing parades and having Chow Downs. For the 4 out houses they are busy also doing pig roasts BBQ s and clan functions. Over all we are trying to get new members and support our goal by having fun and helping our Kids and the Hospitals. JIm Rennie Canadian Ambassador.
