Your light has come, the glory of the Lord shines upon you (Isaiah 60:1). That reading goes on to describe a world covered with darkness. Even in that world, the prophet announces that the glory of the Lord will shine on Jerusalem. Many would agree that our world is covered with darkness the darkness that war, terrorism, and famine bring. Today we announce that even in today s world, the Lord can scatter that darkness, if only we would welcome Epiphany s light. As we remember the visit of the magi to the manger, let us pray that one day our weary world will rise up in splendor the splendor of peace and justice. Copyright, J. S. Paluch Co. The volunteers of the Soup Kitchen want to pass along to St. Joseph s Community the many thanks received from our diners, for the annual Thanksgiving and Christmas Dinners. Your response to our pleas was really outstanding in these hard times and all left with a full belly. At both dinners we served around 250 people. Our cooks, George and Randy did an outstanding job running the kitchen with lots of help, and our many volunteers served, cleaned and helped clean up. We want to especially thank those who donated food and cash anonymously All during the year to keep us delivering good meals almost every week of the year and supplying a little extra help to those who have homes, in the form of non perishable food. Please keep your prayers coming in these hard times. Again, THANKS. Soup Kitchen will resume on January 2nd.
