ب س م الل ه ال رح م ن ال رح يم St. Paul of early Christianity vs Khalifa Sani of early Ahmadiyya St Paul A comparative analysis Paul was originally named Saul after the Hebrew king Saul, he was born at Tarsus. He was circumcised on eighth day according to the Jewish laws. He was raised as a pharasaical Jew. Paul received a formal training in the Jewish law for the preparation to become a Rabbi. During his early days he was one of the biggest enemies of Jesus and he was even involved in the persecution of the Jesus and his disciples. Paul not only persecuted but also took part in the stoning of St. Stephen, the first Christian martyr. Paul is known as one of the earliest Christian missionaries, along with Saint Peter and James. He was also known as Paul the Apostle, the Apostle Paul and the Paul of Tarsus. However, he preferred to call himself 'Apostle to the Gentiles'. Gentiles were the non Jewsih people living in the Jerusalaml from Greeko-Roman descends. Paul was an excellent debater and polemicist, (a person who knows the art of dispute). His letters and speeches were the matter of great controversy in his days and centauries after among Christian. Conversion to Christianity Paul became a Christian after experiencing a vision of Christ during a journey from Jerusalem to Damascus and this vision led to his conversion and the conviction that he was

to bring Christianity to the Gentiles. Paul claimed that he perceived the revelation of Jesus Christ to mark the end of all religions, and thus of all religious distinctions. Upon returning to Jerusalem from Damascus as a Christian missionary, the judaizers were wary about his conduct and transformation until St. Barnabas one of the disciples of Jesus perceived his sincerity. He worked in Jerusalem, Antioch, Cyprus, Asia Minor, Greece, Ephesus Macedonia, and Achaia Influence on Christianity St. Paul is said to have the greatest influence on Christianity. He was no doubt is the founder of the today s man made Christianity. His greatest mission was to convert Gentiles (non Jewish) into Christianity without educating or converting them into Judaism. By doing this he achieved his hidden agenda of separation of the early Jewish reform movement from its parent religion. It was a matter of great dispute among the Judaizers ( the real followers of Jesus who practiced Judaism and believed in one God) and Paul whether conversion should be extended to the non Jewish (that is, the Greco-Roman population of the Roman Empire) or whether it should remain restricted to the Jewsih comunities throughout the empire. The inclusion of non-jews into Christianity caused controversy within the early Christians however many early Christians believed that Gentile converts should follow the teachings of Judaism in addition to the Christian practices. Paul was of the opinion that Gentile converts need not become Jews, get circumcised, follow Jewish dietary restrictions or, observe Jewish Law. He was the first and the only who insisted that faith in Christ was sufficient for salvation and that the Torah did not bind Gentile Christians. Therefore he made conversion more esier and attractive for Gentiles into christianity. After gaining a collection of converts and strength, Paul set up a church community with the help of the local leaders and fixed meeting places, generally one of the member s 2

homes. Hence he established a community with little influence of Judaism and more so to keep the community in firm bondage he also built new concepts and teachings which were never existed or practiced by Jesus or his disciples. These were the initiative of the Paul in early Christianity which were opposed by the Judaizres.Judiazers were the people who belives on Jesus as a prophet and follow the old Testament. Abondoning Circumcision Paul abondoned the practice of circumcisiion. This decision contributed to the rapid spread of Christianity among pegans and gentiles. Holy Trinity Jesus taught people to worship Lord the only God. When asked to Jesus Which commandment is the most important to all? Jesus replied, the most important one is this Listen, O Israel! The Lord, our God is the only Lord. Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind and with all your strength. In contrast to the teaching of the Jesus and Torah, Paul introduced new concept of Holy Trinity that means that God is existed as three persons in one the father (Lord), son (Jesus) and the Holy Spirit. Resurrection The concept of resurrection was originated by the Paul that means that the rising of the Jesus from the tomb three days after his death. And His exaltation to God's right hand after the Resurrection. Redemption 3

Paul also developed the concept of Redemption through faith in Christ. That means that faith in Christ will be suffice for forgiveness as Jesus sacrificed for the rest of the mankind. Paul, through his writing, gave hope to everyone belonging to Christ, dead or alive, that they would be saved. By doing this he was attracting Pagans and Gentiles to accept and converts into this new faith. His mission was to convert more and more people into new faith with no education about Judaism. Paul and Judaizers Paul was opposed by Judaizers. Judaizers were those who practice the teaching of Jesus and enforced the belief that Gentiles the new converts from the non jewish background had to live like jews and observe the Law of Torah. These are the some of the accusation held by Judaizers about Paul s image preaching the false message of Jesus. The Judaizers said that Paul had no regard for the Law of Moses. They called him a traitor to the Jewish faith. The Judaizers accused that Paul was taking the truth and changing it to meet his own goals. He was accused of being the man pleaser rather than a God pleaser. The Judaizers said that Paul stretched the truth of the gospel so more people would follow him. Missionary Journey s and Travel Paul travel extensively and spread the Christianity in a very short time span. Paul s greatest impact on Christian history comes from his letters, which are the most influential books of the New Testament after the Gospels of Matthew and John. Paul s letters inspired Christian thinkers for the next several centuries to attempt to find a satisfactory explanation of the relationship between the Jesus and God the Father. Death by Punishment 4

Upon his return to Jerusalem, he was attacked and imprisoned for his preaching. He acquitted and returned to Ephesus. Paul was beheaded in Rome during the persecution of Nero and is buried where the basilica of St. Paul. The date of his death is thought to be June 29, 65 AD. There is no doubt that Paul had profound effect on the development of Christian faith. Today s Christianity is totally fabricated and all the credit goes to Paul so called the Apostles to the Gentiles or in other words the Musleh Maud who raised as an enemy of Jesus and after the Jesus completely revamped the whole faith and mission of a prophet of God. Hadhrat Promised Messiah (as) says about the Paul: Fountain of Christianity page no 55-56 English editions If Paul was indeed meant to appear as an apostle after the Messiah, the latter should have foretold something about him. This was necessary because Paul had bitterly opposed Jesus throughout his life, and had contrived to harm him in every way. How could such a person be trusted after Jesus death unless he himself made a clear prophecy that, although Paul has been my bitter enemy and has done me great harm, he will become an Apostle and a holy man after I have gone. This was all the more important that because Paul gave the teaching which was against the Torah, and declared the eating the flesh of swine to be lawful and even abolish the divine commandment regarding circumcision, although it had been greatly stressed in the Torah and all prophets-including the Messiah himself--- had been circumcised. He also replaced the teachings of Torah regarding the Oneness of God with the teaching of the Trinity and declared it unnecessary to follow the commandments of the Torah, and turned away from the holy temple. It was, therefore, essential that some prophecy should have been made regarding this person who played such havoc with the Mosaic Law. But in the absence of any such prophecy in the Gospel and in view of his hostility towards Jesus and his opposition to the timeless commandments of the Torah, is there any reason at all why he should be accepted as a sage. 5

Khalifa Sani Birth and Early Age Khalifa Sani was accused of fornication in the life time of Hadhrat Promised Messiah. A commission was established under the supervision of Mulvi Noor ud din to investigate this matter. Mulvi Muhammad Ali and some other main companions were members of this commission. But subsequently this commission was resolved on the request of Hadhrat Amma Jan the mother of Khalifa Sani. However this accusation was not the only accusation of its own. In fact there were hundreds of accusations been made on his character by his own relatives and Ahmadis in his close circle. Like Paul, khalifa Sani was involved in the persecution the companions of premised Messiah one such example is the family of Hadhrat Mulvi Noruddin Khalfa tul masih first. His children were the victims of fearsome persecution and finally they were expelled from Jam at and subsequently forced to leave Rabwah. There were hundreds of example of persecution towards pious companion of promised Messiah and ordinary Ahmadis wre also victims of his brutal regimes. One such example is of Fakhur uddin Multani a pious Ahmadi, who was murdered in the street of Qadian. Fakhar uddin Multani was murdered after an inflammatory sermon delivered by khalifa sani. Similarly Abdul Rehman Misri, another pious Ahmadi and companion of promised Messiah was a victim of his brutal campaign of persecution. Like Paul of Christianity, Khalifa Sani was also an excellent debater and polemicist. His sermons and speeches were the matter of great controversy in his days and among the companions of Promised Messiah. Like Paul who preferred to call himself the Apostle of Gentiles Khalifa sani s hidden agenda was to capture the prophecy of Musleh Maud. In order to achieved his mission he started working towards it in the life time of Hadhrat Khalifa tul messhi Awaal. Influence on Ahmadiyyat Ahmadiyya Trinity 6

Similar to Paul s Trinity concept Khalifa sani introduced a vague triune of Jam at, Nizame- Jama at and Khilafat.. There has been much written into this strange relationship and unfortunately in this mind boggling relationship a simple Ahmadi has been forced to leave God. He put Khilafat above all and Nizam-e- Jam at as spying body on the Ahmadis. Under the umbrella of Nizam he created several offices and Ahmadis were divided into different categories. The concept similar to paul s concept of Holy Spirit was developed. Influence of Christian Khilafat Khalifa Sani was greatly inspired by the Christian Khilafat and its unbroken continuity. He established similar kind of Electoral College for the selection of the khalifa. In contrast to the understanding of the Hazrat Maulana Nur ud Din that Anjaman is the electoral body for the selection of Khalifa. He originated the concept that it is the Allah who appoints Khalifa as he appoints prophets. During the election process it is the God Almighty who chooses the person who is most eligible and guides a group of pious believers into manifesting His Will through a process of selection of Khalifa. Thus he established a concept that Khalifa is actually the representative of God on the earth and beyond any doubts and concerns. This is exactly the same theology which Christian papacy is based upon. By creating this vague non Islamic concept in Ahmadiyat, khalifa Sani actually initiated the concept of redemption through faith in Khilafat like Paul s concept of redemption through faith in Christ. Therefore Ahmadis are expected to show complete obedience and total faith in Khilafat Khalifa Sani says; "We should not just look only the bad things of Christians; rather, we must look upon the good things too. Till today, while, 2000 years have been passed to Hazrat Masih, they have protected his khilafat. Thus, 2000 years have been passed to Hazrat masih, but Christians are continuously preaching Christianity. And up to now, Khilafat is established in them.. 7

Hence, Hazrat Masih about whom Hazrat Promised messiah said, that Allah has given me high status over him. Their Ansaar showed such enthusiasm & passion, that they have protected their khilafat from the past 2000 years. Because they knew that if khilafat get demolished, the name of Hazrat Masih would also be erased from this world. No doubt that in the beginning of Christianity one follower of Hazrat Masih, put him for sale to enemies only per 30 rupees. But now in Christianity there are such people exists who spend Billions of rupees for the propagation of Christianity and for showing that Hazrat Masih is the son of God."(Sabil ul Irshad. volume 1. page 117) Widening the gap between Muslim and Ahmadis. Like Paul, Khalif sani also worked towards separating the Ahmadis from main stream wider Muslim community. He achieved it by emphasizing on the Khilafat and also by exaggerating the claims of Hadhrat Promised Messiah. He called his fellow Muslim Kafir for not believing the Hadhrat Promised Mesiah (As) His remarks produced strings of reaction not only among Muslims and also among the companion s of Promised Messiah..all those so-called Muslims who have not entered into his bai'at formally, wherever they may be, are Kafirs and outside the pale of Islam, even though they may not have heard the name of the Promised Messiah." (The Truth about the Split, first published 1924; 3rd edition, Rabwah, Pakistan, 1965, pp. 55-56.). Khalifa sani s remarks were in contrast to the education of the Promised Messiah. Promised Messiah says: " It is a matter of amazement that a person who professes the Kalima, follows the Qibla, believes in One God, believes in and truly loves Allah and His Messenger, and believes in the Quran, should on account of some secondary difference be declared a kafir like Jews and Christians, in fact even a worse kafir. Learned people know that there were great differences among the Companions of the Holy Prophet. There was none of them who did not have any difference. But no one called anyone else as kafir. (Ainah Kamalat Islam, p. 259; Ruhani Khaza in, v. 5, p. 258, 259) 8

Missionary Journeys and Tours abroad There is no doubt that like Paul, Khalifa sani also travelled quite extensively and build mosques, mission houses and established different trusts and Chanda Jaat. Khalifa sani tried to spread Ahmadiyyat in Europe, Africa and former Soviet Union. In spite of resources and 52 years of his reign and the title of Musleh Maud and claimed to be the Musleh Maud he hardly converted neighbouring villages into the fold of Islam and Ahmadiyat. He visited Europe twice, first in 1924, to participate in the Wembley Conference along with 12 companions, breaking journey at Damascus, Palestine and Egypt. He met Mussolini in Italy. Interesting dream and claimed for Promised Reformer. Like his predecessor Paul, Khalifa sani also based his claim upon vision coupled with revelation which he experienced on 7/8 January 1944.On January 28 1944 in the Friday sermon in Qadian he publicly announced his claim of Muslah Maud. There is no doubt that Khalifa Sani attempted to claim to be the promised Reformer soon after becoming Khalifa. But due to the fearsome opposition of the companion of Promised messiah he was not immediately succeeded in his mission. However In order to fulfill the prophecy he started working on it with his henchmen. Finally in March 1944 he fulfilled his long standing desire and claimed for the promised son of Hadhrat Promised Messiah. Divine support and His Claim. Holy Quran---- Al-Haqqah Chapter 69 V 45-48) 45) And if he had forged and attributed and sayings to Us, 46) We would surely have seized him by the right hand, 47) And then surely We would have served his life artery, 48) And not one of you could have held Us off from him. 9

A liar s getting a reprieve of 23 years is clearly a proof that every single liar could get such a reprieve (RK v 17 pp 430-431) All books of God Almighty testify to this fact that God swiftly arrest a forger and makes him perish with great humiliation.2 (RK v.20 page 64) Khalifa sani only lived for 21 years after his claim of Promised Reformer and out of 21 years he spent ten years in intense pain and humiliation. He was rendered incapable both physically and mentally after a stab wound to his neck. During his illness he was not capable to fulfil his public duties and even could not lead the Friday prayers. Death by Punishment On March 10th, 1954 Khalifa sani was attacked with a knife to the side of the neck while he was leading the Asr prayer in Rabwah. He sustained a deep wound injury and also left with broken point of knife embedded in the wall of Jugular vein. He bled massively and required emergency surgery to stop bleeding but injury affected on his nervous system and his condition both physically and mentally went on deteriorating and left him completely dependent and immobile.. Ch. Zafarullah Khan says in his book He was examined very thoroughly by top experts in Zurich, Hamburg and London with such assistance that could be drawn from X-Ray impressions ets, and unanimous conclusion was that the point of knife was broken at the Jagular vein and was embedded in it. The expert advice was that no attempt should be made to extricate it as risk to his life involved in any such operation was too serious to be worth taking. ( Ahmadiyyatthe rainassance of Islam page no 332/Tabshir publication/ 1978). Subsequently his health gradually deteriorated and he became paralysed which left him mentally and physically incapable to perform his divine duties. He died as result of his injury after ten years of intense suffering, humiliation and pain on 8 th of November 1965.He had 52 years of khilafat from 1914 to 1965 and out of that he had eight years of utter misery before of his death. 10

Hadhrat Promised Messiah Says: With regard to the death of certain person, Allah revealed to me through the value of the letters of the alphabet that the date was comprised in the words of the revelation. (Arabic) He is a dog and he will die according to the value of the letters in the word dog; which amounts to fifty two. This means that his age will not exceed fifty- two years and that he will die with in the course of his fifty-second year.(izala Auham pp 186-187) Prophecy of Hadhrat Promised Messiah about? Thereafter, there was a revelation which I am not permitted to disclose. It is possible that permission might be given later. Its first sentence is ( Urdu) Look I present to you a very secret matter An extremely horrendous act which all the time keeps my heart saddened. A prophecy has been conveyed to me several times by God Almighty which I have not disclosed to anyone except my wife. The incidence of one part of it comprehends you (Nawab Muhammad Ali Khan) and us. I continue to supplicate earnestly that God might be pleased to avert it. And the incidence of its second part particularly affects us and some one related to our home. (Letter no 34/97 Maktoobat Ahmadiyya, vol V11 part 1 Page 45) Tadhikra page no 627 Urdu Edition There is no doubt that Khalifa Sani has profound affect in the development and spread of Ahmadiyya comunity. Today s Ahmadiyyat is fabricated and all the credit goes to Khalifa Sani so called the Musleh Maud. He was a hidden enemy who brought up in the house of promised Messiah and once after capturing the seat of Khilafat he completely revamped the whole faith and mission of a prophet of God. There is no doubt that his role in Ahmadiyya is very similar to the role of St Paul of early Christianity. ----The End---- 11
