Summertime is a GIFT July-August 2018 Newsletter Sometimes, our routines change in the summer months. We want to spend more time outside and more time with family and friends. Sabbath rest is a gift from God and fellowship with family and friends is a gift from God, too! No matter how you enjoy summer, I hope you still connect with your Faith Family at Living Hope. Growing In Faith Together is a GIFT to share! Summer Sermon Series / Sunday Worship Sunday morning worship service continues all Summer long at 10:30am. Sundays July 15 August 26 we ll study the New Testament book of Ephesians together in a sermon series called GIFT: Growing in Faith together. Outdoor Service / Wednesday Worship Wednesday evenings all summer (NOT July 4 th ) we meet at 6:30pm for Bible Study, worship, and fellowship outside around the fire pit if it s sunny or in the fireside room if it s rainy. Join us any Wednesday you re able; bring an outdoor chair and dress for the weather. Taking Faith Home/ Take Home Church Box Sometimes, you just can t get to church on either Sunday or Wednesday. In that case, make sure you take faith home! Pick up a Journey with Jesus picture, a Taking Faith Home devotion book, or a Take Home Church box to ensure that no matter your age or life stage, you re able to connect with God through Scripture, prayer, and music all summer long. Other Connections We can grow in faith together in many and various ways, through prayer, service, and connections: Share your musical skills during a worship service Volunteer to care for a part of our church s landscaping Bring or mail in your financial donation to the LH sign fund Purchase a SCRIP card from church before you shop Join the prayer chain Sign up for the Bike Ride for Hope on Saturday Sept 8, either as a rider or a volunteer https://outreachforhope.org/bike-ride-2/ Consider how you can participate in Children & Youth Ministry at LH this fall: serving in the nursery, co-teaching Sunday School, mentoring a confirmation youth, leading an event? Contact me at pastorkelly@livinghopesaukville.org or Shannon at shannon@livinghopesaukville.org to learn more about any of those ideas, and check out the rest of this newsletter for even more opportunities! No matter how we Grow In Faith Together, whether through worship, prayer, music, donations, or volunteering, God will bless our time together, and enable us to grow in faith. Summer fun is underway. The teachers and children have been enjoying the summer weather, with lots of outside play time and fun water games and activities. We have spruced up our outdoor classroom with help from Blake Deswarte s Eagle scout project, and an outdoor kitchen made from an old sink and pallets by Matt Stefanski. Both of these volunteers did so much to make our outdoor experiences extra fun and full of learning opportunities. Our school age summer camp friends have some extra special activities again this year, including yoga, crafts with Ms Beki, Wednesday Kidsafe/martial arts program, Nature Time with Ms Melissa, and Tuesday JAM with Pastor Kelly. One of our members, Dorothy Lloyd, has been struggling to make meals for she and her husband, Dan, because she has been so weak. Please consider helping provide meals for the Lloyds on Tuesday or Thursday, now through July. Use the following link to sign up: www.takethemameal.com/ozmz1650 You may need the Recipient's Last Name (Lloyd) and a Password (4270). See the signup page for dietary restrictions.
