Bench possibly with Shirley Stanley s name on it. 3 Ministry Scheduler Pro Leader: Jack / 5 mins How is it going? adding musician and cantor adding additional (special) masses -Added presider. Included Ash Wednesday Masses -trial period ends this month and the general consensus is to keep moving forward with it -explore the option of text messaging at an additional cost of $120/year. Students would prefer this. into the environment -ambo candle removed for season, prefer to bring back Music changes -fit in a little note in the bottom of the worship aids about Turn Away from Sin by Manalo 5 Feedback: Ash Wednesday Leader: Kevin R / 5 mins Morning prayer - non-denominational (all traditions): 8:05am Masses: 6:30 am, Noon, 7 pm Ashes distributed around campus (all traditions): 10:42 am & 2:12 pm -great attendance at all three of the Masses as well as participation with the music -6:30am half-full, noon and 7 pm were full with students and other adults -around 180 students received in at the times of distribution around campus 6 Upcoming: Bishop s Mass (Feb 25th) Leader: Carol / 5 mins Presiding at 7 pm Mass -All paperwork completed and okay -Pizzas after Mass to keep students around a little bit for meet/greet with the Bishop; members of Parish Council (particularly the students) should get the word out in the residence halls 7 Upcoming: Campus-wide Stations of the Cross Leader: Fr. Mike / 5 mins Wednesday, March 7th at 6:15 pm -Carol, Jason Salsbury, & Fr. Mike have been planning this -They will be carrying the large cross around and within campus, -Follow up w/fr. Mike about a marketing blurb for both SNC News and to other parishes 8 Upcoming: St. Joseph Novena Leader: Fr. Mike / 5 mins March 10-19th 9-day Novena Daily Mass (noon) throughout week, followed by Novena prayers St. Joseph statue moving into church March 17th, Bishop Ricken will be presiding March 19th is the Solemnity of St. Joseph - Mass is 4:30 pm (Carol is working with Fr. Frisch to plan music.) -Daily Mass will still be every day at noon, even though it is spring break -Daily Mass will be enhanced with music (same opening and closing as well as the Mass Acclamations) 9 Future Holy Week Liturgies (60+ days) Leader: Kevin R / 25 mins Palm Sunday (March 25th 10 a.m & 7 pm) *What arrangements are needed? Andrew Easter Vigil (March 31st 8 pm) Presider: TBD * Same as above - Gloria (w/ bells) - Footwashing - Last year was in the center of the church - After you get your feet washed, you are the foot washer for the next person - Continue with station to keep the spiritual practice of getting feet washed and washing a neighbor s - We could have one station that is static, such as an elderly member - Need to find volunteers for the first round - Tweek from last year s Palm Sunday bulletin a blurb about footwashing - Eucharistic procession/reposition in shrine *Same as above - Passion readers - Can practice after Holy Thursday Mass in church - Solemn Intercessions - Veneration of cross *Same as above - Fire/paschal candle/vigil candles - Fire pit in the center of the circle of the cul de sac - Exsultet - Even readings (plus #3) - Possibility of doing the even number readings in even years and odd number readings in odd years - This would allow all readings over 2 years - Gloria (w/bells) Lights on! - 12 RCIA candidates and 1 girl being baptized - Rites of Initiation & Renewal of Baptismal Promises w/ sprinkling - Wine/Beer and cheese for after the Vigil - Ask parish members to do a potluck type event? Andrew) Candle stand next to Ambo Initial planning meeting was 2/15 (Carol to report) - Follow up meeting scheduled with Paul Mashl for technical needs - Discuss to try to get our people involved in the music and let the selection be some things that we typically sing -the candle stands at the ambo and the altar should Match -the cost for the wrought iron stand originally discussed would be covered by the donor -the stands suggested by Kerry wouldn t match existing stands. Additional stand purchases would be required and the cost would then exceed the money promised by the two donors. -recommending we to look at acquiring/purchasing a set of four stands: 1 at ambo, 2 for altar, and 1 for Easter candle Alb for Minister of the Altar/Acolyte Other Worship-related observations Thank you Parishioner request for consideration; tabled to next meeting Briefly discussed occasional microphone popping. 2017/2018 Liturgy/Worship Committee Meetings Sept. 10 - start up/introductions/overview of upcoming year, Fall Liturgical Minister Training Oct. 15 - Fall Ordinary Time, All Saints/All Souls, Thanksgiving, begin talking about Advent Nov. 5 - Advent/Christmas, begin talking about Lent December- NO meeting Jan. 21 - Ash Wednesday, Lent, Holy Week Feb. 18 - Holy Week Mar. 4 - Holy Week, Baccalaureate April 22 - Baccalaureate, end of year wrap-up, advance plan/goals for next year (Each meeting will take place in the Pennings Room at church immediately following 10 am Sunday Mass and last about an hour. One exception: On October 15th the meeting is scheduled for 5 pm following the Packer game.
