MISSION UKRAINE 2018 Master Singers and Michael Gott PRAYER GUIDE April 16 27, 2018 Because God is the living God, He can hear; Because He is a loving God, He will hear; Because He is our covenant-keeper, He has bound Himself to hear. C. H. Spurgeon Here is the promise we have: our gracious God has never once refused to hear any of His children who went as far as from earth to heaven on their knees to ask Him for something. Michael Gott Work for God as if everything depended upon your work; but pray to God as if everything depended upon your prayers. William Booth Mission Ukraine 2018 Guide to Prayer (Page 1 of 9)

Here is how you can pray for the mission in Ukraine each day, beginning April 16. First, remember the time difference Ukraine is 8 hours ahead of Central Standard Time. At 7:00 a.m. CST it s 3:00 p.m. in Ukraine. So we especially need you to pray for us when you wake up and off and on until 3 p.m. your time each day. That s when we will be most busy and challenged. Most concerts are between 10:00 a.m. and noon Texas time (7:00 p.m. in Ukraine). We ask you to pray fervently each day. We believe that the success of this evangelistic mission is greatly increased by your prayers as our God hears and answers. We cannot do this alone. We depend on you to pray for God s triumph in this mission. April 16 Monday various flights Travel Day The choir and support staff depart from home cities, flying overnight eastward toward Europe and Ukraine. Pray for on-time flights and safe travel. Pray that the instruments and bags will be transferred and loaded correctly each time the mission team changes planes. Pray for supernatural rest and comfort during travel. Pray for the pastor and director in each Ukrainian city as they complete preparations for the evangelistic concerts where the Master Singers will sing and Michael Gott will preach Christ. Pray for Michael Gott International s staff as they double check all venues and complete all tasks. Ask God to give them the joy of work well done! April 17 Tuesday Kiev Travel Day The groups will transfer in various European airports to flights to their destination Kiev, Ukraine. Pray for on-time, problem-free transfers at airports as mission team members board their final flight into Kiev. Pray again that bags and instruments will arrive with the group. Afternoon arrivals at Kiev Borispil Airport and bus transfers 2 hours west to Zhitomir for dinner and overnight in a hotel. Pray for excellent coaches and drivers for this mission that will take the choir and team over 1,000 miles of Ukrainian highway in 10 days. Pray for ease with check-in at the hotel in Zhitomir. Pray for the health and stamina of each person on the mission team. Pray for immediate unity of Michael Gott International leadership and staff and Master Singers leadership and choir. Ask God to make them one in Christ. (Romans 12:5 apply it.) Pray that each mission team member will be filled with expectancy about what God will do through them. Pray for a good night s rest and for adjustment to the time change. Pray daily for the person who enlisted you to pray for this mission. Mission Ukraine 2018 Guide to Prayer (Page 2 of 9)

April 18 Wednesday Ternopil First Ministry Day Five-hour morning bus transfer from Zhitomir to Ternopil, population 215,600. Concert one. Ternopil is one of the three most under-evangelized regions of Ukraine due largely to the strong influence of the Russian Orthodox Church and seminary there. The Baptist church in Ternopil is weak. This is the first time that Baptists have filled a major auditorium to evangelize their city. Ask God to bless their faith with a harvest and open doors. This team has already traveled for 2 days, and this makes 3. Ask God to give them rest on the 5-hour bus journey. Pray that the great spiritual need in Ternopil will overcome any tiredness felt by mission team members. Pray for Director Larry Grayson and all the singers and instrumentalists as they prepare for their first concert. Pray wisdom for MGI (Michael Gott International) leadership Michael and Jan Gott, and Amy Pannell. They have organized and will administrate this mission. Pray strength for the MGI Ukrainian staff headed by Kseniya (Ksusha) Bondarenko. This team of dedicated Christian young people will travel and live with the mission team. They will interpret and work in every area of the evangelistic concert tour. Ask God to bless the Prayer Team that is made up of American team members and Ukrainian believers. Prayer teams will pray during every concert in all 8 cities. Pray for the 7:00 p.m. concert at Ternopil Theater Hall (960 seats). Pray that beginning in this first concert the whole team will have a heavy burden to see the audience men, women, boys and girls put all of their faith in Christ. Pray for the media team. Pray that the media presentation will have great impact as the words of songs and sermon are projected on two huge screens in Ukrainian language so that the message of forgiveness through Christ can be understood when it is sung and preached. Ask God to give the interpreter Valera Tseona and Michael Gott one heart as they proclaim the message of forgiveness through Christ. Pray for the follow-up team who will begin contacting those who say yes to the call to come to Christ immediately after the concert is over. After the concert the team will go back to the hotel for dinner. Pray that they will sleep well through this second night in Ukraine. Mission Ukraine 2018 Guide to Prayer (Page 3 of 9)

April 19 Thursday Ivano Frankivsk Second Ministry Day After breakfast and 9:30 a.m. devotional the team will transfer 2 hours to Ivano Frankivsk, population 230,700. Concert two. Ivano Frankivsk is a regional capital. It is traditionally a Roman Catholic city since it was in Poland until 1945. Today it has fewer than 5% evangelicals claiming Christ alone for salvation. Pray that the daily devotionals will minister to each team member at the point of their need. Ask God to use devotional times to give the team one heart and purpose. Pray for the team as they move daily from city to city. Good organization is important, but it is God s hand of blessing that is crucial. Pray that God will give the team good health and energy. Pray that lost, hurting people will see the banners and posters in the city and the pop-up adds on their computers and come to the concert. Praise God for the Baptist Church and the Evangelical Church in Ivano Frankivsk and the many volunteers who have prepared so well for this evening s evangelistic concert. Pray again that an overwhelming burden will be felt in the heart of each team member to see Ukrainians come to saving knowledge of Christ. Pray for the bus drivers who will travel with and live with the team. Pray that they will see Christ in the lives of the team, hear the message of Christ and be saved. Pray for the 7:00 p.m. concert at Academic Regional Music Theater in Ivano Frankivsk 980 seats. Pray that when the choir begins to sing Christian songs, the audience will be glued in their seats and feel deeply, This is something I need. Pray for strong conviction and drawing by the Holy Spirit. Pray for deep joy in each team member s heart as they go back to the hotel in Ivano Frankivsk for dinner and a good night of rest. April 20 Friday Chernivtsi Third Ministry Day After breakfast and devotional the team will transfer 2 and ½ hours to the regional capital of Chernivtsi, population 266,000. Concerts three and four. Chernivtsi before WWII, was the Polish city of Stanislav. It is now a Ukrainian regional capital that is famous for it s architecture and university. It has three Baptist congregations that are cooperating to fill the concert hall for two concerts. The musicians, evangelist and interpreter are now entering the most demanding days of the mission. Ask God to lift them up in heart and voice so that they can continue to lift up Christ. Mission Ukraine 2018 Guide to Prayer (Page 4 of 9)

Ask God for the spirit of refreshing faith from Christ to come to everyone during the daily devotional time. (Philemon 1:6-7) Pray for the follow-up teams in Ternopil and Ivano Frankivsk. Pray that God is exalted in music and message this evening in the: 5:30 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. concerts at Chernivtsi Philharmonic Center 570 seats. Ask God to fill it twice with hopeless, searching people! Pray for each person at this concert to stay through the message and that the convicting power of the Holy Spirit will be felt by all. Pray that many will say yes to forgiveness and new life through Christ and declare their faith at this concert. The free CDs have gospel songs by the Master Singers and a clear gospel message by Michael Gott which is translated into Ukrainian. Pray that it will be listened to with families and friends many times. Thank God for the three Baptist churches of Chernivtsi that are supporting this concert and doing the follow-up fellowships. Pray for interpreter Valera Tseona. This is his home city, and he is speaking to many people who know him and need Christ. Pray that the mission team will have complete rest at the hotel in Chernivtsi. April 21 Saturday Khmelnitskyi Fourth Ministry Day Breakfast and devotional at the hotel. After lunch departure for a 3 hour and 40 minute transfer to Khmelnitskyi, population 262,000. Concert five. Khmelnitskyi is also a regional capital and is 94% ethnic Ukrainian. It has a large city center and one of the largest kiosk malls in the country. Pray that excitement will be felt throughout the city and for the supporting churches to be on fire with a desire to see people saved. (Read Acts 4:33.) Pray that as the team walks through the city center this afternoon, they will invite to the concert those with searching hearts. (Psalm 57:9) Pray that the choir and support staff will work together in perfect unity, always putting others first and always pointing toward Christ. Pray that the Spirit of Christ will bridge all cultural gaps and give the team one heart. 7:00 p.m. concert at Khemelnitskyi Philharmonic Palace 940 seats. Ask God to fill it with hopeless, searching people! Ask God to unify the prayer team as they pray together during this concert. Pray that God will begin a work in hearts of believers and unbelievers alike causing them to have a God-awareness and seek His forgiveness. Mission Ukraine 2018 Guide to Prayer (Page 5 of 9)

Ask God to do a deep work in hearts during follow-up fellowships in Khmelnitskyi. Pray for the team of pastors and people who will contact everyone who says yes to the message of Christ. Pray for the choir as they load onto the buses after this concert and drive halfway to Bila Tserkva to spend a short night before driving the rest of the way there on Sunday morning. April 22 Sunday Bila Tserkva Fifth Ministry Day Morning departure for the 4 hour trip to Bila Tserkva, population 208,000 Concert six. Bila Tserkva means white church and is named for the white Orthodox church that stands in the center of the city. It is the second largest city in Kiev Region and is famous for its churches and park. Pray for the drivers and mission team as they travel 4 hours this morning from Vinnitsa to Bila Tserkva. Pray that God will give the entire team supernatural strength of spirit, body, and voice. Pray that those who respond this evening will be radically saved and that the gift CD with Christian songs and a sermon will be listened to hundreds of times. Pray that many family members and friends will hear the sermon on the CD and will be converted to Christ. (Acts 5:42 claim it for all!) 6:00 p.m. concert at Bila Tserkva Concert Hall Rosava 1,100 seats. Pray that as the gospel is presented, a holy hush will fall over attenders. Ask God that the impact will be area wide. (Read Acts 4:31.) Pray that the late dinner time at the Baptist church will be a time of rejoicing for the church and the entire team. There is no hotel in Bila Tserkva large enough to house the team. The team will travel two hours after dinner to Cherkassy so that the team can wake up in the city where they will have a concert tomorrow. Pray for the drivers and team as they travel 2 nights in a row this time due to inadequate hotels in Bila Tserkva. Mission Ukraine 2018 Guide to Prayer (Page 6 of 9)

April 23 Monday Cherkassy Sixth Ministry Day Breakfast, devotional and free afternoon in Cherkassy, population 287,000. Concert seven. Cherkassy is a regional capital on the banks of the Dnieper River in central Ukraine, known for its importance in trade. Pray that during this day with 5 hours of rest time God will heal tired bodies and voices before this evening s concert. Thank God for the past 5 days of evangelism in western Ukraine. Ask our faithful God to lead those who said yes to Christ to a church and Bible study where they can grow. Thank God for the mission staff member or musician who gave you this prayer guide. Ask God to continually give them great joy as they lift up Christ. Continue to pray that the team will be perfectly united in heart and purpose. 7:00 p.m. concert at Cherkassy Philharmonic Hall 800 seats. Pray for the celebration dinner time and rest tonight in Cherkassy and a good night of rest in the hotel in Cherkassy. April 24 Tuesday Kropyvnytskyi Seventh Ministry Day Breakfast, devotional and short walking tour before traveling 3 hours to Kropyvnytskyi, population 230,000. Pray for the 3 hour transfer from Cherkassy to Kropyvnytskyi where the team will move into a hotel and have lunch. Ask God again that the witness of the team will be effective in bringing the bus drivers to Christ. 7:00 p.m. concert at Kropyvnytskyi Palace of Culture 920 seats. Pray for the amazing power of God to be evident from the moment the people enter this city s largest hall. (Claim this verse Acts 5:14.) Pray that young people at the concert will listen with full attention. Ask God to keep children quiet. Ask God to pour out His Spirit on the choir and evangelist as they present Christ. Praise God for His power to save and change lives. Pray that as the team buses back to the hotel, they will be joyfully grateful to God for all He has done. Mission Ukraine 2018 Guide to Prayer (Page 7 of 9)

April 25 Wednesday Kiev Travel Day After breakfast and devotional the team will travel 5 hours to Ukraine s capital Kiev, population 2.8 million. Pray that today each team member will reflect Christ to the hotel staff as we move into our hotel where we will spend the final 2 nights. Pray again for the bus drivers. They have driven 1,000 miles in 10 days and have by now seen the ministry and heart of the group. Ask God to bring them to an understanding that they must turn to Christ for salvation. Pray that the group can introduce them to Ukrainian believers who will disciple them. Pray that even on this travel day the team will be determined to finish well all that God has charted for them to do in Ukraine.
