Num 13:1 The LORD spoke to Moses, saying, Num 13:2 "Send men to spy out the land of Canaan, which I am giving to the people of Israel. From each tribe of their fathers you shall send a man, every one a chief among them." Num 13:3 So Moses sent them from the wilderness of Paran, according to the command of the LORD, all of them men who were heads of the people of Israel. Num 13:4 And these were their names: From the tribe of Reuben, Shammua the son of Zaccur; Num 13:5 from the tribe of Simeon, Shaphat the son of Hori; Num 13:6 from the tribe of Judah, Caleb the son of Jephunneh; Num 13:7 from the tribe of Issachar, Igal the son of Joseph; Num 13:8 from the tribe of Ephraim, Hoshea the son of Nun;

Deu 1:22 And ye came near to me all of you, and said, We will send men before us, who shall examine the land for us, and bring us word again of the way by which we must go up, and of the cities to which we shall come. Deu 1:23 And the matter was good in mine eyes; and I took twelve men of you, one man for a tribe.

Num 13:17 Moses sent them to spy out the land of Canaan and said to them, "Go up into the Negeb and go up into the hill country, Num 13:18 and see what the land is, and whether the people who dwell in it are strong or weak, whether they are few or many, Num 13:19 and whether the land that they dwell in is good or bad, and whether the cities that they dwell in are camps or strongholds, Num 13:20 and whether the land is rich or poor, and whether there are trees in it or not. Be of good courage and bring some of the fruit of the land." Now the time was the season of the first ripe grapes.

Num 13:23 And they came to the Valley of Eshcol and cut down from there a branch with a single cluster of grapes, and they carried it on a pole between two of them; they also brought some pomegranates and figs. Num 13:24 That place was called the Valley of Eshcol, because of the cluster that the people of Israel cut down from there.

Num 13:25 At the end of forty days they returned from spying out the land. Num 13:26 And they came to Moses and Aaron and to all the congregation of the people of Israel in the wilderness of Paran, at Kadesh. They brought back word to them and to all the congregation, and showed them the fruit of the land. Num 13:27 And they told him, "We came to the land to which you sent us. It flows with milk and honey, and this is its fruit.

Num 13:28 However, the people who dwell in the land are strong, and the cities are fortified and very large. And besides, we saw the descendants of Anak there. Num 13:29 The Amalekites dwell in the land of the Negeb. The Hittites, the Jebusites, and the Amorites dwell in the hill country. And the Canaanites dwell by the sea, and along the Jordan."

Num 13:30 But Caleb quieted the people before Moses and said, "Let us go up at once and occupy it, for we are well able to overcome it."

Caleb = Forceful Mat 11:12 And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of Heaven is taken by violence, and the violent (energetic) take it by force (seize it).

Num 13:31 But the men that went up with him said, We are not able to go up against the people, for they are stronger than we. Num 13:32 And they brought up an evil report of the land which they had searched to the sons of Israel, saying, The land through which we have gone to search it, is a land that eats up those who live in it. And all the people whom we saw in it were men of stature. Num 13:33 And there we saw the giants, the sons of Anak, of the giants. And we were in our own sight like grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight.

Num 14:1 And all the congregation lifted up their voice, and cried; and the people wept that night. Num 14:2 And all the children of Israel murmured against Moses and against Aaron: and the whole congregation said unto them, Would God that we had died in the land of Egypt! or would God we had died in this wilderness! Num 14:3 And wherefore doth the LORD bring us unto this land, to fall by the sword? Our wives and our little ones shall be a prey: were it not better for us to return into Egypt? Num 14:4 And they said one to another, Let us make a captain, and let us return into Egypt.

Num 14:6 And Joshua the son of Nun and Caleb the son of Jephunneh, which were of them that spied out the land, rent their clothes: Num 14:7 and they spake unto all the congregation of the children of Israel, saying, The land, which we passed through to spy it out, is an exceeding good land. Num 14:8 If the LORD delight in us, then he will bring us into this land, and give it unto us; a land which floweth with milk and honey. Num 14:9 Only rebel not against the LORD, neither fear ye the people of the land; for they are bread for us: their defence is removed from over them, and the LORD is with us: fear them not.

Num 14:10 But all the congregation bade stone them with stones. And the glory of the LORD appeared in the tent of meeting unto all the children of Israel. Num 14:11 And the LORD said unto Moses, How long will this people despise me? and how long will they not believe in me, for all the signs which I have wrought among them? Num 14:12 I will smite them with the pestilence, and disinherit them, and will make of thee a nation greater and mightier than they.

Num 14:20 And the LORD said, I have pardoned according to thy word: Num 14:21 but in very deed, as I live, and as all the earth shall be filled with the glory of the LORD; Num 14:22 because all those men which have seen my glory, and my signs, which I wrought in Egypt and in the wilderness, yet have tempted me these ten times, and have not hearkened to my voice; Num 14:23 surely they shall not see the land which I sware unto their fathers, neither shall any of them that despised me see it:

Num 14:24 but my servant Caleb, because he had another spirit with him, and hath followed me fully, him will I bring into the land whereinto he went; and his seed shall possess it.

Only two spirits: 1) Holy Spirit of God 2) Carnal spirit of Man

Num 14:30 surely ye shall not come into the land, concerning which I lifted up my hand that I would make you dwell therein, save Caleb the son of Jephunneh, and Joshua the son of Nun.

Num 14:33 And your children shall be wanderers in the wilderness forty years, and shall bear your whoredoms, until your carcases be consumed in the wilderness. Num 14:34 After the number of the days in which ye spied out the land, even forty days, for every day a year, shall ye bear your iniquities, even forty years, and ye shall know my alienation.

Day for a year examples: Eze 4:4 Also lie on your left side, and lay the iniquity of the house of Israel on it; according to the number of days that you shall lie on it, you shall bear their iniquity. Eze 4:5 For I have laid on you the years of their iniquity, according to the number of the days, three hundred and ninety days. So you shall bear the iniquity of the house of Israel. Eze 4:6 And when you have fulfilled them, lie again on your right side, and you shall bear the iniquity of the house of Judah forty days; a day for a year; a day for a year, I have set for you.

Num 14:36 And the men, which Moses sent to spy out the land, who returned, and made all the congregation to murmur against him, by bringing up an evil report against the land, Num 14:37 even those men that did bring up an evil report of the land, died by the plague before the LORD.

Jos 14:6 Then the children of Judah drew nigh unto Joshua in Gilgal: and Caleb the son of Jephunneh the Kenizzite said unto him, Thou knowest the thing that the LORD spake unto Moses the man of God concerning me and concerning thee in Kadesh barnea. Jos 14:7 Forty years old was I when Moses the servant of the LORD sent me from Kadesh barnea to spy out the land; and I brought him word again as it was in mine heart. Jos 14:8 Nevertheless my brethren that went up with me made the heart of the people melt: but I wholly followed the LORD my God. Jos 14:9 And Moses sware on that day, saying, Surely the land whereon thy foot hath trodden shall be an inheritance to thee and to thy children for ever, because thou hast wholly followed the LORD my God.

Jos 14:10 And now, behold, the LORD hath kept me alive, as he spake, these forty and five years, from the time that the LORD spake this word unto Moses, while Israel walked in the wilderness: and now, lo, I am this day fourscore and five years old. Jos 14:11 As yet I am as strong this day as I was in the day that Moses sent me: as my strength was then, even so is my strength now, for war and to go out and to come in. Jos 14:12 Now therefore give me this mountain, whereof the LORD spake in that day; for thou heardest in that day how the Anakim were there, and cities great and fenced: it may be that the LORD will be with me, and I shall drive them out, as the LORD spake. Jos 14:13 And Joshua blessed him; and he gave Hebron unto Caleb the son of Jephunneh for an inheritance.

Deu 2:14 And the days in which we came from Kadesh barnea, until we were come over the brook Zered, were thirty and eight years; until all the generation of the men of war were consumed from the midst of the camp, as the LORD sware unto them.

Num 26:65 For the LORD had said of them, They shall surely die in the wilderness. And there was not left a man of them, save Caleb the son of Jephunneh, and Joshua the son of Nun.

Num 32:12 save Caleb the son of Jephunneh the Kenizzite, and Joshua the son of Nun: because they have wholly followed the LORD.

Gen 15:18 In that day the LORD made a covenant with Abram, saying, Unto thy seed have I given this land, from the river of Egypt unto the great river, the river Euphrates: Gen 15:19 the Kenite, and the Kenizzite, and the Kadmonite,

This provision, for a Gentile to be included in Israel was clearly spelt out in the regulations for Passover (Exodus 12: 48,49). In this Exodus passage it is written: "If an alien who resides with you wants to observe the Passover to the lord, every male in his household must be circumcised, and then he may come near to observe it. He is to be like a native of the land, but no uncircumcised person is to eat it. A single law exists for the native and the alien who resides among you." (Exodus 12:48,49 ISV)

Joh 10:14 I am the good shepherd; and I know those that are mine, and am known of those that are mine, Joh 10:15 as the Father knows me and I know the Father; and I lay down my life for the sheep. Joh 10:16 And I have other sheep which are not of this fold: those also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one flock, one shepherd. Joh 10:17 On this account the Father loves me, because I lay down my life that I may take it again.

Gal 3:28 So there is no difference between Jews and Gentiles, between slaves and free people, between men and women; you are all one in union with Christ Jesus. Gal 3:29 If you belong to Christ, then you are the descendants of Abraham and will receive what God has promised.

1Ti 6:12 Fight the good fight of faith. Lay hold ( Greek = sieze) on eternal life, to which you are also called and have professed a good profession before many witnesses.

Caleb and Joshua had to wander in the wilderness for 40 years as a result of the unfaithful.

Exo 16:35 And the sons of Israel ate manna forty years, until they came to a land in which people lived. They ate manna until they came into the borders of the land of Canaan. Deu 29:5 And I have led you forty years in the wilderness. Your clothes have not become old on you, and your shoe has not become old on your foot.

Joh_6:58 This is the Bread which came down from Heaven, not as your fathers ate the manna, and died; he who partakes of this Bread shall live forever. Eph 6:14 Stand therefore, having girded your loins with truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, Eph 6:15 and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace;

Num 1:46 all they that were numbered were six hundred and three thousand five hundred and fifty. Males over the age of 20 years.

Jos 2:1 And Joshua the son of Nun sent out of Shittim two men to spy secretly, saying, Go look over the land, even Jericho. And they went and came to the house of a harlot named Rahab. And they stayed there. Jos 2:24 And they said to Joshua, Truly Yahweh has delivered all the land into our hands, for even all those who live in the country faint because of us.

2 by 2 is a good model Disciples - Mar 6:7 And He called the Twelve near and began to send them out two by two. And He gave them authority over the unclean spirits, Paul / Silas - Act 15:40 But having chosen Silas, Paul went out, being commended to the grace of God by the brothers.

Act 15:22 Then it seemed good to the apostles and the elders, with all the assembly, to send chosen men from them to Antioch with Paul and Barnabas, Judas having been surnamed Barsabas, and Silas, leading men among the brothers, Act 15:39 Then there was sharp feeling, so as to separate them from each other. And taking Mark, Barnabas sailed away to Cyprus.

Act 17:14 And immediately, then, the brothers sent away Paul, to go as toward the sea. But both Silas and Timothy remained there. Act 15:32 And Judas and Silas, themselves also being prophets, exhorted the brothers through much speech, and confirmed them.

Rev 11:3 And I will give to My two witnesses, and they will prophesy a thousand, two hundred and sixty days, dressed in sackcloth. Act 1:10 And as they were intently looking into the heaven, He having gone, even behold, two men in white clothing stood by them,

Ecc 4:9 12 Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labor. For if they fall, this one will lift up his fellow. But woe to him, the one that falls, and there is not another to lift him up. Also if two lie together, then they have warmth; but for one, how is he warm? And if one overthrows him, two shall withstand him; and a threefold cord is not quickly torn apart.
