Prayer of the Day Leader: Loving God, by tender words and covenant promise you have joined us to yourself forever, and you invite us to respond to your love with faithfulness. By your Spirit may we live with you and with one another in justice, mercy, and joy, through Jesus Christ our Savor and Lord. Amen Anthem 9:00 African Psalm Patrick M. Liebergen High School Choir 10:30 Amen! So Be It Natalie Sleeth Choristers Lesson Exodus 34:29-35 Moses came down from Mount Sinai. As he came down from the mountain with the two tablets of the covenant in his hand, Moses did not know that the skin of his face shone because he had been talking with God. When Aaron and all the Israelites saw Moses, the skin of his face was shining, and they were afraid to come near him. But Moses called to them; and Aaron and all the leaders of the congregation returned to him, and Moses spoke with them. Afterward all the Israelites came near, and he gave them in commandment all that the Lord had spoken with him on Mount Sinai. When Moses had finished speaking with them, he put a veil on his face; but whenever Moses went in before the Lord to speak with him, he would take the veil off, until he came out; and when he came out, and told the Israelites what he had been commanded, the Israelites would see the face of Moses, that the skin of his face was shining; and Moses would put the veil on his face again, until he went in to speak with him. WE INVITE CHILDREN TO DOCK AT THIS TIME Please make sure your child is wearing a nametag with name and grade level. ************* See FRONT OF INSERT for Pickup Locations ************** 5
Anthem How Firm a Foundation How firm a foundation, ye saints of the Lord, Is laid for your faith in His excellent word! What more can He say than to you He hath said To you who for refuge to Jesus have fled? In every condition, in sickness, in health, In poverty s vale or abounding in wealth, At home or abroad, on the land or the sea As thy days may demand, so thy succor shall be. arr. Mack Wilberg St. Andrew s Choir Fear not, I am with thee, oh, be not dismayed, For I am thy God, and will still give thee aid; I ll strengthen thee, help thee, and cause thee to stand, Upheld by my gracious, omnipotent hand. The soul that on Jesus doth lean for repose, I will not, I will not, desert to his foes; That soul, though all hell should endeavor to shake, I ll never, no never, no never forsake. Psalm 104:27-30 Leader: These all look to you to give them their food in due season; when you give to them, they gather it up; Leader: when you open your hand, they are filled with good things. When you hide your face, they are dismayed; Leader: when you take away their breath, they die and return to their dust. Leader: When you send forth your spirit, they are created; and you renew the face of the ground. Hymn Jesus Shall Reign duke street 6
Sacrament of Holy Baptism 10:30 Jack Thomas Schober Son of Kathryn and Thomas Schober Liam Harrison Carr Son of Brittany and Michael Carr Apostles Creed I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth. I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord. He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended into hell. On the third day he rose again. He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen Holy Gospel Mark 2:18-22 Glory to you, O Lord. Now John s disciples and the Pharisees were fasting; and people came and said to him, Why do John s disciples and the disciples of the Pharisees fast, but your disciples do not fast? Jesus said to them, The wedding guests cannot fast while the bridegroom is with them, can they? As long as they have the bridegroom with them, they cannot fast. The days will come when the bridegroom is taken away from them, and then they will fast on that day. No one sews a piece of unshrunk cloth on an old cloak; otherwise, the patch pulls away from it, the new from the old, and a worse tear is made. And no one puts new wine into old wineskins; otherwise, the wine will burst the skins, and the wine is lost, and so are the skins; but one puts new wine into fresh wineskins. Praise to you, O Christ. 7

For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever and ever.
