The Next Stated Meeting for Sandston Masonic Lodge is: Thursday, December 14, 2017 Officer dress: coat & tie Stated Communication Suggested member/guest attire: coat & tie "Freemasonry, A Tower of Strength" Notes from the East Greetings Brethren and I hope this finds you well! This is my final message from the East during my tenure as Worshipful Master and as such, I want to thank each and every one of you for your support during the past year. I believe we have accomplished many good things but as we know, it doesn't happen without the hard work and support of the Brethren who so willingly step up and take on responsibilities to benefit us all. For this service to our fraternity and our community, please accept my heartfelt thanks and appreciation. Bro. Mike Page is prepared to assume the responsibilities of the WM for the upcoming year and I sincerely hope you will be able to attend our December stated to support him in the election and his slate of officers for the 2018 year. I encourage each of you, whether asked or not, to reach out to "soon to be" Wor. Mike to offer your assistance in whatever capacity for the good of us all. OUR lodge is in need of Brothers to assist in taking our lodge forward. As with most groups, there are a very few who labor for the entire organization. I humbly ask that each of you give careful consideration to doing what you can to keep Sandston Lodge active and visible in our community. If we are not successful in carrying this torch forward then we are in jeopardy of letting the flame go out... and what a shame that would be!!! I look forward to our stated and hope to see many of you in lodge so I may personally thank you for your efforts during the past year. Thank you to those who have agreed to help lead us into another great year and I am very excited about the potential that lies ahead. Merry Christmas! Happy New Year! Safe travels and... see you in lodge!!!! Wor. Bobby

Prayer & Praise Report From the South Brian Nash - Junior Warden Remember Brethren, we need a sausage drive volunteer to take over all of the manual work of the drives. I will still control the paperwork and computer side so please offer your services. This is the only money earner we have to supply sufficient funds for our charitable needs at Christmas and for our Scholarships. Step up and offer your services to your Lodge. Prayers and Praises There are no new prayers except for the Martin family over the passing of Wor. Bro Martin wife and the family of Bro. Hubbard. As I said at our stated while being in the East, it s time to remove all the old prayer list and start anew with the help of the brethren in supplying information to the JW in advance of the next stated communication. No news is good news unless there is unreported bad news which is bad news. Brother Brian, JW In Memoriam Henry Tate Hubbard BORN June 19, 1924 INITIATED July 7, 1955 PASSED Aug. 18, 1955 RAISED Sept. 29, 1955 DEPARTED THIS LIFE Nov. 17, 2017 Rest in Peace ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Celebrating Masonic Birthdays Wor. Brethren, 2018 dues cards have arrived. Grand Lodge dues are $45.00 and Sandston dues are $92.00 for a total due of $137.00. Prompt payment of your dues is part of your Masonic obligation. There are eight Brothers who have yet to pay for 2017. That is over $1,000 in lodge funds that are critical to the operation of our lodge. Charity being one of the tenets of Masonry, if you are one of those eight, or find yourself in need of relief, please contact myself, the Worshipful Master or any lodge brother so we can help. If you would like to never worry about paying your lodge dues ever again, I can make that happen for you in the form of an LMIP. Contact me if you are interested and want to hear more about it. Sincerely and Fraternally, Doug Guthrie, PM, Secretary Sandston # 216 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "Neighbor Helping Neighbor" FISH is a local charitable organization that provides food, clothing and money for those in need in our community. By supporting this charity, we give back to the Sandston Community. Any non-perishable food or clothing donations are greatly appreciated! Just bring it with you to stated or called meetings or class. Thank you for helping your community! There is always a need for linens, washcloths, towels, and children's clothes, especially for boys which are clean and in good repair. You may send monetary donations to the FISH Organization at: P.O. Box 38212, Richmond, VA 23231
