Diocesan Youth Day 2018 Diocese of New York and New Jersey For All Diocesan Youth and Friends from elementary to middle school, high school, and college! WHEN: Wednesday, August 22 nd, 10:30 AM 7 PM WHERE: New Amsterdam Theatre, 214 W. 42 nd St., New York, NY COST: $50 for Youth and $75 for Adults TRANSPORT: Christ the Saviour Church (365 Paramus Rd., Paramus, NJ). Bus will pick up at the church at 11 AM and drop off at 7 PM. DEADLINE: Tickets will be sold on a first come, first served basis

INSTRUCTIONS On Wednesday, August 22 nd at the New Amsterdam Theatre, the youth will see a 1:00 PM showing of Aladdin, complete with a meet and greet with the cast. A meal will be provided in the city following the show, and transportation will be available in and out of the city. At 10:30 AM the day will begin with Morning Prayers with Archbishop Michael. At 11 AM a bus will pick up youth and their chaperones at Christ the Saviour Church (365 Paramus Road, Paramus, NJ), take them to and from the theatre and meal, and drop them off at the same location at approximately 7 PM. We suggest those who live in New York City take public transit. At this time, only 50 tickets are available for this event and will be sold on a first come, first served basis. Tickets will only be reserved when payment is received. Tickets are $50 for youth and $75 for adults. Ticket price covers admission to the play, bus transportation from NJ, and the meal following the play. Every youth under 18 years old needs a designated chaperone. An adult may chaperone more than one child. Only 15 tickets are available for adult chaperones. Once tickets are sold out a waiting list will be made. To participate, you must fill out the registration forms (pages 4-6) and send them with your payment to Father Matthew Brown, Attention: Diocesan Youth Day, 16 Bergen Street, Glen Rock, NJ 07452. Payments may be made by check only, payable to the Diocese of NY & NJ. DIRECTIONS TO Christ the Saviour 365 Paramus Rd., Paramus, NJ From Northern New Jersey / New York Take Rt 17 south to Paramus Rd exit, proceed about 3 miles south (pass 5 traffic lights). The Church is on the right just past the Bergen Community College campus. From Northern New Jersey / New York (via Garden State Parkway) Take Garden State Parkway south to Ridgewood Ave exit 163. Make right turn onto Ridgewood Ave (toward Ridgewood). Proceed west on Ridgewood Ave to Paramus Rd intersection. Turn left onto Paramus Rd (south). Go about 1 mile (pass 2 traffic lights). The Church is on the right just past Bergen Community College. From Southern New Jersey (via the Garden State Parkway) Take the Garden State Parkway north to exit 160. Turn left on to Paramus Rd. The Church will be 2 miles north on the left. From Southern New Jersey / New York (via New Jersey Turnpike) Take the New Jersey Turnpike north to Interstate 80 west. Proceed to Rt 17 north exit. Continue north on Rt 17 to Century Rd exit (follow U-turn/Motor Vehicle Inspection Station signs). Go west on Century Rd over Rt 17 and proceed to Paramus Rd. Turn right onto Paramus Rd and continue north for 1/2 mile. The Church is on the right just before the Bergen Community College. Participant Behavior Contract As an applicant to this Diocesan Youth Day Event, I, agree to the following concerning participation at the retreat or at any other location visited as part of the Youth Day Event. Participant s Agreement I agree to refrain from smoking, drinking alcohol, taking drugs other than those approved or specified by the Event director, or partaking of any other prohibited substance. I agree to respect the needs and feelings of others, to show kindness to all that I encounter, and to help out whenever I can. I agree to refrain from any and all unchaste language, gesturing, and behaviors. This includes using profanity, engaging in or seeking to engage in sexual behavior, dressing or behaving immodestly, or in general, willfully giving into or leading others into temptation. I agree to refrain from any and all violence, including physically or verbally abusing my fellow participants, bullying, fighting, yelling, and in general losing my temper. I also agree to leave at home any items which are weapons or weapon-like. I agree to respond to all harsh words, threats, taunts, insults, and attacks without returning like for like, eye for an eye, but to seek a peaceful resolution to the problem, including but not limited to seeking the help of retreat staff or simply walking away from the situation.
