Hayes 2 God is Seen... arr. Alice Parker Through all the world below God is seen all around, Search hills and valleys through, There He s found. The growing of the corn, The lily and the thorn, The pleasant and forlorn, All declare, God is there, In meadows drest in green, God is seen. See springing waters rise, Fountains flow, rivers run, The mist that veils the sky Hides the sun. Then down the rain doth pour, The ocean, it doth roar And beat upon the shore, And all praise, in their ways, The God who ne er declines His designs. The sun with all his rays Speaks of God as he flies The comet in her blaze God, she cries; The shining of the stars, The moon, when she appears, His awful name declares; See them fly through the sky, And join the solemn sound All around! If I Got My Ticket, Can I Ride?... arr. Shaw Lord, if I got my ticket, can I ride away to the heaven that morning! Here a big talk of the judgment day, You got no time to projick away! Away by and by without a doubt Jehovah will order his train about! Cleanout the world and leave no sin tell me, please, where have you been! Hear a big talk of the Gospel train you wanna get on it? Yeah, that s my aim! Stand at the station and patiently wait; the train is a comin, and it s never late. So long comin that it worried my mind I thought it was late but it was just on time! TEXTS: Wade In the Water... arr. Hayes Wade in the water, wade in the water, children, God s gonna trouble the water. Down in the valley, down on my knees, askin my Lord to save me please. Up on the mountain, Jehovah He spoke; out of His mouth came fire and smoke. I heard a rumblin up in the sky; must have been Jesus passin by! Wondrous Love... arr. Alice Parker/Robert Shaw What wondrous love is this, O my soul, O my soul; That caused the Lord of bliss To bear the dreadful curse for my soul, for my soul. When I was sinking down, sinking down, Beneath God s righteous frown, Christ laid aside His crown for my soul for my soul, To God and to the Lamb Who is the great I AM While millions join the theme, I will sing. And when from death I m free I ll sing and joyful be, And through eternity I ll sing on. Witness... arr. Halloran Who ll be a witness for my Lord? Oh I ll be a witness for my Lord. There was a man of the Pharisees, his name was Nicodemus and he didn t believe. The same came to Christ by night, wanted to be taught out of human sight. Nicodemus was a man who desired to know how a man can be born when he is old. Christ told Nicodemus as a friend, Man, you must be born again. He said: Marvel not, man, if you want to be wise: repent, believe and be baptized. Then you ll be a witness for my Lord, soul is a witness for my Lord. You read about Samson, from his birth he was the strongest man that ever lived on earth. Way back yonder in ancient times he killed ten thousand of the Phillistines. Then old Samson went a wand rin about. Samson s strength was never found out. Till his wife sat upon his knee, she said: Tell me where your strength lies, if you please! Samson s wife, she talk so fair Samson said : Cut off my hair! Shave my head just as clean as your hand, and my strength will come like a natural man. Samson was a witness for my Lord, soul is a witness for my Lord. There s another witness for my Lord! My soul is a witness for my Lord.. 6 THE CHILDREN S SERMON (Children's Church will not meet today.) THE NEW TESTAMENT LESSON... Colossians 3:-7 Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. 6 Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts. 7 And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him. THE MORNING PRAYER THE PSALM... Psalm 22:- My God, my God, why have you forsaken me? Why are you so far from saving me, so far from my cries of anguish? 2 My God, I cry out by day, but you do not answer, by night, but I find no rest. 3 Yet you are enthroned as the Holy One; you are the one Israel praises. In you our ancestors put their trust; they trusted and you delivered them. To you they cried out and were saved; in you they trusted and were not put to shame. THE HYMN Wondrous Love... arr. Alice Parker/Robert Shaw ** THE SPIRITUAL SONG 6 Were You There? (Stanzas, 2, 3)... WERE YOU THERE THE PSALM... Psalm 22:22-23 22 I will declare your name to my people; in the assembly I will praise you. 23 You who fear the Lord, praise him! All you descendants of Jacob, honor him! Revere him, all you descendants of Israel! 3

THE SPIRITUAL SONG Witness... arr. Halloran THE PSALM... Psalm 8:-6 Praise the Lord! Praise the Lord from the heavens; praise him in the heights above. 2 Praise him, all his angels; praise him, all his heavenly hosts. 3 Praise him, sun and moon; praise him, all you shining stars. Praise him, you highest heavens and you waters above the skies. Let them praise the name of the Lord, for at his command they were created, 6 and he established them for ever and ever he issued a decree that will never pass away. THE HYMN God is Seen... arr. Alice Parker THE PSALM... Psalm 86:-3 Teach me your way, LORD, that I may rely on your faithfulness; give me an undivided heart, that I may fear your name. 2 I will praise you, Lord my God, with all my heart; I will glorify your name forever. 3 For great is your love toward me; you have delivered me from the depths, from the realm of the dead. THE SPIRITUAL SONG If I Got My Ticket, Can I Ride?... arr. Shaw THE PSALM... Psalm 9:-3, 7-8 Blessed are those whose ways are blameless, who walk according to the law of the LORD. 2 Blessed are those who keep his statutes and seek him with all their heart 3 they do no wrong but follow his ways. 7 Be good to your servant while I live, that I may obey your word. 8 Open my eyes that I may see wonderful things in your law. THE SPIRITUAL SONG Lord, I Want to Be a Christian... arr. Hogan THE INVTATION ** THE SPIRITUAL SONG 7 We Are Climbing Jacob s Ladder... Our next class will meet in the Fellowship Hall following worship on Sunday, July, and it will be... A time to learn about this church what we believe & what we do (and even take a building tour) A forum where you can ask questions An opportunity to learn about church membership A place to enjoy a light lunch and to connect with others! It is our desire that each of you find our church to be a place to worship, to grow in your faith and to serve the Lord. Please register for this class by contacting the church office, 293-06 or <office@universitybaptist.org>. Connecting We all have a background... a story to tell... points of connection with our fellow man. Let s share some of our story. Let s get to know each other a little better. In an attempt to help UBC members better connect with each other, the church staff is planning to start posting brief biographical sketches of members along with their picture. We will put them up on a bulletin board in the church for about four weeks and then trade them out with new biographies. This will give members a chance to connect names with faces and backgrounds. "Connecting" is important to the life and growth of churches and we are hopeful that many will participate. The biography would be no longer than a page long and would answer the who, what, when and where questions of your background. Possible areas to touch on would be: Where were you born/raised; schooling; family; military; jobs/positions; when/where baptized; hobbies; or other significant events in your life. If you have questions, contact Bob Badgett. WMU School Supplies Project The WMU is collecting money to purchase school supplies for the low-income children at Woodbrook Elementary School. More than 0% of the children are in the free or reducedprice lunch program. This project is coordinated by Love INC in cooperation with city and county schools Family Support Workers. Make checks payable to UBC and earmark School Supplies.
