Core Values Christ Centered: Youth leaders will be able to provide the youth and young adults with opportunities to discover Jesus through meaningful relationships. (John 12:32) Unity: Youth leaders will provide support and resources across ministries to ensure success. Youth leaders will also strive to create a cohesive environment that promotes growth and fellowship. (John15: 1-17) Leadership: Youth leaders will establish clear roles and responsibilities that will develop mentor/coaches to those being ministered to. (Romans 12:1-2) Training: Youth leaders will promote training opportunities provided by the AYM department of SNEC. (1Timothy 4:7,8) Growth & Empowerment: Youth leaders will provide youth and young adults with opportunities to lead out in planning and the execution of their programs so that they are closer in their relationship with God through ministry. (1 Timothy 5:1) Relationships & Community: The AYM department will be a growing community that will nourish trust, relationships, and belonging; fostering acceptance to new ideas and methods, and creating a family among youth and youth workers. Club Ministries ADVENTURERS CLUB Adventurers is a church based ministry that focuses on families by involving and supporting parents (care-givers) in the physical, social, spiritual, and mental development (Luke 2:52) of children pre-k through grade 4. PATHFINDERS CLUB Pathfinders is a church based ministry that focuses on developing the spiritual, mental, and physical capacities of children and adolescents from grades 5 to 10 through activities meeting their needs and interests. 2018 Upcoming Events: Adventurer Spring Escape -June 1-3*** Family Fun Day - August 5 *** Club Registration Opens- July 13 ***These events are for families to enjoy together and are held at the SNEC Camp Grounds. Smart Goals 1. Have 80% of clubs registered within the first 90 days of club year: a. Visit clubs on their 1st meeting. b. Attend local club s parent meeting. c. Continued follow-up with club director to ensure regular meetings occurs. 2. Uniform compliance: a. Club uniform guide inspection by January 31st. b. How to Start an Adventurer and Pathfinder Club 1. Contact and set up an appointment with your Area Coordinator. 2. Share the benefits, requirement/support from each support staff. 3. Announce to your local congregation the plans and benefits of starting a club. Ask for prayer. 4. Schedule a meeting with the team you have recruited for your club ministry. 5. **Have your Area Coordinator come by to share what the basics are to running a club. 6. Structure how meetings will go and make a calendar for the year. 7. Promote your club within your neighborhood and church community. 8. Hold an open house for the community to come and hear a presentation and Q&A. 9. Visit registered club members to review expectations. 10. Schedule with your Area Coordinator to help with the Induction Service. Club Registration 1. Registration opens on July 13th. 2. Registration is a 2 step process: a. Family Ministries Family Ministries exists to provide resources and events that support local church family ministry leaders and the families of our conference. Smart Goals 1. Impact Projects Impact Projects is the partnering of all youth department ministries and community organizations for a one-day community service event. This opportunity helps youth and young adults mingle with the community, show compassion, minister to their needs, and win their confidence. Smart Goals 1. To host the next Impact event in Conneticut in 2018 2. Medical Cadet Corps The Medical Cadet Corps is a ministry for youth and young adults from ages 16 and over. They are trained to serve God, their neighbors, and the community, especially in emergency, rescue, and disaster response. Smart Goals 1. Increase from 2 to 6 strong MCC s groups by the end of the year. The clubs being strengthened are Waterbury, Lawrence, Boston, and Marlboro. 2. Having all the cadets certified in at least CPR. 3. Have the first MCC s Camporee. 4. All the cadets will be trained in Damage Assessment and Disaster. 5. At the end of the year, have 10 new cadets baptized. 6. Missionary Impossible Missionary Impossible is the yearly mission trip for the Southern New England Conference, organized by the Youth Department. This trip invite people to experience Jesus through service to the world. Missionary Impossible is intended for youth ages 14 years old and up, including adults. This experience is strategically placed during the public school srping break. National Service Organization The National Service Organization aids Adventist young adults in successfully understanding and dealing with issues related to the military. NSO also provides spiritual support and information for anyone who is anticipating or actively serving in the military. 2018 Upcoming events: NSO Sabbath-November 10 Smart Goals 1. Public Campus Ministries Public Campus Ministry is geared toward reaching both Adventist and non-adventist students at public college and universities, through training, service, worship, and fellowship. Summer Camp at Winnekeag Summer Camp offers youth and families an opportunity to get to know Jesus better, through a variety of fun and challenging activities. In the setting of nature the camper is offered moments to reconnect spiritually and recharge though relationships. Smart Goals 1. Continue to improve attendance through a continued discount program to Adventurer and Junior camps. 2. Improve camp staff spirituality through a spiritual mentorship program and measuring effectiveness through survey tools. 3. Training Ministries Training Ministry assists in the training, preparation, and continued education of leaders that serve youth ministries across the conference. Youth Federations Federations exist to offer tangible aid through training, mentoring, and serving as a source of support to Adventist Youth Society (AYS) groups. The AYS objective is to save from sin and guide into service. This is done through relevant youth worships, Compassion projects, and building community. 2018 Upcoming Events Youth Rally-March 31 AY Leaders Training Day-April 8 AY Leadership Training-October 21 Share Your Faith-July 28 Smart Goals 1. Federations will plan and execute Teen Prayer Conference, Youth Rally, Share Your Faith, and NSO Sabbath for each federation area. 2. Federations will mentor 10 new churches into starting any form of AY programs, as well as mentor youth leaders into position. 3. Federations will provide 2 major trainings a year towards AYL Certification 4. To partner with the Young Adult Council to host a town hall meeting during the week long camp meeting. 5.
