I love Him, I love Him. Talk About the Bible Story Page BTH 4 Open your Bible to Matthew 5 and tell the children that the story is about Jesus. Show the Bible story picture to the children. Ask the children to point to Jesus., thanking God that we can learn about Jesus at church. Bible Fun Activities Page BTH 4 Draw with crayons Supplies provided: Manila paper, jumbo size crayons, word Jesus die-cut, 1 s & 2 s -CD and Bible phrase. Turn on the CD for some background music. Give each child a sheet of manila paper. Encourage the children to draw with the jumbo crayons Help the children glue the die-cut onto their paper, reminding them the story is about Jesus. Find the Bible Place the Bible somewhere in the room. Encourage the children to find the Bible. After they find the Bible, tell them that the Bible tells us about God and Jesus. Turn to Mathew 14:14 and say the Bible phrase. Continue to hide the Bible, allowing each child to have a turn finding it. and craft. Encourage them to repeat the Bible phrase to you.

As you open the Bible, show the children the Jesus figure and tell them the story is about Jesus. Show the Bible story picture as you tell the story. As you pray, say thank you to God for Jesus. Bible Learning Activities Make a sticker collage Supplies provided: Green construction paper, various flower & nature stickers, crayons, and Bible phrase. Give each child a piece of green construction paper. Provide each table with an assortment of flower and nature stickers, as well as crayons. Allow them to color their paper and then decorate it with the stickers. Tell them that Jesus taught on a mountainside with green grass and flowers. Glue the Bible phrase onto the paper and have the children say it with you. Use a toy microphone Play Jesus Taught (track 2) on the CD as you sing along using the toy microphone. Pass the microphone to each child, and have them say the name Jesus. Say the Bible phrase into the microphone and allow each child a turn. As the children wait for their turn, allow them to look at the book Who Learned from Jesus? Clean Up Play Follow the Leader (track 17) as you guide the children to clean up the classroom. and craft. Encourage them to repeat the Bible phrase to you.

Bible Phrase: Jesus loved people and helped them. Matthew 14:14 Life Point: Jesus told people that God would care for them. Item 2: Bible Story Picture 1 s & 2 s -CD Sing Together To the tune Mary Had a Little Lamb, sing: Jesus helped the people know, people know, people know; Jesus helped the people know that God loved them. Talk About the Bible Story Page BTH 6 Open your Bible to Matthew 5 and 6 as you tell the story. Show the Bible story picture to the children and tell them that Jesus wanted people to know about God s care. Ask the children to point to Jesus and the people listening to him., thanking God for caring for our families and us. Bible Fun Activities Page BTH 6 Decorate a mirror Supplies provided: Construction paper, markers & crayons, various stickers, mirror paper (5x7) and Bible phrase. Give each child a sheet of construction paper to color on with markers and crayons. Show each child a piece of mirror paper and glue it onto their paper. Let the children decorate around the mirror with stickers. Comment that Jesus loved people and helped them. He said to not worry. Help them to glue on the Bible phrase, encouraging the children to repeat it several times. Catch Bubbles: Gather the children and encourage them to catch bubbles. As they are catching bubbles, tell them God wants them to be happy and have the things they need. Point to the Bible story picture and remind them that Jesus told the people to not worry. Send home the Kids Activity page along with their craft. Show the parents the One Conversation side of the Activity page and encourage them to use the activity with their family this week.

Bible Learning Activities Make Handprints Supplies provided: White construction paper, large stamp pad, crayons, baby wipes, and Bible phrase. Give each child a piece of construction paper to color. Using a large stamp pad, help the children stamp each hand onto their paper. Wipe the child s hands with a baby wipe, and/or help the child to wash hands with soap and water at the sink. Glue the Bible phrase onto the paper as you read it aloud, encouraging the children to say it with you. Toss Beanbags & Match Bible Words Supplies provided: Bean bags, dishpan/bowl and Items 16a & 16b. Have the children take turns tossing the bean bag into the dishpan. While waiting, help the children match shapes. Read the words on the shapes to help the child learn about Jesus. Clean Up Play Jesus Taught (track 2) as you guide the children to clean up the classroom. Send home the Kids Activity page along with their craft. Point out that today s story is about a woman Jesus saw at the well. Tell the Bible story., thanking God that we learn from the Bible that Jesus loved people and helped them. Bible Fun Activities Page BTH 8 Make a card Supplies provided: Preprinted card stock, dot markers, heart stickers, and crayons. Help the children fold the preprinted paper, creating a card. Let the children decorate their card with dot markers, heart stickers and crayons. As you read the Bible phrase to the children, tell them that giving someone a card shows our love. Stack blocks in a large square Supplies provided: Masking tape Using masking tape, create a large square box onto the floor for the children to stack blocks in. As the children play with the blocks, thank them for sharing with one another and showing love. Hide and Seek Game with the Bible Hide the Bible, allowing each child to have a turn finding it. Continue hiding the Bible as a fun activity as children finish with the other crafts. and craft. Remind them that Jesus loves everyone.

As you open the Bible, show the children the Bible story picture and point out the well. Tell the children that a well is where some people go to get water. The woman probably went to get water for her family. Using a small cup of water, allow each child to dip their finger into the water. Tell the Bible story in your own words. Say a prayer, thanking Jesus for loving us. Bible Learning Activities Paint With Water Colors Supplies provided: Woman at the well coloring sheet (printed on card stock), water colors, paint brushes and cups for water. Give each child a preprinted coloring sheet, pointing out Jesus. Let the children use water colors to paint their picture. Show them how to dip their paint brush into the water and then into the paint. Let the children do as much as they can on their own as possible. DO NOT paint for them. Hot Potato Supplies provided: Bean bag & CD, Items 15 & 20 Play Jesus is Special (track 1) on the CD as children pass the bean bag around the circle. Stop the CD, guiding the child holding the bean bag to say, Love others as I have loved you! As the children wait for their turn, allow them to look at the books Who Learned from Jesus? & What Did Jesus Do? Tell the children that Jesus loved others, including children. Lead the children in prayer, thanking God for a loving Jesus. Bible Fun Activities Page BTH 10 Make a mural Supplies provided: Contact paper (5x7 pieces-2), small heart die-cut, boy/girl die-cut, tissue paper squares, and Bible phrase. Give each child a piece of clear contact paper. Provide the children with various items (small die-cut heart, boy/girl die-cut, and tissue paper squares). Allow the children to stick the items anywhere on the contact paper. Help the children stick the Bible phrase onto their paper. Place another piece of contact paper on top to seal their art. Play a circle game Supplies provided: Masking tape Make a large tape circle on the floor. Step inside the circle and invite children to join you. Clap your hands and encourage the children to clap with you. Do other motions such as jump, touch toes, and smile. Say the Bible phrase and have the children repeat it in a whisper and then in a loud voice. and craft. Remind them that Jesus loved others, including children.

Bible Learning Activities Make a chalk picture Supplies provided: Various colored construction paper (1 per child), large light pink die-cut heart, colored chalk and Bible phrase. Let each child choose a color of construction paper for their craft. Help them glue their heart and Bible phrase onto their paper. Guide the children to color their heart using chalk. Instruct the children to point to the Bible phrase on their paper. Say the phrase with the children. March to music Supplies provided: Rhythm instruments Play music from the CD as you sing along and invite children to march in time to the music. Give children rhythm instruments to play as they hear the songs. Clean Up Play Jesus Taught (track 4) as you guide the children to clean up the classroom. and craft. Talk About The Bible Story Page BTH 12 Open your Bible to Luke 19 and tell the children that the story is about Jesus helping Zacchaeus do the right thing. Show the teaching picture to the children. Ask the children to point to Jesus and then to Zacchaeus., thanking God for Jesus. Thank you, God that Jesus cared about Zacchaeus and He cares about us too. Bible Fun Activities Page BTH 12 Tear Paper & Make A Collage Supplies provided: Manila paper, ¼ sheets of green and blue paper per child, and Bible phrase. Give each child a small piece of blue paper and of green paper to tear. Guide the children to glue some paper pieces on a sheet of manila paper. Relate the colors to green trees and blue skies. Glue the Bible phrase onto their paper. Say the Bible phrase while the children work. Make A Circle Of Friends: Sing this made-up song with the children (Tune: Farmer in the Dell ) A circle of friends, a circle of friends, let us hold hands together and make a circle of friends. Friends hop and hop, friends hop and hop, then we hold hands together and make a circle of friends. Add other actions. After a few minutes, remind the children about Jesus visit with Zacchaeus. and craft. Encourage them to repeat the Bible phrase to you.

Say: Let s find out why Zacchaeus sat in a tree while other people stood on the road. Give several children the Bible People Figures (Item 18) to pretend they are the people crowding the road in front of Jesus. Open your Bible to Luke 19 as you tell the Bible story in your own words. Lead the children to role play the story with the figures. Remark: Not everyone liked Zacchaeus; but Jesus did. Jesus wanted Zacchaeus to know that He loved him. Jesus wanted to help Zacchaeus learn how to treat other people and do the right things., thanking God for Jesus. Thank you, God that Jesus cared about Zacchaeus and He cares about us too. Bible Learning Activities Decorate a Bible marker Supplies provided: Preprinted Bible phrase on strips of colorful cardstock, stickers, and chunky or shaped crayons. Lead the children to decorate the strips with crayons and stickers. Read the words on the strips and relate them to Jesus love and His kindness toward Zacchaeus and others. Follow a tape line Supplies provided: Masking tape & teaching picture (Item 5) Make a tape path around the room leading to the Bible story picture. (Prop the picture in a place where children will notice it.) Guide the children to follow the path around the room. As the children walk, remind them that Jesus walked to a town. Many people wanted to see Him. Show the picture and ask the children to point to Zacchaeus. Invite children to sing along with songs they might know, or sing the song Jesus Loves Me. Turn to Mathew 14:14 and say the Bible phrase. and craft. Encourage them to sing Jesus Loves Me at home for their family.

As you pray, say thank you for the stories in the Bible that help us remember the things Jesus did. Invite the children to draw on a paper plate with markers. Let them use stickers to decorate their plate, if desired. Comment that the plate can remind us of special meals with family and friends. Relate this to the special meal Jesus had with His friends. Glue the Bible phrase onto the paper plate. Work puzzles Supplies provided: Item 19 Guide the children to put together the Jesus Picture Puzzles (Item 19). Comment that all the pictures help us remember Jesus and that He loves everyone.
