Soul-Winning: Share Your Story Matt 28:18-20, John 4:21-30 Go ye into the world and preach the good news to all creation (Mark 16:15 NIV). These were the words of Jesus to all believers. Preaching the gospel to others is our primary assignment and divine mandate here on earth. Everyone of us who has been saved and tasted the goodness of God is expected to reach out to the unsaved, testifying of Christ, making known the message of God's love and sharing our own personal testimonies. Our discussion today focuses on diverse simple ways of preaching the gospel no matter who we are and wherever we may be. Discussion Based on your own personal experience, what do you think is the easiest way to share the gospel? Discuss. Preaching the gospel is a charge and a command that we as Christians are supposed to obey. Below are some of the various ways by which we can effectively do so: Our personal life style Acts 11:22-26; 1Thess. 4:11-12 One-on-one and house to house evangelism Acts 20:20-21 Leveraging on technology through the social media 1 Cor 9:16, Matt. 6:33 Distributing tracts and fliers Psalm 68:11 Buying books and message CDs as gifts for our unsaved friends Gal 6:7-9 Preaching in the bus Mark 16:15 Inviting people to church programs Luk 14:23 Events and Occasions (Birthdays, Weddings, Anniversaries etc) Matt 9:9-12 Mention others. You do chat with your friends about how you spent your vacation, how your week went, narrate to your spouse how the day at work was, share what is on your mind with your Facebook pals and make broadcast through your BBM of the latest joke in town. In like manner, by sharing your personal testimony through a talk, phone call, message, post or in the course of a lunch/dinner date or casual outing, you can tell your God story and yield the greatest transformation of another soul. Use any medium and take advantage of every opportunity to spread the good news of salvation through Christ for he that wins a soul is wise. You will succeed in Jesus' name. Be A Soul-Winner Matt 28:18-20, 5:16 As born again children of God, the grace, peace, boldness, etc. that we enjoy today are the fruits of some direct efforts made by someone who led us to Christ. Freely we have received, freely we must also give. Let us therefore make that conscious effort to daily talk to some other person about Christ. Sharing your simple story and experience may just be what is needed to bring another to Christ. Today, we will see how to adopt a life style of winning souls. Have you ever found yourself in a place where you think sharing the gospel of Christ with someone would have changed their situation or life from where it is today? Yes or no. Discuss. Here are steps to take to adopting a daily life of soul winning Have a willing heart Pray for the souls you are interested in Look out for the right time and atmosphere i.e. be sensitive to the people around Even when rejected, keep trying and praying Follow up on them Conclusion: Soul winning gives great joy to the believer, and of course, rejoicing in heaven. You don't need to go far. Take advantage of lives within your area, especially those you see everyday. As you do, you will succeed in Jesus' name.
1st - 6th April, 2013 Soul Winning Is Your Business Prov. 11:30, Acts 1:8, Isa. 52:7 Soul Winning (aka Evangelism) is not optional for the Christian. Whether or not we have been called into full time ministry, each of us has been called into the ministry of reconciliation (2 Cor. 5: 18 19) with a mandate to win souls to God's kingdom (Mat. 28: 18 20). Therefore, God expects you to make soul winning an extension of your career. In this outline, we shall discuss how you can be an effective soul winner despite the constraints that you may encounter as a business practitioner. In your view, what are the common challenges that hinder the effectiveness of Christians in being soul winners in the market place? (Discuss) Soul winning does not have to be complicated. All God requires is your availability (not so much your ability) because He is the One that works in us to convert the lost (1 Cor. 3: 6 7). Below are ways by which you can improve your effectiveness in winning souls to Christ: Share the story of your salvation and testify of God's faithfulness to others (Jn. 4: 29 30, 1 Jn. 4: 14) Maintain a list of people that you pray for to be saved (e.g. Family members, friends, supervisors, colleagues, etc.) Let your life be a constant message to others (Mt. 5: 14 16, Lk. 8: 16) Set goals for soul winning knowing that God will reward your service (Prov. 11: 30b, Dan. 12:3) Ask God to help you to recognise the soul winning opportunities around you (Eph. 1: 17 19, Acts 26: 17 18) Ask God to birth compassion in you for the unsaved (Mt. 9: 35 36) Mention Others As God's business man or woman always remember that you are an asset to God's kingdom. By making soul winning a priority, you can enhance the impact you make on those you engage with on a daily basis knowing that God will honour your commitment and favour your cause. Let the love of God move you to reach out to the unsaved around you starting from this week and you will experience the fulfilment of bringing joy to God's kingdom. You will succeed in Jesus name.
