Corinthians 10:16 Hosts For every Mass have been donated by the Rosary Society From the Pastor s Desk My dear friends in Christ, Summer is officially over and now we return to the hectic and chaotic activities of our daily lives. School resumes, work becomes more intense, and it seems that we have no time for ourselves. Today is the first day of our Religious Education program. We welcome back our children and their families as they continue their faith formation and journey in our Lord Jesus Christ. Today we also commissioned our volunteer catechists who give so much of their faith and time in helping the parents of our Religious Ed students foster the faith in their children and family life. The readings this week remind us that in the midst of this daily life and chaos, the Lord calls us to an active faith life. It is an opportunity for us to partake in our Christian mission. We at Saint Mary's must take this very seriously. We need to find ways to refresh ourselves and strengthen our spiritual life. As Saint Paul reminds us: And: So also faith of itself, if it does not have works, is dead. Demonstrate your faith to me without works, and I will demonstrate my faith to you from my works. The community of Saint Mary s has many opportunities to put our faith into action. Through the efforts of some very dedicated individuals, Saint Mary's has cared for the needs of the less fortunate of our community and surrounding communities. This just might be the time for you to get involved in this wonderful ministry. The scripture reminds us as well as our Christian duties that we must not neglect the needs of others. So, you maybe asking yourself, what can I do? What will invoke a desire to enrich your spiritual life? You can begin right here at Saint Mary's maybe volunteering as a catechist, joining a prayer group, or Rosary Society. Helping out with our Pantry. You can volunteer at a soup kitchen, donate gift cards from food stores; these are just a few ways we can put our faith into action. May God continue to bless you and keep you safe. Fr. Ernie 1

It is estimated that fewer than 1 of Catholics are catechists. 3. Your own faith will come alive. As a catechist, you will discover that prayer, liturgy and your own relationship with God will become more vibrant and meaningful. 4. You show your family you value religious education. You will have the opportunity to get to know our new parochial vicar, Fr. Trinidad, who is extremely enthusiastic to become involved in our Religious Education Program as Moderator. He is the eldest of 18 children and looks forward to working with 600 of ours! He will be working with our new Director of Religious Education, Anthony G. Armando, and Fr. Catechetical Sunday Gracious and all-loving Father, out of love for all people you spoke your Word who became flesh for our salvation. May your Word transform me so that the message of your Son, our Lord, may be echoed through my teaching. Allow me to guide the hearts of those whom I teach in such a way that they will enter more deeply into your way of truth and salvation. Grant me the insight needed to lead them to know, love, and serve you. With the guidance of the Holy Spirit, may they become hearers and followers of your Word, so that they might help transform the world to follow the way of life to which your Son has called us all, for He lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. Amen. United States Conference of Catholic Bishops Chorus of Communities The Chorus of Communities and Director Richard Morgan invite you to join them for the Fall Season!
