infocus Qn 2. Why can t we use our own bibles? Why do we need to use The Books of the Bible: New Testament? Ans. It is designed to feel more like reading the original text. You will be amazed by the things you will notice with these simple changes (i.e. Bibles that have the verse and chapter numbers removed). You will notice stories and passages that you have never noticed before and gain a greater appreciation for God s living word. COMMUNITY BIBLE EXPERIENCE (CBE) Read The New Testament Like Never Before! READ BIG...READ REAL... READ TOGETHER As an expression of the WORD component of PLMC s DNA of SPIRIT- WORD-COMMUNITY, we enter into the adventure of reading the whole of the New Testament together as a church family. Frequently Asked Questions Qn 1. I am already doing a bible study. How is CBE useful to me? Ans. What Community Bible Experience offers is an excellent opportunity for anyone at any stage of their journey to engage with the full picture of God s story! This provides a great foundation and context for more detailed study of chapter and verse. It also helps develop a love for God s word and his people. After all, whenever we study a book the first thing we do is read it all of it before digging down into the detail of key messages and characters. Qn 3. I ve already read the Bible/New Testament right through (a few times). Why should I participate in the CBE? Ans. When you read the bible in community, you can share your thoughts and questions with others in small groups that follow a simple book-club style format. There s no advance preparation other than the reading you ve done for that week. Qn 4. I am not in a cell group. How do I participate in the CBE? Ans. If you are not in a cell, please register at the booth in the Fellowship Hall TODAY and you will be assigned to a group. Page 3

Movie Date: I m Not Ashamed I m Not Ashamed is based on a true story of Rachel Joy Scott. On April 20, 1999, the Columbine high school shooting completely redefined America s view of the lives of high school students. Drawing straight from Rachel Joy Scott s words and journal entries, through the insight of her mother, Beth Nummo, it is the true story of a high school student whose compassionate, caring faith, caused her to reach out to fellow students, including her killers who made her a target of their murderous plan. So, come and watch this movie with fellow young people and be encouraged to live out your faith in either your workplace or school. Date: TODAY, 1 Jul 2018 Venue: Conference Room Time: 2.30pm Cost: FREE (no registration required, just turn up on the date and time) Page 4 2.
