Help for Victims of the Guatemala Volcano

Presbyterian Disaster Assistance, an arm of One Great Hour of Sharing, is receiving contributions to provide assistance to victims of the Guatemala Volcano. The volcano is not in our sister presbyteries but it has impacted many and the need is critical. Checks can be written to Montreat Presbyterian Church with "Guatemala volcano relief" on the memo line. Find information here. Hope for Tomorrow As you know, our church made a major contribution to the SVCM Hope For Tomorrow campaign. Eight of the units have now been completed and five families have been assigned. We are now waiting to be assigned a family; however, we now need to furnish our unit. We know a number of you have agreed to help with the household items and we are working on collecting those items. We are now looking for some good used furniture. If you have any of these items, you may contact the church office, and Patty will relay the information. Someone will be contacting you to look at the furniture to see if it will fit into the unit. We are also looking for financial contributions to purchase mattresses and items we cannot find. Please make checks out to the Montreat Presbyterian Church and mark them "SVCM Hope." ITEMS NEEDED 2 small end tables sofa bed 2 floor lamps 2 table lamps 2 oblong (harvest table) dining room table 2 book cases entry bench 2 twin bed frames / head boards 2 living room chairs small metal table and 2 chairs 2 chest of drawers Pastor's Summer Calendar
