PHILOPTOHOS NEWS For anyone who missed last week s general assembly meeting, featuring the Ananias family, you truly missed out on a fascinating and frightening story. The Philoptohos Society wishes to thank them for giving their time to come speak at our meeting. Chairman Katrina Beers is putting together her committee and we already have a number of young ladies who are going to be presented. If you are interested in finding out more information about the Debutante Ball, you may send an email to: the4beers@sbcglobal.net and Katrina will be happy to answer your questions. NATIONAL CONVENTION 2014 - The National Philoptohos Biennial Convention will be taking place in Philadelphia, from July 6-9. President Virginia Noyes and First Vice President Helene Ballas will be attending, representing our Philoptohos chapter. We are planning to do another collection for the homeless along with a Philoptohos luncheon. This time we are planning to collect new backpacks and school supplies for homeless children. You may bring color markers, pens, erasers, notebook paper and pencils and/or backpack. The collection will begin in July and we re planning the lunch for August. More details will be coming. Philoptohos is still handling a large outreach program to help many people who are unemployed, struggling on social security, or are ill. If you would like to donate a gift card to our program from Target, Trader Joe s or Wal-Mart it would be greatly appreciated. You can be an angel to someone by helping Philoptohos in their work. For the poor you always have with you, but you do not always have me John 12:8. With love in Christ s service, Virginia Noyes and The Philoptohos Board of Directors 3
