Fr. Larry s Corner of the Bulletin We have two interesting miracle stories in today s Gospel. The stories of the healing of the woman with hemorrhages and the raising of Jairus daughter are intertwined. The women in both stories are in desperate situations. The woman with the hemorrhages had suffered greatly at the hands of many doctors and had spent all that she had. The daughter of Jairus who was at the point of death dies. For me, the most powerful lines in the Gospel are do not be afraid, just have faith. These words come right after Jairus is informed that his daughter had died. I guess nobody would have blamed Jairus if he had said Never mind Jesus you can t help. In spite of appearances, Jesus tells him to keep on believing Collection for June 17, 2018 that Jesus could help him. The Gospel Collection $6898.00 is really about events that touch all of our lives at times illness, death, bad things that upset our lives. At times like these we sometimes think Jesus can t help us either. Jesus says the same thing to us: do not be afraid, but have faith and after all, isn t that what faith really is! God bless!
