Vision Statement Our vision is to be more than a refuge; it is to be a revitalizing community where all may be saved, healed, strengthened, and equipped to go into the world on active mission for our Lord Jesus Christ. Published by Trinity Baptist Church Celebration Sundays by Dr. Ryan Wilson On the Christian calendar, we are in Eastertide, the longest period of the calendar. It is known as The Great 50 Days lasting from Easter until Pentecost. It is a time to celebrate Jesus resurrection. During the month of May, we will be celebrating something special each Sunday. On May 7 th, we will have Graduation Sunday when we think about accomplishments. May 14 th is Mother s Day and we will have a parent/child dedication. On May 21 st, we will have Preschool Sunday and highlight the ministry to over 90 children and families each week at Trinity. Then, on Memorial Day weekend, we will honor those who have died in service to our country and think about those folks of faith who have paved the way for us. A lot of us do well with our spiritual practices during the 40 days of Lent. Now, it is time to celebrate those practices during the 50 days of Easter. One thing you could do is to read all of the resurrection passages in the gospels. Another thing you might enjoy is looking at all of the post-resurrection sightings of Jesus, including the gospels, Acts, and what Paul says in his writing to the church of Galatia. You might take one of those passages and imagine yourself having a conversation with the risen Christ. Be creative with different ways to celebrate the Great 50 Days of Easter, and come and celebrate with your Trinity Family each week!

Music, Missions, and More Rev. Tony Vincent tony@trinitybaptistsc.org Lift Every Voice and Sing! Lift Every Voice and Sing is a hymn that served as the anthem of the Civil Rights Movement. Written by James Weldon Johnson in 1921, it began with the phrase Lift every voice and sing, till earth and heaven ring, ring with the harmonies of liberty As I think about the music here at Trinity these next few weeks, I find myself singing this tune! This Easter season will be filled with every kind of voice we have at Trinity singing about the great love of God. Our Children worked so hard to sing the song of God through the story of Jonah. Our youth choir will lead us in worship, as will our Sanctuary Choir and many other voices and instruments. As Easter continues, let us all lift our voices and let our churches and homes ring with the harmonies of God s liberty! LLL Event Tuesday, May 16, departing at 9:30 am We will travel for a day trip to the Bad Creek Project, part of Duke Energy s hydro-electrical production, for a guided tour of the facility. We will have a picnic lunch following the tour at Whitewater Falls picnic area. Cost: Free Trinity on Mission Notes Thanks to all who prayed for and supported our group of teachers who went to offer Continuing Education to several groups of teachers in conjunction with our ministry partner Project Ruth in Bucharest, Romania. It was a wonderful experience! Continue to pray for our team of 15 who are traveling to work with Project Ruth, June 30 July 8. This intergenerational team consists of youth, college students, young adults all the way to senior adults. When you give to Trinity on Mission this Spring, you will help support these who will go and serve. See Tony for more information! Our next month to host the Sabbath Soup Kitchen is July, another five-sunday month! If your Sunday School class or small group would like to prepare and serve Sunday Dinner at Our Daily Bread in July, see a member of the Trinity on Mission team! Put November 5-10 on your calendar! That is the tentative date for our 2nd work week in North Charleston with our friends at Metanoia. We ll do site clean-up, painting, and handicap ramp construction on several different sites affiliated with Metanoia. More info to come! Rebecca Sires Children s Corner 903-1303/edisto5@att.net Go, Go Jonah was a huge success. Thank you to every person who helped make this musical possible. It is a very big commitment for the kids as well as parents and volunteers. It would not be possible without the amazing people who make up Trinity Baptist Church and our community. God is so good. Music and Missions Night will be Wednesday, May 24. This will be our last Wednesday night for the summer. Come hear what our children have been doing all year in Choir, GA s/ra s and Mission Friends. End of Year Pool Party - Sunday, June 4. 12:30-3:30 Location to be announced VBS is scheduled for Sunday, June 11 Thursday, June 15. Volunteer and sign-ups will be Sunday, May 7 in the Gathering Area immediately following worship. Camp Prism dates are July 11-14. May 30th is cut-off date to sign-up. Sports Camp is Monday, July 24-28. Sign-ups on the Children's Corner bulletin board outside fellowship hall. This is a very hectic time of the year with spring sports, school work, end of year testing, church activities and life. Please take a moment each day to thank God for all this craziness. Try to enjoy each moment. Pray about it and thank God for giving you this time to be busy. One day it will calm down, and we will wonder where the time went. If you are interested in teaching Sunday School, our Kindergarten/1 st grade class needs a couple of teachers to rotate months. See Rebecca if you are interested in helping out with this ministry. You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power. Revelation 4:11A Preston Cooley Youth News 723-4889 Hello everyone! It is the last month of school, which means it is our last month of Sunday and Wednesday night activities until Fall. Our final Sunday together will be May 21st, and our last Wednesday will be the 24th. Don't worry, there will be lots of exciting activities and opportunities for fellowship in the coming months! I will get to a few of those activities in a moment, but there is one more important date in May I want to discuss, and that is Graduation Sunday. This year, Graduation Sunday will be May 7th, and it will be a bittersweet time as we prepare to send Sara Nix, Brianna Derrick, and Van Robertson off to college. The three of them have been at Trinity for a long time, so this will be a special service for our church and for them. I hope you can join us that morning to bless these bright young people as they begin the next chapter of their lives. As we transition to our summer schedule, I am happy to say our Passport Camp sign-ups are almost full! In order to sign your youth up, I will need you to provide a $50 deposit to secure his/her spot on the trip. If we fill all our spots and still have youth willing to go, I will try to add some extra spaces. To make that happen, I need everyone who is wanting to go to sign up as soon as you can, so that I can contact Passport with our revised numbers. June 1st will be our youth pool party to celebrate the end of the school year. Join us at the Wilson's for swimming and food starting at 4. At the end of the party at 7:30, the high schoolers will be going out to celebrate with their graduating seniors. I will be releasing our full summer schedule in the coming days, so stay tuned for more opportunities with TBCY.

It is hard to believe that we are already in May. March and April were very busy months around the preschool. In March we celebrated Dr. Seuss by having Green Eggs and Ham. We then had Green Day to celebrate St. Patrick's Day. The children had a lot of fun trying to catch the "leprechaun". Our Ugly Bug party this year was a little different. Rebecca, from the Melody Garden at the Botancial Gardens, came and played several instruments and taught us songs about bugs. The children really enjoyed her music and dancing with the bugs. Shortly after that we traveled to the Botancial Gardens and the children enjoyed a class and a tour of the gardens. Our Annual Four Year Old Art Show was held in the Gathering Area at the end of March. Thank you to Rebecca, Nikki, Catrina and Megan for doing such a great job with the children. April brought several activities also. We had our Easter Chapel with our parents and then ended the day with our Easter Egg Hunt and classroom parties. The end of the month we had a visit from the recycle truck as the classes talked about recycling. May will be very busy also. Our Mother's Day Tea will be May 12. May 19, our Fathers will have breakfast with their children. Preschool Sunday will be May 21. All our parents and children are invited to worship with us. The Preschool children will sing a couple of songs on that day. Our End of Year Program and Kindergarten graduation will be on Thursday, May 25 at 6:30 p.m. Our last day of Preschool will be May 26! Busy, busy month ahead. Our Summer Fun Program will begin on June 5. If you have anyone interested we are still taking registrations for children ages 3 - completed 1st. grade. Call the Preschool Office at 882-0285.. Maker Fun Factory VBS June 11 15, 2017 5:30 8:00 p.m. Volunteer and sign-ups will be Sunday, May 7 in the Gathering Area immediately following worship. Thank you for all your support! Susan Brock, Preschool Director
