Thursday workshops, including one for those new to the Conference Session, are detailed in this brochure as are the meals and other available activities. Our display and vendor area continues to grow and will be available Thursday morning through Friday afternoon. lease be sure to stop by the Glory Sightings display which will highlight many ways our churches are focusing outward in reaching people for Jesus Christ. Friday s lunch break will be a really exciting time with several food trucks available right outside the doors on Georgia Street, as well as a revival-like worship service. An invitation will be extended to the public to God of This City which will feature the worship band Sixteen Cities, stories and Scripture, and prayer. lease plan to be a part of this as a witness of your faith to the people who will gather to hear the Good News. Bishop Mike has invited Archbishop Joseph Tobin to speak at the rayer Breakfast where he will speak on ecumenism and the influence of ope Francis on people of faith throughout the world. In place of the Wednesday Day of Outreach, we will have a packing party for Kids Against Hunger Meals on Saturday, immediately following the Ordination service. As we strive to make disciples for Jesus Christ we need to know how we will respond and take care of our family, our Church and our community. Join us for an afternoon of learning and sharing information. Why have a Church Disaster plan?.because no one is immune to natural or human-caused disaster. Unfortunately, some church leaders do not recognize potential tragedy in their community. These are the ones who dismiss concerns by saying, We ve never had any disaster here. They would rather devote energy to more immediate business than plan for what seems impossible. If something happens, we ll deal with it then. Optional manual may be purchased for $20 (minimum one per church), which will be referred to in class. For additional information, contact Jim: jim.byerly@inumc.org or 812/756-2122. Utilities and healthcare are often the two largest costs after staffing and your stewardship in these areas can be worth thousands of $ s toward funding your ministries. Come join us to understand how to lower bills, stop taxes and receive three years of refunds & credits. There are also numerous no fee programs being used by hundreds of our UM churches we will share to help your stewardship efforts.
