Confessing Our Separation from God (unison) For the times we are afraid of the stranger, for the times we refuse the stranger, because we think our resources are just too meager, Lord, forgive us. For the times we stereotype the stranger as enemy, as dangerous, as inferior somehow, Lord, forgive us. For the times we are too busy trying to impress our guests the times we think we are being hospitable, but instead serve only our own needs Lord, forgive us. For the times we miss the gift of the stranger, for the times we close our door in fear, for the times we miss your face in the other, Lord, have mercy. Forgive us. A Time of Silent, Personal Prayer for Peace *Song of Assurance More Than Before Kelly S. Moor When I need forgiveness Lord, when my heart is cold, when I am feeling overwhelmed, but no-one seems to know; You are my source of life, my shining light, my calm in every storm. *Affirmation of Faith (unison) We Respond To God s Word 3 Diane E. Wendorf I believe it is a matter of faith to stand up for those who cannot stand up for themselves. I believe, it is a matter of faith to recognize equally and love all members of God s human family whatever their race, creed, color, gender, marital status, physical or mental capacity. I believe God s creation is good, beautiful, sacred and therefore to condemn any portion of God s creation is to condemn a portion of God. This is sin. I believe Jesus Christ came to us to free all people from sin and to make disciples-people willing to live Christ s discipline of love and justice for all. I believe the Holy Spirit is that power within us that gives us courage and stamina to face the truth and to live it, even to die for it, as Jesus did. I believe in the resurrection, the victory over death, the truth that is life for all in Jesus name. Glory be to God, the One in Three: Creator, Savior, and Holy power of love. Amen. Song of Invitation Come and Fill Our Hearts Come and fill our hearts with your peace. You alone, O Lord, are holy. Come and fill our hearts with your peace. Alleluia! Joys and Hopes of the People of God Offertory & Signing Chorale Improvisation on Carl Piutti of the Friendship Pad "Sollt ich meinem Gott nicht singen" *Doxology All That We Have Gerald Custer *Prayer of Thanksgiving (unison) Holy One, whose heart abounds with gifts, receive this offering as sign of our intention to live surrounded by your mercy, inspired by your Spirit, open to the joy of your presence, hospitable to one another, and generous toward your world. Amen. The Sacrament of Holy Communion Gluten-free bread is available in the plastic bags Song of Invitation 700 Sanctuary (2 times) Lord, prepare me to be a sanctuary, pure and holy, tried and true; With Thanksgiving, I ll be a living sanctuary for you. Invitation to the Lord s Table *The Great Prayer of Thanksgiving & The Lord s Prayer The Lord be with you. And also with you.

Lift up your hearts. We lift them to the Lord. Let us give thanks to the Lord our God. It is right to give our thanks and praise. Great is the mystery of our faith. Christ has died. Christ is risen. Christ will come again. Neighborhood House needs phone volunteers. Neighborhood House is a local non-profit charitable organization affiliated with the Farmington Area Goodfellows that provides assistance to needy families and individuals within our local community with help paying rent and utility bills, food from its food pantry, counseling services referrals, and referrals to other resources in the area that can provide help to those in need. Training will be provided to the phone volunteers, and the volunteer's phone time will be tailored to fit the volunteer's schedule and availability. Volunteering is easy with phone calls automatically forwarded to the volunteer's phone (no information of any kind about the volunteer or their phone number is identified) when no one is in at the Neighborhood House office to take calls. Phone volunteers take down basic information from the calls they receive and forward this to the Neighborhood House Client Support Specialist who then follows up on the phone call. If you are interested in volunteering or have any questions about volunteering, please contact the Neighborhood House office at 248-871-2848. The Cupboard is bare! Just in the middle of flu season, Neighborhood House is running out of supplies to help with cleaning. In early March we will collect paper products for Neighborhood House to supplement the cleaning supplies we collected earlier this month.
