Please pray for those on the prayer calendar this week (and their families): Elmer & Kathy Elias Cal & Darlene England Sharon Fonger Brett Francis Deanna Gebhart Please also pray for: Jessie Grant (continued recovery) Lee & Sylvia Schwartz and family (getting settled in Mexico) Jeremy Wilson (to be discharged Monday) Steven Bitschy & Ami Horn (upcoming wedding) Safe travel for those on holidays, including the Haugans (leaving Friday) Laurence & Kathy Cheveldayoff In the middle of June, we completed an eight-week course on Spiritual Warfare at New Life Baptist Church in Duncan, BC. Two extra sessions were added on for those who wanted to take the Seven Steps To Freedom In Christ. Being on the VIA (Vancouver Island Association - Baptist) and involved with SAM (Sylvan Acres Ministries - Baptist Camp) re-introduced us to the camping scene that we had not been involved in since Bolivia. Mind you, working in the Pantanal and then in the slums of Sao Paulo, one might say these ministries were just a different definition of the word camping!! We have been elected to the SAM camp board and assigned the ministry of helping with promoting the ministries and camps of SAM. When we return in December, we will take up the duties again in the physical sense because via internet and emails, we are still in contact with SAM. July: Please pray for the progress being made on the remodeling and construction at the Baptist Center in Heliopolis. This will mean a lot more space and future programs.
