Part 2 - Knowing What Belongs to You - Confession Brings Possession Luke 13:10-17 [Read] Let s pick up where we left off last week. But first, let s look at the book of Isaiah 57 and Luke 13:10-17 [READ] first. Do a review. 1. Main point verse 16: Satan Bound the woman. It wasn t God s fault. It s fundamental, to receive from God. God is the author of blessing and goodness. James 1:17 says: Every good and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variableness, neither shadow of turning. 2. Ought not this women? This women ought to be healed. These thing ought not be. Was it God s will for this women to be healed? Yes! Jesus is about to demonstrate the will, or how things ought to be. 3. The reason they ought is because she was a daughter of Abraham. Jesus is talking about Abraham, He is talking about a legal issue, He is taking about covenant. If you be Abraham s seed. Are you Abraham s seed? Then all the blessings of Abraham belong to you. Because you are heirs according to the promise. Things ought to be because she was a daughter of Abraham. There are things that ought to be because we are sons and daughters of Abraham. And there are things that should not be because we are the seed of Abraham. Why is this? Because this is the law. Jesus is referring back to the covenant the Abraham had with God that gave Abraham legal right to certain benefits and blessings, and it also gave God a legal right to bless him. Isaiah 57:13 Part B. Take notice of the word possess the land. Were talking about ownership and possession. We saw that ownership is determined by who pays for it and the price paid.

Hebrews 11:1: Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. (NKJV) or one translation says the title deed. As I meditate on these things, I realized I never present the same truth the same was. I never taught this this way before. Pastoring will cause you to say the same thing different ways, but you re essentially saying the same thing. Sometimes people get things they that they didn t get before. As I looked into this, I began to see things I didn t see before and I want to share these with you in the messages to come. So where faith is concerned, we re talking about ownership and possession. Faith gives substance to the things hoped for. It is the title deed to things we don t see. So faith is something that operates on legal bases. Confession brings possession, whatever I confess I possess. Isa 57:13 tells us confession is a function of faith. Faith does not produce ownership, faith produces possession. You can own a thing without possessing it. And you can own without possessing it for different reasons. If you have the title deed of a car, you own it regardless of who drives it. So you can own a thing without possessing it. You can also possess something without owning it. Maybe you re a thief! Now on the subject of faith, possessing the rights, privileges, the blessings, the benefits and promises of God, is going to operate with the understanding of ownership. Ownership is determined by who pays of it. Who owns my healing? I do! Jesus paid for it and gave it to me. Who owns my right to prosper or my power to get wealth? I do because Jesus paid for it with His blood and gave it to me because I m in covenant with Him. We re in covenant with one another. I m in Him and He is in me. We are one. How does that happen? How do I possess it? Do I take ownership by faith? No. My faith does not affect my ownership. The blood of Jesus determines ownership that was paid for it. I m not trying to own something by faith, I already own it. What I m working on is possessing it by faith. Confession brings possession. What I confess is what I possess and then, on the other hand, what I don t confess, I don t possess. But it doesn t mean that I don t own it. That s why when Jesus went into the synagogue He said things aren t right. This women is a daughter of Abraham and she is a seed of Abraham

and heir to the promise of healing. God had a covenant of healing with Abraham and this ought not be. Gen 15. Jesus called the women and said, Women you are loosed, not you re going to be loosed, or you ought to be loosed. She did not know she was loosed (or free). If you don t know you re loosed from something, you re not going to have faith to possess it. A lot of Christians walk in a cloud of deception when it comes to healing and prosperity. They think that is wrong to believe God to prosper and be healthy. They think maybe it is not His will for me. Maybe I ll be called a Name and Claim it person. All this goes back to a lack of understanding of ownership. Many people think it all belongs to God, and it does, but our life is with Christ in God, so it s as much ours as it is His. Jesus bought it with His blood, but He bought it all for us. Jesus doesn t need it. Jesus bought it. Jesus paid for it. And if Jesus wants to give it to us, that is His right. Amen. If I sign something over to someone, then it is theirs whether they use it or not. Faith doesn t determine your ownership; ownership needs to be determined before you get into a place of faith. When you know it is yours, you can step out in faith and possess what you confess, that which you already own. WHAT DO I SAY???? We look to the Word of God and it tells what legally belongs to us; not necessarily what we possess. But as I act in faith, what I confess I possess. And this will clarify the confusion over the tenses that we sometimes experience. This is where people get tripped up because they don t what to say. Do they say I have when they don t have it? What I am I supposed to say.

The way God puts things, it is either the past tense (already done) of the present tense. Now Hebrews 11:1 faith is present. God will say things like I have given the land to you. God told Abraham I am. Or, God may say you were healed in the W of G. 1 Peter 2 are, and Isaiah 53 were. Or you may read that you have the mind of Christ (Present). When God speaks of it, it is either in the past tense or the present tense. It s ready done or that s the way it is. On the other hand, when we talk, what we re dealing with is the possessing of it aspect, and that is where we get tripped up. But when I begin to talk like I know it is mine, then I m possessing it and that is how my faith possesses what is already legally mine. When I begin to talk like it is already mine. Example - do you have a car = yes, but we don t see it. But he means he owns it, and even if it is not here. And you can see that use own and have interchangeably. I own condo in Florida. It is not here, but I see it. I can see the layout the couch, the beds, the desk, and so on. And if you ll come with me, you ll see it. Even though it is not in my physical presence, I own it. I possess it, it is mine. Is it wrong if I know that healing belongs to me, if I know that I am the owner of the purchased physical benefit of healing, that Jesus hung on the cross, shed His blood, took those stripes, went to hell, did all He did to pay the full price? If I know He did that and I also know that what is His is mine by virtue of covenant relationship and I m the seed of Abraham, if I know all that, am I wrong to say I have my healing? You might say well you don t look like it. Then come on, and just walk with me, and you ll see it. I know it s mine, I know I own it and by faith I possess it. My confession of faith brings possession.

When I begin to talk like I know that I have it, then I am possessing it. It is the same thing when we say we have something. We might not have in our possession but we have it. We re talking about the promises of God, ownership, and what belongs to us and how to possess it. Malachi 3:13 "Your words have been harsh against Me, Says the LORD, Yet you say, 'What have we spoken against You?' (NKJV) God is talking and asking a question, then He answers it. Here is the answer. (Arguing both sides of the questions) Mal 3:14: You have said, 'It is useless to serve God; What profit is it that we have kept His ordinance, and that we have walked as mourners before the LORD of hosts? (NKJV) God doesn t change, and neither do people. When do we say it is vain to serve God? What is the meaning? When people say it s not working that s like saying that it is of no profit to serve God. Examples: When you say, I won t have enough to pay my bills = it doesn t profit to serve God. When you say, I won t have enough to buy groceries = it doesn t profit to serve God. When you say, I guess we ll just have to do without = it doesn t profit to serve God. Mal 3:15-17: (15) So now we call the proud blessed, For those who do wickedness are raised up; They even tempt God and go free. (16) Then those who feared the LORD spoke to one another, And the LORD listened and heard them; So a book of remembrance was written before Him For those who fear the LORD And who meditate on His name. (17) "They shall be Mine," says the LORD of hosts, "On the day that I make them My jewels. And I will spare them. [NKJV]

The point I want to make is this: God hears what you say in public. He hears what you say to your friends, and He hears what you say in your bedroom. Your church talk is not important; it s your talk outside of church. It s your school talk, and at home or at work talk. God hears and keeps a book of remembrance. When you speak like you know you own it, even though you may not see with your natural eyes, if you talk like you know it s yours, and you speak like you own it, God hears it, the devil hears it, and you are possessing what Jesus purchased for you. The Lord told Abraham, every place your eyes I will give you. It wasn t I have given you. Because God was cutting a covenant with him. God hadn t given it yet, He was establishing legal grounds for what we enjoy today. From that point, when God spoke to Israel it was I have given you, because He had established in Abraham. Joshua 1 God told Joshua every place you foot shall tread I have given to you. He didn t tell him I will give it. He was talking legally. God always talks about legal rights and ownership. Here we are several hundred years later and God already settled it legally with Abraham, now here it is. It s yours. I have given it to you. In Gen 15 God is going to give them the land to inherit. It became legally theirs. In Numbers 13 they spied out the land that was legally theirs. In Deut 1 they are told and to go possess it. From Gen 15 to Deut 1 it was legally theirs, they owned it it was not until Joshua 6 that they began to possess it. In 1948 after the Israelites have been scattered, they got their land back. God gave it to Abraham. The last 50 years they had to fight for their land. In their minds they are fighting over land. The people against Israel don t know they are instruments of the devil; they think it s about the land. Matt 12:43-45 The devil believes that your life is something he has ownership rights to. The devil is always challenging God s ownership rights in your life. This is where we people of faith have to make a decision, it is a battle between light and darkness, not only to get you saved but to get you through life as a whole. That s why there is resistance to you possessing what you own. Somebody that is occupied of the devil demon possessed.

The devil is working to possess territory that he has been evicted from, because he believes he has ownership rights. He wants you to live under the curse of sickness, disease, lack, fear, pain, etc. But God says you belong to Him you were bought with a price! The thing is this you re the one who has the say of what you are or what you re not going to possess. Legally, you own everything Jesus purchased, but it takes faith to possess. Remember what Jesus defeated the devil with. Matt 4, It is written that is legal talk. I m not an attorney, but when lawyers argue a case, they always look for what is written in the law, a precedent. So when satan came to Jesus to side track Him, Jesus dealt him with on a legal bases. By doing that, Jesus gave the pattern to follow. Give example of everything falling apart, circumstances bad, and you quoting the Word am I nuts? No, I m simply agreeing with what is written. I m establishing my ownership rights and at the same time taking steps of faith and possessing the land that rightfully belongs to me. In closing Mal 3 On the subject of confession, we ve all been in that place where it didn t seem to be working and circumstances seem to be in opposition to what you were saying and what the Bible said. We ve all been there and we wonder if we re doing everything right. May I give you a little insight? It seems to me as I look at the Word of God, that God is a little more tolerant towards you challenging Him about the way things are than about you complaining to others about the way things are. There were several times when Abraham and Moses went to God and said in essence, now wait a minute. Abraham challenged God, you re not going to destroy that city if there any righteous. And He negotiated with God. Moses argued with God right off the bat. We see people challenging the Lord honestly and God doesn t seem to get upset. But when people talk about God to other people in a tone of doubt or unbelief, complaining or griping, that is when the Lord shows little patience.

As you start to change your street talk and start claiming what rightfully belongs to you and walking in ownership rights, and you have questions that arise, it s okay to go to someone who is more mature in the Lord than you to get advice. But it is good to go to God when you have questions. Talk to God about it. Most who talk about things not working don t talk to the Lord about it. They talk to everybody but the Lord about it. The Lord will be patience with you if you ll be honest with Him. He s not hard to get along with. He s full of mercy, and forgiveness. He is the only that can help you any way. What I confess I possess.
