Christ Church Chronicle April 2017 Come and Worship! Remember, dear hearts, we are an Easter people. For us Christians, Easter is the most significant holy day on the calendar. Week at Christ Church starts at on Sunday, April 9 th, the Sunday of the Passion: Palm Sunday. The name for this first day in Week is taken from the palm branches with which the people welcomed Jesus as He entered Jerusalem. Later in the Week, we will have the liturgies for Maundy Thursday and Good Friday, each of which begins at 5:30 p.m. at Christ Church. On Maundy Thursday, we participate in the celebration of the institution of the, followed by the stripping to the altar; on Good Friday, we participate in the three-part liturgy, which consists of the quite simple liturgy of the Word, the Veneration of the Cross, and Communion from the reserved sacrament. At on Easter Day, April 16 th, we joyfully and gratefully proclaim Jesus Resurrection. Please plan on attending and participating in the liturgies. When we participate, God works quite deeply and effectively in our lives. I very much look forward to having you, your children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, other relatives, friends, neighbors, co-workers, and everyone else at worship at Christ Church.

Henry.Doyle@s-sm.org Thank you. Be blessed and strengthened Father Henry **For security reasons, the door, which leads to hallway where the offices are located, must be closed when no authorized person is in the building. If you are the last person in the building, please close the door. The reason is that if an unauthorized person enters the church through the outside door that leads directly to the offices, he or she would not gain access to the parish hall or worship space upstairs. Thank you for helping us keep the church safe for all involved in the life of our beloved parish.
