Morning Worship on the Lord s Day May 20, 2018 8:30 am Gathering Welcoming First Time Guests Introit Spirit Song Kim Cherry Martin *Call to Worship And in the last days it shall come to pass, God declares, that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh, And your sons and daughters shall prophesy, your old shall dream dreams, and your young shall see visions. When the Day of Pentecost had come, they were all gathered together in one place. And suddenly a sound came from heaven like the rush of a mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. And there appeared to them tongues as of fire, distributed and resting on each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit. *Hymn UMH 419 I Am Thine, O Lord Announcements and Connection Cards Reception of New Members Joys and Concerns of the Congregation Call to Prayer Holy Ground Kim Cherry Martin Pastoral Prayer The Lord s Prayer Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen. *Passing of the Peace of Christ *The Apostles Creed I believe in God the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth; And in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord: who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead and buried; the third day He rose from the dead. He ascended into heaven, and sitteth at the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence He shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen. *Gloria Patri UMH 71 *The Children s Hymn UMH 393 Spirit of the Living God The Children s Message Pastor George Anthem I Am Not Ashamed of the Gospel of Jesus Christ Romans 1:16 Kim Cherry Martin We re an anchor for those who are hurting, we re a harbor for those who are lost; sometimes it s not always easy bearing Calvary s cross. We ve been ridiculed by those who don t know Him, and mocked by those who don t believe. Still, I love standing up for my Jesus cause of all that He s done for me. That s why I am not ashamed of the Gospel, the Gospel of Jesus Christ. No, I am not afraid to be counted but I am willing to give my life. See, I am ready to be all that He wants me to be to give up the wrong for the right. No I am not ashamed of the Gospel. No, I am not ashamed of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I ve got too much behind to let this world blind me. To some He s a name but to me He s my everything. For every moment, His hand held mercy, for all the love that He s shown all my life, a simple thanks doesn t say how I m feeling; I get tears in my eyes. So, as for me I m gonna keep on believing in the One whose been faithful to me. I m not out to please this whole world around me. I ve got my mind on eternity. Take my hands, and let them move at the impulse of Thy love; take my feet, and let them be swift and beautiful for Thee. Take my voice, and let it sing, always, only, for my King. Take my lips, and let them be filled with messages from Thee. Take my silver and my gold; not a mite would I withhold. Take my intellect, and use every power as Thou shalt choose. Take my will, and make it Thine; it shall be no longer mine. Take my heart, it is Thine own; it shall be Thy royal throne. Take my love, my Lord, I pour, at Thy feet its treasure store. Take myself, and I will be, I will be ever, only, all for Thee. *Doxology UMH 94 Praise God, from whom all blessings flow; Praise God, all creatures here below; Alleluia! Alleluia!
