The Old Testament Lesson Malachi 3:1-6 3:1 Behold, I will send my messenger, and he shall prepare the way before me: and the Lord, whom ye seek, shall suddenly come to his temple, even the messenger of the covenant, whom ye delight in: behold, he shall come, saith the LORD of hosts. 2 But who may abide the day of his coming? and who shall stand when he appeareth? for he is like a refiner s fire, and like fullers sope: 3 And he shall sit as a refiner and purifier of silver: and he shall purify the sons of Levi, and purge them as gold and silver, that they may offer unto the LORD an offering in righteousness. 4 Then shall the offering of Judah and Jerusalem be pleasant unto the LORD, as in the days of old, and as in former years. 5 And I will come near to you to judgment; and I will be a swift witness against the sorcerers, and against the adulterers, and against false swearers, and against those that oppress the hireling in his wages, the widow, and the fatherless, and that turn aside the stranger from his right, and fear not me, saith the LORD of hosts. 6 For I am the LORD, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed. Psalm 82. Deus stetit. GOD standeth in the congregation of princes; * he is a Judge among gods. 2 How long will ye give wrong judgment, * and accept the persons of the ungodly? 3 Defend the poor and fatherless; * see that such as are in need and necessity have right.
4 Deliver the outcast and poor; * save them from the hand of the ungodly. 5 They know not, neither do they understand, but walk on still in darkness: * all the foundations of the earth are out of course. 6 I have said, Ye are gods, * and ye are all the children of the Most Highest. 7 But ye shall die like men, * and fall like one of the princes. 8 Arise, O God, and judge thou the earth; * for thou shalt take all nations to thine inheritance. Psalm 98. Cantate Domino. O SING unto the Lord a new song; * for he hath done marvellous things. 2 With his own right hand, and with his holy arm, * hath he gotten himself the victory. 3 The Lord declared his salvation; * his righteousness hath he openly showed in the sight of the heathen. 4 He hath remembered his mercy and truth toward the house of Israel; * and all the ends of the world have seen the salvation of our God. 5 Show yourselves joyful unto the Lord, all ye lands; * sing, rejoice, and give thanks. 6 Praise the Lord upon the harp; * sing to the harp with a psalm of thanksgiving. 7 With trumpets also and shawms, * O show yourselves joyful before the Lord, the King.
8 Let the sea make a noise, and all that therein is; * the round world, and they that dwell therein. 9 Let the floods clap their hands, and let the hills be joyful together before the Lord; * for he is come to judge the earth. 10 With righteousness shall he judge the world, * and the peoples with equity.

Also, children s books would be wonderful - we want to promote a summer reading program while children are out of school for the summer. A big thank you to those who are contributing to our book drop in the Parish Hall. This is a ministry that can go on indefinitely as long as the books keep coming. Agape Food Pantry We continue to shop for canned foods. You can find most anything in a can. Don t forget - they love pop-tops! Hospitality Our hostess today is Katherine Keenan.
