Karen Berg Karen tuned into spirituality at a very young age. As a child who didn t know her father, she was raised by an independent woman. Transferring from school to school, Karen was unable to put down roots. As a result of this unconventional and nomadic existence, Karen was often mocked by her peers. One night a gang of school kids threw Karen into a construction pit. She couldn t get out and thought she would die there until she heard a voice that said, Don t cry. You ll see there s a reason for everything that s come down in your life. She was only ten years old at the time, but since that experience, she knew there was a higher power. This event incited Karen to search for greater meaning and connection. She began to study spirituality, reincarnation, healing energy, and astrology. By the age of 18 she was a medium. She married young and had two daughters. But Karen wasn t born for a traditional lifestyle and felt that one day her true calling would be revealed. For a time she worked for Rav Berg as an administrator. Nine years passed, and life changed for them both, but they were reconnected through a business associate. When Karen learned the Rav was studying Kabbalah, she said to him I ll work for free if you teach me. In those days, women were forbidden to study Kabbalah. But being open-minded, Rav Berg sought guidance and asked his teacher to come to him in a dream. Without any sign of approval, the following day he meant to inform Karen that he wouldn t be able to teach her. But instead Karen surprised him by sharing a dream she had about a holy looking man. By her description of the man s garb and foreign language, the Rav knew this was his teacher. This was the permission for which he had asked. It was a pivotal moment in Kabbalistic history, and in their personal lives. Karen delved deep into the study of Kabbalah and years later they married. It was Karen who said to the Rav, Look I m no great big soul. If I can understand this wisdom then others can too. Let s open The Kabbalah Centre to everyone. Since that time 40 years ago, Karen has committed her life to introducing the teachings of Kabbalah as a practical tool for actualizing potential, and to expanding the presence of spirituality in the world. She is author of the groundbreaking God Wears Lipstick: Kabbalah for Women, and Simple Light, a collection of insights culled from her writings and teachings over the last 30 years. Testimonials for God Wears Lipstick On September 11th, 2001 my husband went to work and never came home. He was a City Firefighter called to the World Trade Center as the towers burned. In 12 seconds life as I knew it was over. Soon after, I had this dream I was standing on an island no bigger than a postage stamp. There I was, surrounded by an ocean with little hope of survival. I woke from that dream wanting not to believe (but feeling I had no other option) that I was alone, abandoned by God, and to want more from life was hopeless. In our pursuit of happiness, women carry distinguishable differences on how we see and expect to be seen in the world. Most of these differences are fashioned by someone else s interpretation on what they d like us to be. Yet at the core of every woman s heart center we know there s an intelligence, a passion, a wit and determination that we might never reveal to another for fear of being judged and rejected. Karen Berg has so eloquently illustrated an absolute, that we alone hold the power to our happiness, and that my dream was nothing more than a figment of fear. This nourishing guide to womanhood and to life has helped me open my heart to love again, learn to navigate and embrace a new marriage, and genuinely appreciate the incredibly divine matrix the Light has created for us in so many ways. More importantly, Karen has shown me the spectacular beauty that shines in my womanhood and that the Light within me is boundless! Celebrate with me God really does wear lipstick. Marie Michelle Having spent most of my career in the corporate rat race, I found myself stuck in a strange and contradictory schizophrenic duality of the super-masculine, cut-throat productivity mode at work, and an all-giving-without-boundaries doormat in close relationships. Through God Wears Lipstick, I have started to understand what feminine power means and my role and duty as a woman in this world. In our society the words power and feminine are not commonly associated together. However, through Karen's book I learned that the all mighty God is indeed feminine, and as the daughter of this Divine Force I am also a powerful creative force. Thank you, Karen. Suki Sohn God Wears Lipstick lead me to transform by showing me the unique and powerful role I have as a woman. I became aware of my capacity to influence the events in my life by taking responsibility for all outcomes good and bad. This new awareness reflected in a positive way in my relationship with my soul mate and took it to a higher and deeper level. Any woman who wants to be in touch with their true potential should definitely read this book. Thank you Karen for bringing this amazing wisdom closer to all women who want to change their lives and be the best they can be as the Creator intended. Ayse Esenler Istanbul, Turkey

Kabbalah is one of the world s oldest wisdoms, tracing back more than 4000 years. It explains the mysteries of our universe, as well as the nature of the human heart and soul. Kabbalah simplifies complexities of the physical and the spiritual dimensions, as well as the physical and spiritual nature of all humankind. Kabbalah means to receive, to get. It provides an understanding of our purpose: to receive fulfillment. This is the true meaning of life. Kabbalah Publishing is the official publishing division of Kabbalah Centre International, Inc. We are distributors of the ancient wisdom of Kabbalah. Since the first recorded document hailing back to The Book of Formation, written by Abraham 4,000 years ago, Kabbalah was a closely guarded mystery reserved for scholars. That changed in 1922 when The Kabbalah Centre was established by Rav Ashlag, This master kabbalist was the first to modernize the wisdom and make it accessible. He then passed the mantle of leading The Kabbalah Centre and publishing the sources of enlightenment to his student, Rav Brandwein, who later passed it to Rav Berg. Rav Brandwein began publishing and self-distributing ancient texts under the imprint of Kabbalah Learning Centre. These include The Zohar, The Writings of the Ari, as well as The Ten Luminous Emanations. We also printed introductory and explanatory titles such as An Entrance to the Zohar and An Entrance to the Tree of Life. Rav Berg broke with the tradition of keeping this wisdom exclusive to only male scholars, when he began to teach his wife, Karen. Together in 1971 they opened The Kabbalah Center to everyone. Today, Kabbalah Centre International has grown to more than 30 Centres around the world and a multitude of study groups. In 1988 our imprint changed to Research Centre of Kabbalah and we published Kabbalah for the Layman, To the Power of One, Secret Codes of the Universe, Time Zones, and Wheels of a Soul, which have each sold nearly 20,000 copies. Historically, the wisdom is relayed from master to disciple. Every generation has teachers who in turn study and transmit the knowledge to their students. The Kabbalah Centre and Kabbalah Publishing operate in much the same manner. For four decades, Rav Berg and Karen Berg have been sharing this wisdom through books and classes, and more recently with online content. Their sons, Yehuda and Michael have also committed their lives to teaching kabbalah, and the student base now spans the globe. Kabbalah Publishing officially launched in 2002 with Michael Berg s bestseller, The Secret. Yehuda Berg continued the success with The 72 Names of God in 2003. This was one year after he and his brother garnered great acclaim at other publishing houses with their seminal works, The Way, (Michael Berg, Wiley) and The Power of Kabbalah, (Yehuda Berg, Jodere). Repackaged with the Kabbalah Publishing logo, The Power of Kabbalah has since been licensed into 23 languages, including Spanish, German, Dutch, Turkish, Italian, Bulgarian, Latvian, Korean, Russian and Portuguese. Honoring the path true to the lineage of The Kabbalah Centre, Michael authored the first Aramaic to English translation of the 23-volume set of The Zohar, including the commentary known as the Sulam, a project he began when he was only 18 years old and completed ten years later. Previously, The Zohar, and the knowledge contained therein was only available to the great scholars of history among them Plato, Pythagoras and Newton. This time-honored wisdom is simplified and made highly accessible in Rav Berg s The Power of You, which illuminates methods for maximizing personal potential, and finding contentment. In a radical departure from kabbalistic tradition, Karen Berg penned the first book on Kabbalah for women, God Wears Lipstick. With subjects ranging from relationships and sex, to prosperity, and Bible studies, Kabbalah Publishing has an active backlist of 70 print titles, plus audio titles such as The Living Kabbalah System, the first ever at home study system on Kabbalah following the master teacher model bringing the wisdom forward another step in accessibility. We release approximately 25 books a year, including new editions of classics, and books in the Spanish language. In 2010 with robust sales in English and Spanish for The Power to Change Everything by Yehuda Berg, Kabbalah Publishing printed its first title in Portuguese, O Poder de Mudar Todo. Working with our licensing partners, many of our titles are available in other languages such as The Way, which has been translated into Spanish, German, Japanese, Arabic, Dutch, Turkish, Portuguese, Danish, Finnish, Swedish, Italian, Bulgarian, Romanian, Latvian, Greek. Farsi, Ukranian, Korean, and Czechoslovakian.
