Supporting Scriptures Doctrine & Covenants 36:7a,b: The Lord said unto Enoch, Behold these your brethren; they are the workmanship of my own hands, and I gave unto them their knowledge, in the day I created them; and in the garden of Eden gave I unto man his agency; and unto your brethren have I said, and also gave commandments, that they should love one another, and that they should choose me, their Father; Deuteronomy 30:15-16, 19-20: [15-16] See, I have set before thee this day life and good, and death and evil; In that I command thee this day to love the Lord thy God, to walk in his ways, and to keep his commandments, and his statutes, and his judgments, that thou mayest live and multiply; and the Lord thy God shall bless thee in the land whither thou goest to possess it. [19-20] I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live; That thou mayest love the Lord thy God, and that thou mayest obey his voice, and that thou mayest cleave unto him; for he is thy life, and the length of thy days; that thou mayest dwell in the land which the Lord sware unto thy fathers, to Abraham, 2

Put Off & Put On ~ Christ is the Key Mosiah 1:119-120: For the natural man is an enemy to God, and has been, from the fall of Adam, and will be, for ever and ever; But if he yields to [chooses to obey] the enticings of the Holy Spirit, and putteth off the natural man, and becometh a saint, through the atonement of Christ, the Lord, and becometh as a child, submissive, meek, humble, patient, full of love, willing to submit to all things which the Lord seeth fit to inflict upon him, even as a child doth submit to his father. Every lesson will have a work page with the above title & scripture quote followed with DO THIS instructions. The purpose of this page is to help us realize that which stands in our way of choosing eternal life. You will be asked to identify things of the natural man that you desire and need to PUT OFF [i.e. habits, weaknesses, tendencies, time occupiers, etc.] that prevent us from yielding to [choosing to obey] the enticings of the Holy Spirit. After identifying those areas, you will then write down the attributes of the spiritual man that will replace the natural man habits, that which you want to PUT ON : i.e. that becometh a saint and becometh as a child, submissive, meek, humble, patient, full of love, willing to submit to all things which the Lord seeth fit to inflict upon him. You will also need to record, with some detail, your PLAN OF ACTION to put on such spiritual man attributes. Remember that Christ is the key, our great Mediator, through whom & to whom we are to yield or choose to obey. Listen to Lehi s counsel to his sons and the other brethren gathered with him as it is recorded in 2 Nephi 1:122-123: And now I would that ye should look to the great Mediator, and hearken unto his great commandments; And be faithful unto his words, and choose eternal life, according to the will of his Holy Spirit, He is our great Mediator through Him Choose Eternal Life Turn your eyes upon Jesus Look into His wonder face And the things of earth [the natural man] Will grow strangely deem In the light of His glory and grace. Family Goals: The JCRB General Conference April, 2014 determined goals for the conference for the following two years. There were four topics that goals were established: Mission, Education, Youth and Family. For each topic, the body determined the 3 visions and their action goals. You can view all of the topics and goals on the JCRB web site: jointconferenceofbranches.org. The Family Goals that were determined were: 1) In the home, Commit to Strengthening the Family; 2) Sponsor Special Events; 3) Commit to the Stewardship of Life in the Family. In the lessons you will find references to the third area listed and their goals, or plan of action for them, as printed below. It is the hope of the RWM committee as you implement them that they will be meaningful for you and your family to draw you closer to God and eternal life with Him. GOAL 3. Stewardship of life in the Family is to: teach humility in word and by deed to love God and to love and serve one another; to have charity; obey the laws of God and live peaceably with others that none be injured by word or deed; be supportive of one another; take upon us the name of Jesus; in worship, in prayer, and in honor; share responsibilities in the home; learn to carry a share of the work; discipline define it and practice it to stand steadfast in faith for truth; lead in prayer, study and fasting with Aaronic Priesthood assistance; study the scriptures to understand the pattern, the responsibilities, and roles of each member in the Family as God has ordained; grow in the knowledge of our God who created us and seek His spirit for guidance; be ever learning and understanding; magnify talents and personal gifts God has blessed each one with so we are a blessing to others; prepare the house of the Lord, a house of prayer, fasting, faith, learning, and order; be a productive member; assist at the church in the nursery, at potlucks, in cleaning chores; willingly share talents and gifts in worship services; care for things God has given us; see the needs of others and respond affirmatively; learn and study the financial law of Stewardship; account for the financial aspects of life by keeping records; file a Tithing Statement and pay the tithe; be accountable for your actions and reactions, in all things and in all times 8
