In Paul's words, If you have experienced the love of the Lord Jesus, you will also want to introduce Him to others. It is God s will that I share an experience that I hope will inspire you. In my earlier days, I had a group of 12 wonderful friends that included six men and six women. We watched over one another, helped and truly Come See, The Redemption Submitted by Sis. Sharon Miller, Easter Program Coordinator This year our Easter presentation Redemption, will be held on Sunday, March 29 at 6:30 p.m. This is a back-to-basics scripture based adaptation of the Resurrection. This is our 10 th year of assimilating the events surrounding the life, death, burial and resurrection of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Just as when we started, ten years ago the youth will take the lead. The Drama Ministry will present, Easter speeches, instrumentals, singing, and praise dancing. This year s celebra- cared for each other, but we were not living a life pleasing to God. As time passed, we grew apart. Some of our friends got married, some Pastor Marvin G. Parker moved away, attended school or just lost touch. One particular member of our group that I saw this day, I hadn t seen in years. On this particular day, we spoke and reminisced about good memories; it was such a wonderful time. My friend shared that she was Continued on page 4 tion promises to be a unique experience. Since the program will be held on Palm Sunday the Triumphal Entry will also be highlighted. Our Easter program will begin with the great historical event that takes place in Jerusalem where Jesus makes His triumphal entry. It is a significant event because Jesus publicly establishes Himself as King of the Jews. The people welcomed Continued on page 2 Are you sure of your relationship with God? You can live a better life on earth with assurance of a perfect existence with God in the afterlife. How? By asking God s forgiveness for your sins and then accepting Jesus payment for the penalty of your sins. March 2015 Easter Program: Redemption Continued from page 1 Him out of their desire for a deliverer, someone who would lead them in a revolt against Rome. But when He failed to meet their expectations, when He refused to lead them in a massive revolt against the Romans and those who collaborated with them, the crowds quickly turned on Him. Within just a few days, their Hosannas would change to cries of, Crucify Him! Through his death, burial, and resurrection, Jesus paid the penalty for sin, thus purchasing for all who believe in Him, eternal life in Christ Jesus. As His followers, the world sees the true King living and reigning in triumph within us. We look forward to having you join us on Sunday, March 29 at 6:30 p.m. Due to inclement weather, new member were not fellowshipped in during the month of February. The Voice Church Trustees Installed By Leixy Kidd The attributes of a good leader include commitment, foresight, and diligence. Christian leaders are servants. Jesus specifically addresses servant leadership in Matthew 20:25 26 and John 13:1 17, where he defines a servant leader as one who humbly serves others based on their love for them. The new trustees, (pictured right) who were installed in January, possess these characteristics and more. Brother Larry Owens stated, I love teaching and telling kids about the Word of God. Brother Spencer Rhone s favorite scripture is James 5:13-16, And the people said unto Joshua, The Lord our God will we serve, and his voice will we obey, ( Joshua 24:24). As these brothers grow in their leadership position, they will need our support and cooperation. So let s applaud their willingness to serve and remember them always in our prayers. Right to left: Larry Owens, Spencer Rhone and Marvin Edwards Page 3

March 2015 Easter Sunday Celebration Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life..., (John 4:6 KJV). Join us on Easter Sunday, April 1, as we celebrate the death, burial and resurrection of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. The schedule is... 7:00 a.m. Early Morning Worship 8:15 a.m. Sunday School Easter says you can put truth in the grave, but it want stay there. Clarence W. Hall 10:00 a.m. Morning Worship 5:00 p.m. New member Orientation 6:30 p.m. Communion Service Pastor s Corner Continued from page 1 married, had a family and was very happy. She mentioned that her family was about to take a wonderful trip to the south. She and her husband had recently converted to the Muslim faith. I had become a Christian however, I didn t share the good news about our Lord Jesus Christ that day. Little did I know that this would be the last day that I would ever see my good friend. She lost her life in a terrible, head on collision; she was killed instantly. Most unsaved folks are not in church, we must therefore go outside of church building and share the Good News of Jesus Christ. Sharing Christ is a personal evangelistic decision. What we must do as Christians, is seek out non-believers to introduce them to Christ. Are you nervous about witnessing? If so, the question I want to ask is, Do you Love Jesus? In order to share the Good News of Christ, we must have a life that reflects Christ. Two of the Page 4 requirements for being a good witness is following Him and denying yourself. Do not worry about being rejected, or your feelings being hurt. Not only will God give you the opportunities to share His love, God will help you make the most of every opportunity. The Holy Spirit will guide you as you witness. Jesus says go and I will be with you. As Christians, we want to share God's love, especially with people we care about. We should live such good lives among the non-believers that they may see our good deeds and glorify God (ref. 1 Peter 2:12). We need to be careful about how we walk before others and that we speak with love. Our lives and words should reflect that of Jesus. Witnessing, is dealing with a person s spiritual concerns. This is a spiritual opportunity to share the Good News about Jesus. When we witness to our unsaved friends we should pray to be guided by the Holy Spirit. We don t have to convince someone, we just need to share the Word. Let the Word of God speak for itself. The Holy Spirit will guide you. Jesus calls us to preach the gospel to the ends of the earth. Please understand that I m not saying that my good friend went to heaven or hell. The Bible says, Judge nothing before its time, (1 Corinthians 4:5). The important point is that we need to take every opportunity to share the love and the Word of our Savior, Jesus Christ, before it s too late.

The Voice Marriage Ministry s Movie Night A dozen different souls all moving in different directions, all longing for something more. As their lives unexpectedly intersect, they each are about to discover there is power in the Cross of Christ even if they don't believe it. Yet. This stirring new film from the creators of God's Not Dead arrives in theaters March 21, 2015. More than a movie, it's a question we all must answer in our lifetimes: DO YOU BELIEVE? Tickets will be available beginning Sunday, March 8 after worship service. Stop by room M158 for your tickets and information will be available. Vacation Bible School: Take the Journey Submitted by Sis. Susan Dew, Vacation Bible School Director Vacation Bible School (VBS) 2015 is here. Take the journey! This year Lifeway s VBS will take us to uncharted territory where we will begin to understand that obedience to God can lead us beyond the expected. So, toss the map, stick close to your guide, and prepare to listen for God s direction. This journey is unknown to us, but known to Him. The VBS Motto is, This is the way. Walk in it. Scripture reference, Isaiah 30:21 (HSCB), And whenever you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear this command behind you: This is the way. Walk in it. We are looking forward to VBS 2015. Planning has started and there is much work to do to ensure this great outreach ministry is a success reach- ing the lost and encouraging the saved. The Illinois Baptist State Association (IBSA) will present Lifeway s VBS clinic Saturday, March 28, at Uptown Baptist Church in Chicago. I encourage Vacation Bible School staff as well as members interested in learning more about this ministry, to attend and become familiar with this year s theme and music. In order to manage transportation, please confirm your plans to attend with Sister Susan Dew. Staff recruiting is ongoing and we anticipate growing the ministry; please review this year s theme and consider your fit in this powerful ministry. Compliance with Broadview s Child Protection Policy is required to work with Vacation Bible School. Page 5
