Carmen DeVries: Assisting Church Planting by Teaching Missionary Kids An athlete s parent remarked recently that volleyball is truly a team sport. You can t play it successfully without relying on your teammates. How true that is! Here are some other team moments. Over 40 years ago, the first missionaries moved into Dom to study language and culture. Another couple took their place and has worked in the Dom for the last 30 years. Others have joined the work for a time. On August 26, the Dom people celebrated receiving copies of the New Testament in their own language. It took a team. My arrival in Papua New Guinea was an answer to prayers. My support was raised, my ticket bought, and my feet landed in Papua New Guinea all in a very short span of time. I praise God for you, as a member of the team supporting and praying for me. It takes a team. School is another area which requires team work. This year our staff is very small. Our team is missing a music teacher, a PE teacher, and several people are filling in part time at the high school. We want to give a quality education to our students, but it takes a team. Church planting here in Papua New Guinea also takes a team. The missionaries in bush locations need someone to fix their computers, order supplies, give medical care, take care of finances, teach their children, etc. I am so thankful to be a part of this team. TEAM Together Everyone Achieves More WEEKLY PRAYER SHEET 09/11/2016 Thanks for being a part of the church planting team, the school team, and my team! The 6th grade class consists of sixteen students from different countries, different educational experiences, and different native languages. Teaching 6th grade this year has been a learning curve. Math is definitely harder than 2nd grade! My challenge for my students is to L (Listen to God), E (Engage), A (Affirm others), and D (Determine to do what is right). My prayer is that they will have a deeper desire to follow God and set an example. Would you please join me in praying for them? We d love to pray for you! Update our online prayer chain by going to easthaven.org. Click resources, then prayer. Click on share your prayer request and fill out the form.

BE IN PRAYER FOR THE FOLLOWING: Northwest Missionary Baptist, Kalispell Higher Definition Campus Church, Bozeman Bissell School, Kalispell Flathead Youth Home Do not be afraid of them: the LORD your God himself will fight for you. Deuteronomy 3:22 There are many things that can strike fear into the heart of a nation. In the years following the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, we have feared off-course planes, envelopes with white powder, and threats from extremists around the world. God gives us a very direct command when faced with enemies; Do not be afraid of them. Don t give in to fear! Father, we turn from fear and turn to You. We have enemies as a nation who seek our destruction. We have attempted to stand against them in our own strength, all the while rejecting Your lordship over us. Forgive us, Lord. Heal our land. Help us to turn back to You, so that You Yourself will fight for us.
