Beautiful Feet Packinghouse Redlands Missions Newsletter November/December 2013 Isaiah 52:7 News From Rancho Maranatha The Lord has been at work in exciting ways in Alamos, Mexico with Daniel and Ana at Rancho Maranatha. Praise the Lord, six people were baptized in the beginning of October. They shared a time of communion and Bible study. Daniel and Ana continue to evangelize with teams coming from all over, including South Carolina and Columbia. The Lord has brought much needed rain upon the region which has blessed Rancho Maranatha tremendously. The Lord recently protected Daniel from a plane crash as he was learning to fly an Ultra Light plane. Here is Daniel s perspective on the crash landing: When setbacks happen, it s always a good time to evaluate what we are doing and seek the Lord for further guidance to make sure that we are still in His perfect will. Remember that there is God s perfect will, and His permissive will. I want God s perfect will in my life. Not that there aren t things that I would really like to do that might not be in His perfect will, but because in spite of those things, I know that anything that is not His perfect will can never give the type of results that I want to have further down the road. (Think a million years from now). So, as Ana put it, on our last flight of the day, I was very excited. It was to be, at last, a flight where I would be practicing take-off and landings from the front seat, one step away from being able to fly solo. We had spent the day getting the Messenger II ready so that Jerry could have instruments in the rear seat to be able to verify the critical airspeeds that are needed for takeoffs and landings. Now, we were in the best aircraft, with the best motor and just everything top=notch, and
we had to make one last takeoff and landing with Jerry at the controls from the back seat so that he could gauge things and see how it was going to work out. We were low when the engine seized up on us. What non-pilots don t understand is that isn t a good thing. Being without a motor is something that we practice, and making emergency landings was a couple lessons back. Those we practice from higher altitudes. The most dangerous thing that can take place in an ultra light is a motor failure right after takeoff where you don t have the luxury to choose where you will land. That is what happened to us. I had just read once again about emergency procedures in this type of situation and the only option you have is to land straight ahead and pray for a safe place to do so. We landed in an open field full of trees and Jerry did an excellent job (not to take away credit from all of the angels that are no doubt assigned to us). We were able to go from about 50 miles an hour to zero in less than a hundred feet (probably much less). Aside from the damage to the plane, we walked away and gave thanks to the Lord! Glory to God for protecting Daniel and Jerry in the plane crash!!
Mexico Outreach A team of 16 people from Packinghouse Christian Fellowship recently went on an outreach to Mexico to minister at a shelter for abused children and moms. The mothers and children were excited to see them and welcomed them into their home. They divided into two groups: one to serve the moms, and the other team to serve the children. The moms were inspired by a Bible study on Obedience Leads to Blessing. The moms were then treated to a delicious lunch and pampering with pedicures, neck and shoulder massages and hairstyling. They also were shown the Jesus video, and the team prayed for their needs. The children and their group enjoyed time at a park, McDonalds lunch and lots of time to bond. At the beach, a devotional and treasure hunt for the children was a special treat! As the long day ended with good-bye hugs they were assured that they were loved by God, Rom 5:5 "...Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us." It was a blessed weekend where God showed up powerfully in the lives of the Mexican women and children as well as the outreach team. For details about the Mexico outreach ministry see Pastor Bob Probert at the Missions Table Sunday mornings or call him at church at 909-793-8744. Let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven. Matthew 5:16
Updates From the Field News from Steve and Judy Holz with Mission Aviation Fellowship As he keeps the training aircraft safely flying at MAF s Nampa facility, Steve is also involved with keeping track of the parts inventory for multiple types of airplanes being serviced here. This has worked well for years in Nampa, but worldwide, a variety of systems for tracking inventory are in place. MAF will now use a system called Remote Access Aviation System (RAAS) to meet the need of a worldwide inventory. Steve will be a part of a team that is training to implement RAAS for MAF in worldwide operations. Please pray for this new opportunity and for an increase in Steve and Judy s monthly financial ministry support. Ted and Claudia Limpic, One Challenge International Ted shares on his recent trip to Senegal, Africa: Thank you so much for praying for us while we were in West Africa last week. The Lord gave us a wonderful week with some 65 Brazilians who gathered from all over the country of Senegal. They came in from neighboring countries as well (like Mali and Guinea-Bissau). This retreat is held once a year in very simple retreat grounds in Dakar, Senegal's capital. There are small chalets, a big kitchen for our community lunch, and a meeting hall where we held all our worship and teaching times. The program started at 9 am each day and concluded around 7 at night. Claudia and I spoke to the group every day, plus we spent our breaks and evenings counseling and praying with some 24 who wanted individual appointments. It was intense, but so worth it! Thank you again for your prayers as we were there. We did sense this was a strategic time for all the participants, and so many of them were needing some encouragement and an event like this. We came back tired... but very happy!! Reading Corner Has the God who prepared the gospel for all peoples also prepared all peoples for the gospel? Don Richardson, author of best-selling Peace Child, demonstrates through compelling stories from many different cultures how the concept of a supreme God has existed for centuries in hundreds of cultures throughout the world. From deep in the jungles of Burma to a majestic fortress in Peru and in countless other civilizations, people have exhibited in their histories terms and concepts that have prepared them for the gospel. Eternity in Their Hearts shows how God uses redemptive analogies to bring all men to Himself, bearing out the truth from Ecclesiastes that God has also set eternity in the hearts of men.
Pray With Us And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep praying for all the saints.
