Our Covenant Connections May, 2018 Questions: We All Have Them As we near the end of The Story, and we start gearing up for summer, I am excited to announce that I will be doing a series over the summer where I will be answering your questions. It has been a while since I ve done this, so I wanted to do it again, and take a stab at answering your questions. I don t claim that I will give good answers to the questions, and some questions may not have answers that I can find, but I will do my best to answer your questions. I would ask that the questions be primarily about faith, the Bible, God, church or anything along those lines. I would much rather preach about questions you have, than simply talk about what I think you may want to hear. I encourage you to be prayerful about your questions. I will set up the questions box in the back of the sanctuary and keep it up through June. There will be slips back there that you can write your questions on. As the questions come in, I intend to publish a schedule of when I will be answering each question during the summer. As the Bible tells us in 2 Peter 3:18, Grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I encourage you all to take this opportunity to be thoughtful about your faith and ask questions that you have. I look forward to continuing to grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ with you! May is a busy, busy month for Missions! Most of it is clumped right at the beginning of May, but we have our C.A.P. (Chaplain Awareness Program) at the very end over Memorial Day Weekend. We hope you can join us for any or all of these events! Saturday, May 5 th ParkWalk for Cancer Our team (and anyone who d like to join us for a walk!) will meet in our parking lot at 9:20 to walk over to the park and hear Joanne sing the National Anthem and have our picture taken together as a team. We re doing this to raise funds for cancer research and the funds we raise will stay in our area. We re looking for donations to help support our team! If you d like to support us, we accept cash or checks. Checks can be made out to FCC. All funds can be placed in the locked box on the counter under the bulletin board in the Narthex. Sunday, May 6th Charles Sagay here As we normally do for the Missions School of Hope, we will be collecting a free will offering for the school and clinic. Please give as your heart tells you! Checks can be made out to FCC. A delicious potluck will be held after worship service! See signup sheet on table. Monday, May 7 th (change of date from last newsletter) Teacher Appreciation at Clarendon We ll meet at the school at 10:45 and help monitor the lunchroom from 11:00 am to 1 pm We are hoping to have around 10 volunteers. Let s show our appreciation by giving the staff a little longer lunch time than normal. We will also be looking for donations of desserts, cheese and fruit trays to put in their lounge, so perhaps you can help us in this manner. See signup sheet on connection table. Saturday, May 26 th Chaplain Awareness Program at Pick n Save We ll be at Pick n Save from 10 am to 2 pm We will be looking for volunteers to help man the tables at both entrances as we did last year. It s a fun event with participation and giveaways from both the Mukwonago Police Department and the Mukwonago Fire Department. Kevin is part of the Chaplain Program, and it is a very needed, yet unfunded program that both the police and fire departments depend on. Look for signup sheet on May 13. Good News Club thank you for your continued prayers as we work on implementing this program at Clarendon! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all of your prayers, donations and volunteerism for the things we present to you! Linda Garasimowicz

I want to thank everyone who participated in our Opportunity Sunday on April 22nd. It was an amazing success. We had 18 ministry teams represented! Many thanks as well to members and friends who took the time to talk with ministry team leaders to learn more about what we do here at church. Thanks to those who signed up on teams too! Just remember, you can sign up anytime to be on a ministry team. You don t have to wait for the next Opportunity Sunday. There is a bulletin board by the office which showcases all our teams and who leads them. Our thanks to Beth Petersen for maintaining that bulletin board. If you are interested in a certain ministry team, just contact the team leader. Their name and photograph is on the team description. If you have an idea for a new team, we welcome that as well! There are ministry team forms in the office. Simply complete the form and put in the Moderator s mail box. We d love to add more teams and photos on our board. But most important, we d love to help you to do the Lord s work as you feel called. Watch for more information coming soon for our annual rummage sale. It will be held on the first Maxwell Days weekend in June. We welcome your help. There will be a sign up for days and hours to work the sale. We also need help setting and tearing down. And most important, we welcome your rummage. Here s your chance to clean your basement, attic and garage. This is a fun time to help out. Watch for updates in the weekly bulletin. This is also the Maxwell parking lot time frame. This doubles the help we need. Both are important fundraisers for our church. Please consider giving some of your time to one or both of these activities. Rae-Ellen Preuss Join us Tuesday May 15 th for a movie & popcorn. We will be watching the THREE WISHES, staring Patrick Swayze & Jack McCloud. Save the date! On June 19th we will be going out for our annual Women s Luncheon. Watch for details in June s newsletter! We will be taking corsages to the women over at Linden for Mother s Day. Anyone who would like to join let Sue or Diane know. Do you end up with lots of change? If so, take a blessing bag home with you and drop a coin or two in the bag when God has blessed you. Your blessings will help to bless others. Sue Roberts
