Known also for his smooth and powerful vocals, he combines talent with a sparkling wit to help make his concerts an unforgettable family night out. Columnist Jack Moss said it best, I ve seen Todd do his thing in concert and I think he s impossible to top as an entertainer. Paul continues to perform over fifty concerts a year. DEFENDING THE FAITH Taught by Rev. Dr. Bob O Keef Location: Chapel THEOLOGY OF HYMNS Taught by Rev. Neil Crowell Location: Fellowship Hall Location: Classroom D THE GROOVE: The Basics of Christianity FOR YOUTH 5 A Study of the Letters of John In the early days of the church a group of Christians believed that they were receiving direct inspiration from the Holy Spirit and no longer needed Jesus or His teaching. The three brief, but powerful letters address these ancient heresies. John demands that we know Jesus, that we walk in His light, and that we love in a radical way. John teaches that radical love should transform us and those whom we love. Dr. Bob will help us understand how to defend and live out our faith in the 21st Century. The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly Ever sung hymns in church and not understood them? Have you ever wondered if some hymns line up with Scripture? This class will explore different hymns each week, study their history, and ask whether they are theologically sound. FEB 20 (Class choice) Amazing Grace, It is Well With My Soul, Onward Christian Soldiers and The Old Rugged Cross. The piece is located over the entrance to the Fellowship Hall and has been used as a logo on church documents and in the Islander newspaper. George became interested in the stained glass process through his wife Carolyne, who was taking lessons early in their marriage at a studio in Sarasota. When she ran into problems with a certain piece, she knew that George could do anything and turned to him for advice and assistance. George was bitten by the stained glass bug and decided, with no formal training, to construct a Tiffany lampshade. Carolyn was skeptical. It took all summer to complete and is a spectacular piece which hangs in the Norwood home here on the Island. The couple worked together in a shop large enough for them to stand during construction because the stained glass process requires one to stand during the process and is very tedious. The Norwood house is a true museum of their work over the years. In the mid-90s, Roser Church asked George to construct a piece for the church. Interestingly, George did not design the piece. Church members created the design. It took one month to construct because larger glass pieces are part of the design. This is the last stained glass piece George Norwood did before his death at age 80 in 2002. Thanks! My sincere thanks and love to each of you for special cards, notes, food, visits, calls, emails and flowers. Bless you for your caring concern. Love in Christ, Anne Morse To my Roser family... Thank you for all the prayers, cards, calls, encouragement and support. You can not know how much it means to me. The treatment is ongoing and some days are better than others but with your support and prayers and God s help I am moving forward. Cyndy Custis 7
