This year e Prant embarked upon a more ambitious plan and decided to organize not only Declamation Conte but also Essay Writing Competition. Shri K. B. Mahajan, Vice President (Baal Sanskar) took e challenge to coordinate e event across BVP Delhi (Sou). And he did it very successfully and effectively. The subject for bo e contes was Relevance of Moral Values in e Present Context. Anticipating e response e State was divided into 3 Unit (details were published in e la issue of VIKAS SANDESH) under e charge of coordinators (Smt. Promila Grover & Ms. Lily for Sou Zone), Smt. Deepshikha Dandu and Shri K. B. Mahajan for We Zone). Initially e response was lukewarm but as e Coordinators epped up eir efforts wi e cooperation of e branches in e respective areas, response picked up. As many as 34 schools from all over e Prant got connected wi us. A total of 269 participants came forward for bo e competitions. The bigge satisfaction has been at among e participating schools 8 were from Dwarka alone. Though not envisaged earlier, we got as many as 86 conteants for e Essay Writing Competition in We Zone. We, erefore, decided to award prizes to fir 3 positions in Hindi as well as English language essays. Certificates of participation were given to all participants on e spot. Participants in Declamation contes were also awarded trophies and certificates at e end of e functions. However, e winners of top positions in Essay Writing Competitions were sent to eir respective schools for honouring e children on a suitable occasion. Refreshment was served to participants, eir escorting teachers and oers. The whole expenditure was borne by e BVP Delhi (Sou). I express my gratitude to Shri K. B. Mahajan who made untiring and consient efforts for e organization and success of is onerous job. I also take is opportunity to ank Sh. and Smt. Mody of Modern Era Convent, Janakpuri, Smt. Deepshikha Dandu, Principal, Columbia Foundation, Vikaspuri, Ms. Lily, Principal, DAV Model School, Yusuf Sarai and e management of Shri Ram Mandir, Janakpuri, and eir aff for offering eir premises for ese activities. B a l S a n s ka r / C h i l d re n Pe rs o n a l i t y Development Camps : Closing ceremony of 1 session of e Bal Sanskar camp for 2014-15 was organized on 13.7.2014. Sh. J.R. Gupta was e chief gue who blessed e children advising em to put in practice whatever ey have learnt here. Out of e whole lot 33 children were selected to deserve for special awards of T Shirts each. The second such session was arted on e very next Sunday attended by 35 children. Shri H.P.S. Verma, a yoga speciali in-charge of e camps rew light briefly on e aims and objects of e camps laying ress on punctuality and regularity. Special Daily Camp : 3 such camps from 10 AM to 5PM were organized at Ashirwad Banquet Hall from 18 to 20 June 2014 focusing on all round development of e children by holding different types of competition, talks and yoga. In ese camps children were blessed by Shri Virender of SwedshiChikitsa, Shri G S Bhardwaj President of BVP Delhi (Sou), Shri M.K. Wadhwa, Gen. Secy., B.L. Parashar and Mrs. Meena Thakur to name a few out of oer functionaries of Parishad. Help e needy (Saral Vivah) : Help in e form of provisions and oer necessary items needed for e marriage was given to Kumari Bharati D/O Smt. Radha of B-707, JJ Colony, Uttam Nagar as a token of our humble contribution. Samaroh : 18 Annual Function of e branch was organized in e Hall of Shri Hari Mandir of A Block Janakpuri on 20 July, e Sunday. Shri B.L. Parashar, Working President of Santan Dharma, Delhi presided. Shri Ajay Jindal was chief gue and Shri R.A. Agarwal Patron of e Branch and social activi was e special invitee. The programme arted at sharp 5 pm wi deep Prajavalan by all e luminaries present in is auspicious occasion. Shri S.P. Bhatia, Advisor, in his brief address highlighted e various activities of e branch. Besides all our colleagues whose birday falls in July were specially honoured wi shawls and garlands. Performance of e children dressed as 'Arjun and Lord Krishna delivering Geeta Sar' and children dressed as 'Army Jawans' singing a marching Patriotic Song, Uo Jawano Bhado Jawano won a underous applause. Shri B.L. Parashar explained at leng e activities of BVP. On is memorable day in e hiory of e branch, e following donations were made: Rs 10,000 to Shri Hari Mandir. Disha Centre, a school of mentally retarded children, Rs 6000 Rs 10,000 to Van Vasi Sahayta Yojana. 2 carpets and 2 sewing machines to Sewa Bharati (Regd.) Shiv Mandir, J.J. Colony, Uttam Nagar Centre. Smt. Madhu Se proposed a vote of anks. After National Anem light refreshment was served and meeting came to close. S. P. B BLOCK JANAK PURI BRANCH Vishal Sahayata Sewa Shivir : A Vishal Sahayata Sewa Shivir was organized by our Branch on 22 nd June, 2014 at Shri Shiv Shakti Mandir, BA/BB Block, Janakpuri. Help and aid was given to over 100 persons wi different requirements. Brief details are given below : Artificial Limbs and Oer Appliances : Artificial arms, artificial legs and oer appliances were given to e needy persons. Recipients had been certified by e Oropedic Department of Deen D a y a l U p a d h a y a H o s p i t a l. Measurements for ese were taken on 15 June, 2014by a team of technicians o f B h a rat V i ka s Foundation, Dilshad Garden. Co One of e recipients of wheel chairs Rs.26,500/- Hearing Aids : 36persons who had valid prescriptions from DeenDayalUpadhaya Hospital. Co: Rs. 26100/-. Sewing Machines : 8 sewing machines were given to widows and young girls who had had training in tailoring and want to use e machine for eir livelihood. These persons were sponsored by different NGOs. Co : Rs. 18000/-. Shoes : 75 pairs of shoes were given to school udents who are poor and cannot afford to buy and at e same time have e recommendation of e Head of eir Schools. Co: 5178/-. Stationery items : Stationery items including school Note Books, Regiers, etc. were given to poor school udents from JJ colonies. Co : Rs. 6200/-. Wheel Chairs : 6 wheel chairs were given to e needy. This time we had all e sixchildren wi were ose who were suffering from autism. Co: Rs. 22800/-. Oer aids to e Children wi autism, mentally retarded and slow learners. Co: Rs. 6500/-. Overall expenditure on e Shivir works out to Rs, 1,11,100/-. The Shivir which went on for well over 3 hours was ratified in 3 different Halls of e Shri Shiv Shakti Sanatan Dharm Mandir. All Members of our Executive Committee and many oers were seen working hard to manage eir area of diribution of items. This Report will remain incomplete if I do not mention e names of some of our ar donors viz. Shri Anil Varma, e Wig Family, a group called '20 Good Women', Sh. Umesh Suri( Dubai), Dr. Sanjay Bhatt and many oers. Vanvasi Sahayata : Our Branch has always been in e fore front for helping e Vanvasi breren. Apart from giving monetary help to Rajasan Vanwasi Kalyan Parishad, e Branch regularly donates note books and oer ationery items to e udents of Vidya Bharti School, Mandawali (trans-yamuna). On 20 July, 2014, e Branch donated note books and ationery items wor Rs. 50,000/- to at school at a function held at Shri Shiv Shakti Sanatan Dharm Mandir, BA/BB Block, Janakpuri. The children presented a beautiful folk song and a dance number brought in from aadivasi areas. A well known scholar Shri H.C. Batra spoke on SEWA mein MEWA. In his fascinating way Shri Batra brought out e significance of Sewa as it ran rough our scriptures. Mahila Sabhagita : Ms. Sunita Bhalla, Convener of Mahila Sehbhagita of e Branch organized a Bhajan Kirtan o n t h e o c c a s i o n o f n d S H R A W A N M A S ( 2 Monday) on 21 July at Shri Shiv Shakti Sanatan Dharm Mandir, BA/BB Block, Janakpuri. Over 30 ladies GVCA : A teacher being honoured attended. GVCA Programmes : Wi e opening of schools after summer vacations, e Branch embarked on motivating support from schools in our area of jurisdiction. GVCA programmes were held at : rd 1.
