We are a spirit filled, welcoming faith community that prides itself in sharing the good news with all of God s people. We give witness to the presence of God in the affirmation of our leadership, ministries and outreach to the broader community from a family centered perspective. November 26, 2017, Our Lord Jesus Christ, King of the Universe WELCOME GUESTS, We are honored that you chose to worship with us today! Gospel 12:3-17 Mark 13:33-37 LECTORS 1st Reading - Isaiah 63:16b-17. 19b; 64:2-7 Laura Guest 2nd Reading - 1 Corinthians 1:3-9 Joey Decker PRAYERS OF THE FAITHFUL Angela Miller STEWARDSHIP ". inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, a stranger and you welcomed me, naked and you clothed me, ill and you cared for me, in prison and you visited me." Matthew 25:34-36 Stewardship is opening our hearts, schedules and hands to others. It means being available and willing to listen and give our time and our love to our neighbors and fellow parishioners. In doing this, we serve Christ. Blessings and thanks to Joyce and Ed Frazier who prayed for vocations last week. Sick this Week If you are aware of a parishioner who is ill, please get their permission to have their name printed on the sick list, and inform the parish office. Tithes received 11-19-17 $ 1,782 Budgeted tithes needed weekly 2,850 Total budgeted tithes needed YTD 59,850 Total tithes received YTD 57,385 Second collection for the poor will be taken on the first Sunday of the month. 2017 CSA - Bringing Christ to Others Our Parish Target $6,400 - Participation Goal 100% To date we have raised $2,355 toward our goal through the support of 17 households. There is still time to respond with a gift to this year s Appeal. Last year we exceeded our target goal of $6,400. We can do it again this year. Thanks to all who have given. MARRIAGE MOMENTS Ways to Turn Your Spouse Off #5 - Let bargain hunting rob you of time - time to serve those who don't have the money even for a bargain. Let Matthew 25 ring in your ears: "I was hungry, thirsty, a stranger, naked, ill, in prison..." Spend some time and money responding to this sales pitch from Christ the King as Christmas approaches. PARENTING POINTERS Nov 26: Thanksgiving is over. Let the shopping begin! Or must it? The Friday after Thanksgiving is often called Black Friday - the day stores start to make a profit. Buying gifts isn't inherently bad, but giving an experience is often more memorable. Why not stay home and play a game. *(By Susan Voqt, www.susanvoqt.net) All who are not receiving Holy Communion are encouraged to express in their hearts a prayerful desire for unity with the Lord Jesus and with one another.
