This year, our Stewardship Team is asking us to make a commitment of our giving by filling out a Confiden al Pledge Card and Anonymous Pledge Stub. You should have received this in the mail. If you did not, you can find extras in the Church Office or on the table in the Narthex. These are pledge/covenant cards are like wri ng a note to God: Lord, I am commi ng to give to you because I love you; and I am so grateful for what you have done for me. My mo ve for giving and signing this pledge card is one of gra tude to You. On Miracle Sunday, November 15, 2015, we will give thanks to our redeeming Lord by offering our Confiden al Pledge Cards and Anonymous Pledge Stubs during worship. Your sealed and Confiden al Pledge Card will be returned to you in 6 months as a most thankful reminder. Your Anonymous Pledge Stub will be used to tally all of our commitments and our combined pledge will be announced at Fellowship Hour as a Miracle of God s Grace. This le er has a few parts: a message from Pastor, a self addressed return envelope, and a Confiden al Pledge Card and perforated edge Anonymous Pledge Stub (as seen below.) What you are encouraged to do with this le er: Read the message from Pastor; Prayerfully complete the Confiden al Pledge Card, filling in the same amounts on the Card AND the Stub; Fold and tear on the perforated edge as indicated; Fold down the top por on of the Confiden al Pledge Card at the perforated edge to ensure privacy; Place the completed Confiden al Pledge Card in the enclosed, self addressed envelope, and seal the envelope; Fold the completed Anonymous Pledge Stub at the perforated edge to ensure privacy; Bring BOTH the sealed Confiden al Pledge Card AND the Anonymous Pledge Stub to worship on Miracle Sunday, November 15, 2015; When directed, place your sealed Confiden al Pledge Card in the Pledge Basket; Place your Anonymous Pledge Stub in the offering plate or the Pledge Basket; In six months, your unopened Confiden al Pledge Card will be returned to you in the mail for you to open and use as a stewardship check in. 4 151025 5

September 2015 Treasurer s Report: With the addi on of the roof loan, income needs to average about $28,100 per month to meet budget. Income from the general fund in September totaled $22,757 and expenses were $29,443. As a result, the opera ng loss for September totaled $7,686 and general fund deficit year to date has increased to $30,695. The balance on the roof replacement loan today is $66,619 and our monthly payment is $987. In the last month we have received a $1,000 designated gi toward paying this off. With this dona on, the congrega on con nues to answer the call and has contributed a total of $29,325 toward this much needed care of our facility. We are aware that the Stewardship Commi ee has plans for this fall that will focus a en on on the financial needs of the church. Our hope is that the final three months of the year will reduce the deficit. As your treasurers, we con nue to be op mis c about where the church is financially. Logically, were it not for the roofing project, some of the money would have gone toward regular offering and reduced the year to date deficit. Other meaningful projects have been completed coupled with some facility maintenance expense that is not in our budget. Thanks to everyone for their con nued generosity. Jon Kimberling and Gwen Mitchell, Treasurers This has been an amazing year at Emmanuel Lutheran Church! We continue to serve God in meaningful ways, and have taken significant steps in caring for our church home. Additionally, annual giving has increased about 6% each of the last two years. Your Stewardship Committee and Church Council would like you to know of an additional opportunity to further our mission through a financial gift. You can buy a square of shingles for $1,000. (or a 1/2 square for $500, a 1/4 square for $250) For information or to contribute, please contact: Jon Kimberling 208.596.1654 or Bob Ritter 509.595.0487. Currently, we have raised $29,325.00 worth of roof! 6 4 151025 To track how much roof we ve raised, see the diagrams that look like this, found in the Fellowship Hall and Narthex!
