C Amen. Let us move deeper into God s care by confessing our sin and separation from God and from one another. Silence is kept for reflection. C C Merciful God, I have not relied on you fully for sustaining breath. Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference. Amen. My friends, we are sustained by God through Christ amidst the very depths of our being despite any wrong-doings or distance we may feel. God who is rich in love, full of grace, and extravagant with mercy freely offers forgiveness from all sin, enriching our lives and relieving our anxiety. Breathe. Swim. Enjoy! For you are made new through Christ Jesus. Amen. 1

HYMN OF RAISE 5
RAYER OF THE DAY A O God of life, C You reach out to us amid our fears with the wounded hands of your risen Son. By your Spirit s breath revive our faith in your mercy, and strengthen us to be the body of your Son, Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen (lease be seated) MINISTRY REMINDERS FIRST READING Isaiah 55:1-7 A A reading from Isaiah 1 Ho, everyone who thirsts, come to the waters; and you that have no money, come, buy and eat! Come, buy wine and milk without money and without price. 2 Why do you spend your money for that which is not bread, and your labor for that which does not satisfy? Listen carefully to me, and eat what is good, and delight yourselves in rich food. 3 Incline your ear, and come to me; listen, so that you may live. I will make with you an everlasting covenant, my steadfast, sure love for David. 4 See, I made him a witness to the peoples, a leader and commander for the peoples. 5 See, you shall call nations that you do not know, and nations that do not know you shall run to you, because of the LORD your God, the Holy One of Israel, for he has glorified you. 6 Seek the LORD while he may be found, call upon him while he is near; 7 let the wicked forsake their way, and the unrighteous their thoughts; let them return to the LORD, that he may have mercy on them, and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon. A C Word of God, Word of life. Thanks be to God. SECIAL MUSIC 8:00 Leaning on the Everlasting Arms Make a Joyful Noise 11:00 "The Lord Never Closes His Eyes" Chancel Choir 6
SECOND READING hilippians 2:4-12 A A reading from hilippians 2:4-12 4 Let each of you look not to your own interests, but to the interests of others. 5 Let the same mind be in you that was in Christ Jesus, 6 who, though he was in the form of God, did not regard equality with God as something to be exploited, 7 but emptied himself, taking the form of a slave, being born in human likeness. And being found in human form, 8 he humbled himself and became obedient to the point of death even death on a cross. 9 Therefore God also highly exalted him and gave him the name that is above every name, 10 so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bend, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, 11 and every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. 12 Therefore, my beloved, just as you have always obeyed me, not only in my presence, but much more now in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling; 13 for it is God who is at work in you, enabling you both to will and to work for his good pleasure. C Word of God, Word of Life Thanks be to God. (lease stand as you are able) GOSEL ACCLAMATION 7
THE GOSEL Matthew 7:1-6, 7-12 C The Gospel according to St. Matthew. Glory to you, O Lord. 1 "Do not judge, so that you may not be judged. 2 For with the judgment you make you will be judged, and the measure you give will be the measure you get. 3 Why do you see the speck in your neighbor's eye, but do not notice the log in your own eye? 4 Or how can you say to your neighbor, 'Let me take the speck out of your eye,' while the log is in your own eye? 5 You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your neighbor's eye. 7 "Ask, and it will be given you; search, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened for you. 8 For everyone who asks receives, and everyone who searches finds, and for everyone who knocks, the door will be opened. 9 Is there anyone among you who, if your child asks for bread, will give a stone? 10 Or if the child asks for a fish, will give a snake? 11 If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good things to those who ask him! 12 "In everything do to others as you would have them do to you; for this is the law and the prophets. As you have raised us to new life in Christ, give us glad and generous hearts, ready to praise you and to respond to those in need, through Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord. Amen. 11
THE GREAT THANKSGIVING It is indeed right and good that we should everywhere and always offer thanks and praise to you, Holy God, mighty and immortal, through Christ, our Lord. The day of your final Jubilee dawned in your Son, Jesus, your Anointed One who announced good news to the poor, bound up the broken-hearted, and set the captives free. And so, with the earth, sky, and sea and all their creatures, with angels and archangels and the whole company of heaven we praise your name and join their unending hymn: CONGREGATONAL SONG Holy, Holy, Holy ELW 191 12
EUCHARISTIC RAYER Blessed are you, Holy God, our Host, our Feast, our only home. You welcome your whole creation to the table of your goodness. You came as guest to Abraham and Sarah and through them blessed all nations. You fed your people Israel manna in the desert and answered their pleas with water from a rock. You hear the cries of those in need in every time and place. In the fullness of time you sent your Son, Jesus, who, for our sake, became poor and made his home among the hungry. In the night in which he was betrayed, our Lord Jesus took bread, and gave thanks; broke it, and gave it to his disciples, saying: Take and eat; this is my body given for you. Do this for the remembrance of me. Again after supper, he took the cup, gave thanks, and gave it to all to drink, saying: This cup is the new covenant in my blood, shed for you and all people for the forgiveness of sin. Do this for the remembrance of me. Remembering, therefore, his welcome to outcasts and his eating with sinners, his own hunger and thirst, his death and resurrection, we proclaim the mystery of our faith until he comes again to share the feast that has no end. 13
Holy God, holy and merciful, receive our prayers and praise as Jesus received the cries of the poor, and renew us by your Spirit, until your mercy mends all that sin has torn and we feast forever in the company of Jesus, through whom all glory and honor is yours, with the Holy Spirit, in your holy Church, now and forever. Make us bold, O merciful God, to address you as our Abba as we pray: (Abba is an intimate word used by Jesus to address his Father as we might say, Daddy) LORD'S RAYER C Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever and ever. Amen INVITATION TO COMMUNION Come to the table. Feast on God s abundant life for you.
