WELCOME Welcome to First United Methodist Church, we are delighted that you have chosen to worship with us this morning. Founded in 1821, First Church is the oldest Protestant church in the area and the oldest Methodist church in Florida. SECOND LESSON: 1 Corinthians 1:1-9 Paul gives thanks for the Christians at Corinth and reminds them that they have been enriched by God with spiritual gifts. These will sustain them to await Christ s fulfillment. GOSPEL LESSON: John 1:29-42 John the Baptist reveals Jesus to be the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world, and the one who baptizes with the Holy Spirit. The first of the disciples to follow Jesus; one is not named, but the other is Andrew, who brings his brother Simon. Simon receives his new name Peter.

ANNOUNCEMENTS WEDNESDAY NIGHT DINNER AND ACTIVITIES Join us every Wednesday night from 5:00 6:00 pm for a time of food and fellowship at our Wednesday Night Dinner. JANUARY CHRISTIAN EDUCATION Winter classes continue this Wednesday with Earle McCauley and Geoff Cook leading Dave Ramsey's Financial Peace University at 6:00pm in room S117, and Dr. Gantt leading discussion on The Wesleyan Way. In addition to other class offerings for Adults, programs for Children, Tweens, Mid Highs, and Youth are also available.
